Watched this last night, really enjoyed and totally inspired went and played my local course and got my first ever hole in one this afternoon after playing on and off for 50 years!!😂 Thanks also for all the tips and tricks, really helped, especially the extra distance on the irons from yesterday (25-4-22)!
I've got a yellow Topflight XL sitting in my hole in one trophy from 35 years ago. I skulled it and it flew 155 yards never more than 10 feet off the ground. We thought it went over the green and as a last resort I looked in the hole and there it was!
Great video. If you attempt it again, though, it would be cool to see your stats for the 500 balls. Number that hit the green, number that finished within 10 feet, within 5 feet, etc. Could be something easy for the guys tending the green to do for you.
That's what I was wondering. Were those all just your usual ProV1 Rick or did you hit something else? Wonder if a spinner ball would've helped. Great video though!!
The most shots I ever did at once was 300 getting fit for all my clubs. I was dying towards the ends and I’m a very athletic 21 year old guy. I couldn’t imagine doing 500, the torn glove and everything was crazy. Great effort man
About 10 years ago I was a crazy range rat. I would hit 170 a day ("jumbo" bucket) and sometimes double that up. It was fun, but the range I went to was mats only. Really tore up my wrist and elbows. Now I don't go to the range that often except to warm up before a round, and playing better than ever. go figure!

i would do similar at your age, had 25 years off without touching a club, now 47 and recently started playing again.... 80 balls and i am rekt haha. Age is brutal.
@@countryboy8870 I have a similar experience. Just recently started again at the age of 50 after 25+ years off. Sometimes I hit a small bucket before a round. I feel like I do better on the opening holes when I do that, but I feel it more toward the end. Gotta work on my stamina it seems. 😑

I’ve never had one but I’ve witness two. The second one was over a lake where there was a 1’ wooden bank w/ the green immediately after. A friend topped the ball, skipped it over the lake and wall and it went straight for the hole. Straight out of Augusta.

My friend tried this challenge out at his home course and I went to watch him do it , we got up at 6:00 before the course opened to the public and he got it 22nd try and we just laughed we were done in 5 mins 😂
I don't know if you're kidding, but 15 years ago, I was a 13 handicap and I took 50 balls to our local 10th par 3, with no aim in mind but to knock them as close as possible. Second ball went in. Not technically a hole in one, of course and the other 48 were between 2 and 20 metres from the hole. Finally got my first real hole in one in France about a year ago, with my mother-in-law as a witness.
Rick, gotta say, the effort and diligence to see this through hitting 500 golf balls is impressive. Major props to you and your crew as well as the green keepers for allowing you to tear up the tee box in the name of entertainment.
Definitely expected you to get it! Even so 500 shots is a big effort! I’m doing 4 rounds in a day for prostate cancer in August! You should probably do it as you would be able to raise a lot for charity and it would make a great video!!
A bit of math to go with this: if the chance of getting a hole in one if 12500:1 for one try and we consider all attempts as independent, we can calculate the probability of having a hole in one after 500 attempts via: p(at least one hole-in-one) = 1 - (1 - 1/12500)^500 = 4%. If we assume that the chances improve a bit, since you "learn" due to playing just the same hole (no clue if this is a sensible assumption tbh, but it could be) and the average probability is something like 1:8000, we would get a probability of around 6% to have (at least one) hole-in-one after 500 attempts.
Got my first hole in one last Thursday then my mum sadly passed away the next day. Golf is full of highs and lows and I'm glad she got to see my first. Almost got another today. Love your channel fella

Great video Rick! I've been playing for > 50 years and I've never had one 🤬. And I have a friend who rarely plays, maybe 2-3 rounds a year, who has one 😲 I've holed out for eagle from the fairway on Par 4's, multiple times. I have one double eagle, 205 yd 5-iron. I even have one birdie from 165, on a Par 4, where I had to chip out from the woods due to a pulled tee shot.
That kept me at the edge of my seat! I was yelling at my monitor for the ball to go in. The video editing with the music was spectacular.....felt like a movie trailer. I can't imagine hitting 500 golf balls so kudos to you Rick. Enjoyed the video very much especially the cursing that was bleeped out!!
Rick, been following you for the past year and, I believe, your instruction has helped me greatly. Just picked up golf again after a 20 year absence. Last Friday, I shot my first hole in 1 and yesterday I broke 100 for the very first time! Many, many thanks and keep up the great work!
