when you say resort, i think about drinks by the pool, but you really mean 'natural' and that is more cool. a little poetry, very little! ha ha! i enjoy your travels! Bravo Angkor Cambodia!, yes

+Donnie Roberson: Yes, it's natural resort. No foods or drinks there. It's a beautiful place like the temples or something. We thought it's pyramid temples was there. but it's just rest of land from mountain that suffered from rain, air becoming a beautiful natural resort like there. It won't stay long and no people know this only some people saw our post here and facebook. Long way to go and quiet.

Dey Rolous, I thought it could be petrify giant trees from the past. But due to unique formation I'm puzzle to only think it is just dirt maybe. But I sure would like hear more from a geologist point of view what those formations are made of. By your description it is just dirt, not hard like rock? From the look of the flat areas there once stood more of the likes what are left standing now. Do people remove what has crumbled to the ground and use as "rocks" to put on road surface or is it not hard enough?
Oddar Meanchey was my gateway to America. I sure would like to pay the place a visit if I ever get back to Srok Khmer. I was just a lad (10-12 )years of age living with strangers in this area before Khmer Rouge took over. My whole family was back in Battambong province and I was with a cousin that got married to a man who was with the army, assuming. Either a whole bunch of families was relocated to this region before KR, by God's providence I got tag along with this crowd and it was the adventure of my life in Cambodia. Either from Siem Reap or Battambong that the group set off with military caravan through jungle roads to reach Oddar Meachey. I think it took us at least two days to reach our destination. When there I was put on duty to tend to chongka away from living compound. At chongka I could see the road traffic to and fro between Thailand and Cambodia. I assume this road is still same road use to connect the two countries today? There was a little lake between chongka and the road, not sure what direction this would be maybe on the south side was the road. My guess, this road is the road that lead to Phnom Dong Reij?

In Cambodia, there is a word of mouth as there are not enough signs for directions. I guess google maps or GPS would not work in that part of the country!

+Theary Khmer: yes, right. There is not enough sign for direction especially, at the province and the resorts. Some locations need people to tag it and create a name and share on facebook or something so that the next person can check in the name when they get there later

This sandstone formation soon will be gone and drifted away turn to dirt that caused by rainwater. Check out Badlands, South Dakota, U.S.A. is 1,000 times better than this.
