Thank you. I have watched so many videos on brick mortar and you have finally showed me the best way. Thank you so much. I was so frustrated until I came upon your video. Best brick work I have seen.
Your work and technique is absolutely amazing man. You're my favorite tutorial cause all of yours are short, sweet, to the point and extremely educational. I've been using your pointers for over a year now and you haven't done me wrong :)
I remember the first video i saw you use this technique, it was for Boobacba's rooftop diorama! Man i've always wondered how you went about doin that! Thanks Al Figures! LEGENDARY!!!!
That is awesome I've been hand painting the mortar look in thanks u have saved me 5 hrs plus of my life lol p.s thanks for vids by watching u.. u have inspired me to take up the diaroma hobby ....
Nice job! I put very fine beach sand in tile grout and that works for a pretty accurate color.Tile grout can be had already pigmented also. got some 'free' when a construction crew dumped their leftovers near me.
Mortar is usually grey unless you're color coating it. You can get powder in almost any color you can add to your Mortar mix to get the color you want.
Great tutorial. That's cool how it just works. I'm slowly making a dio using your tutorials and I have most of the carving done and most of the magnets installed. I'm using 3d printed window frames and door frames as well as certain props like fire hydrants, mail boxes, manholes, and sewer grates. I haven't started painting yet. The layout is sort of a single story comic book bodega shop on the left side and a two story apartment building next to it with what's either going to be an empty lot or a small parking lot. And I'm doing the dio double sided so the walls have bricks on the outside and interior walls on the inside. I'm trying to have as many useful spots for photos as possible and it still work as a shelf display for Marvel Legends figures. If I ever get it finished I'll post pics on Instagram and tag you. :{J
@@AlFigures sure. I need to do just a little more carving, add a couple more magnets and painting/weathering. I'll tag you in Instagram when it's done. 🍻. :{J
That's a great technique. It looks like real brick.
