      It could be his way of branching into a whole new category of videos: reaction videos. There is a lot to react to that he might not be able to be in person or get his hands on. Something like cutting it open could be that, but I could also see him doing race/training reaction videos, and new product reactions

    QD: There is a particular feeling around 30-45mins into a run or race when I start picking up speed and my legs, heart, lungs are in sync and yet my mind feels very relaxed and very aware of beauty around me even though my body keeps going. While it is hard to put the feeling into words, taking the cue from music it is like "the road is the dance floor, the ceiling is the sky and I feel free".

    QD: when running I don't really feel truly alive. I only feel truly alive after a really long run or a race. Physically and mentally I'm dead, my legs and body shaking, me wanting to just lay down on the concrete or dirt waiting for the pain to go away.. but I feel a great sense of accomplishment! Having gotten done with a hard long run or getting passed the pain and doing well in a race. That's when i truly feel alive.
    I'm running my first full Marathon in May and I can't wait to go for that feeling again.

    Don’t cut the shoe. Wear it for the marathon or wear it up to 200 miles. Way more interesting. Cutting the shoes is just not that interesting IMO. Someone made that shoe and most likely works some very long and hard hours. So many people would love to run in a shoe like that but can’t afford it. Race it or donate.

  • @eulogyforadream
    @eulogyforadream 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    Please do not destroy the shoe. It is wasteful and offensive. Nothing is learned from it. We would learn from it if you ran 200+ miles in it. The shoe has not been officially released and will be hard to get for a long time.

I haven't been watching for a while (my sincerest apologies) because I've been deeply demotivated lately. As the rest of the world seems to be recovering from Covid and moving on to other things, my world seems to be falling apart. I need to remember the few things I have left that bring me joy, that includes running and watching your channel...you have (unknowingly) helped me through a few dark times in the past. I wish I had another way of expressing my gratitude to you, but for now, all I have are words...so thank you Seth, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Either when Im cranking out some hurtful speed work or Im full gas during a race, its when that question starts to creep in to your head "can I hold this pace?" and I do is when Im athletically fully alive.

    All I can think of when I see these carbone plate shoes is the old Reuther or beat boards we used in gymnastics back in the old days. There were no spring boards then. The beat boards used a curved piece of wood between the bottom and the inclined top. That's where the bounce came from.

      It's worth noting that the bigger TH-cam reviewers received a pre-production model with 1mm carbon plate, vs. the production model with 2mm. I don't know how much a difference that makes but you kinda have to look to consumers for an apples-to-apples look at it.

It was months later that Atreyu announced how they would do that - by keeping the midsole the same, but upping the CF plate thickness. Not sure what you would have wanted from SJD? Question on the durability, does the 350 miles include energy return of the carbon plate? For example, next % energy return only last around ~100 miles before losing some snap but shoes (outsole) would last 300 miles before falling apart.

      In general in his reviews his durability score is based on full benefit of the shoe, so i am going to assume thats what he means. Light strike also seems to be much more durable than ZoomX, so durability should be much better. hope that helps.
