I only recently started collecting and even more recently still actually took the time to subscribe to a TH-cam channel. I have 3 main reviewers I follow, you're my logical one. You call it out, you look for the pros and cons, and you look at the figure how I would, both artistically and realistically. So keep it up man, it's appreciated no matter what the dirty politics are behind the scenes. And yeah, I went in on Zeta due to your recommendation!

I think one thing that needs to be noted by this set is that it is a LOT more ambitious than a lot of the competition. Warbotron/GT/Transformission/Maketoys etc and most of the newer companies are fond of removing the Scramble City feature, so legs are always legs and arms are always arms. These guys can be either, AND every limb can also be a gun. Every limb is thus a quintuple changer. That I think does deserve a tip of the ol' hat.

If you don't like the way the sword looks, it can be turned into one heck of a good looking spear IMHO.

Sorry that happened to you, they should be happy you gave a positive review. Starting to sound like Zeta could be hard to deal with after this and the serial # thing. This thing looks kinda cool, but my new rule of thumb is a combiner has to be at least 17 inches, or it's a pass. Really enjoy your sit down Saturday discussions dealing with MP scale stuff, keep them coming, as always great work!

Great review of this combiner, btw. I was gung-ho at first, but I just don't think it'll ultimately be worth it to me personally in the long run.

Not to sound too cliche, but like the Rock said, you are "The People's Champ". We, as a community, look to you for an honest opinion on what toys to spend our hard earned money on. The only problem with just getting 5 is that if you leave out the weakest member, the shark, you're left without a foot. Pretty important part of a giant combining robot.

Feels like this dodges a lot of the TFC problems, some which their Road Caesar already seems to be falling foul of. Objectively I think it's great but subjectively, I'm not keen on the colours but would probably jump for a gold and white version. Gold and white sells me toys. This might be the Saturday vid but talking about 3P combiners, from Fansproject Superion hands and feet to Toyworld MP Combiners would be amazing. Great stuff as always.

Guess that explains why you haven't had a review of the Zeta Toys AerialBots, which sucks. You have very similar values/opinions on toys as my own, and as such I've come to value your opinions on MP scaled transformers above all others when I'm making my toy buying decisions. People don't understand the difference between criticism and complaining/hating. I stopped watching most of the "positive" channels because everything felt fake. There's just no criticism coming from them. When I spend my hard earned money on something I care more about the flaws than the positives. But like I said people don't understand the difference.

Woooow! So, from what I understand about this whole thing, someone out there got a stick up their you-know-what because you reviewed some prototypes in the past? And not only that! They also ran and cried about it, which in turn "punished" some of your distributor friends? Man, that stick had to be very long one LOL! Seems to me that someone wanted to get you out of the way so that your honest opinion wouldn't undermine theirs, but I could be wrong though. The way I see it, dude, you are the most honest and the best reviewer on TH-cam! You've never allowed any company to "pay" you for a positive opinion that you couldn't stand behind. You have no idea of how many transformers reviewers I've unsubbed from since I subbed to your channel, dude! Actually, I think you're the only transformers reviewer that Im still subbed to now LOL! If only hastak would give these guys some love. I mean we're getting Predaking, Abominus and a dinobot combiner (Getting abominus and the dinobot combiner). Still waiting for them to do the seasons.

GCI does good stuff. And they tend to be cheaper than their competition. I got the Transformation Motormaster from them about thirty dollars cheaper than everywhere else.
I try to do more of my business with them, if they have the figures I want.

I got half of them already. My complaints for this is basically what you pointed out. The connection ports for the shoulders should have a locking point or turn the current connections around. Also, the ratchets should have been tighter to hold his weapons.
Other than that, I like this set. Plus, it's the only Piranacon set we ever gonna have...... for now. All we need now is Monstructor, my favorite combiner.

Hmmm, maybe I'll leave Tenta-kill out of combined form (since he seems to have issues there), and just display him separately. Which might work out well as I do like his Alt-mode. Decisions decisions...

I already have the entire set. I haven't transformed a single figure (let alone combined them), because I'm just too busy. Maybe I'll get around to it eventually...

Are you going to review Fans Toys' Perfect Fusion Cesium? I have the whole Fans Toys Dibot set, but I don't particularly care for Scoria. I'm wondering if it would be a suitable replacement not just in terms of engineering, build quality, etc, but also in terms of how well the aesthetics match up with the original Dibot set.

Do any of these companies ever go back after a while of release and fix some of the joints? Lit it is disappointing that he cannot hold one of the figures as a gun, the individual figure just seems too heavy.

Tough call on this one. I don't own much TFC stuff (only both of their GoW upgrade/weapon sets) but what I do own is good. However, I have always looked on their combiners as the 'also-ran' whenever someone else has done one, too. I was tempted by their predaking. And again by their Liokaiser. And now by this. They always manage to be not quite what I want...
I think they should try to put out some one-off releases. Committing to the expense of collecting a full combiner from them is a big ask. Getting into their products through a positive experience with a good CHUG-style solo character would be a risk I might be more willing to take.

Unlucky Bobby. I had a a very similar experience . Aerial bots were almost go! Then.. someone said something to some effect. Also happened with Open&Play.

$600 for a really nice 3P Combiner vs $125 for the probably pretty decent one from Hasbro. Even the Takara Seacons should be under $200. It looks cool, but I'll wait for H/T on all my Combiners now.

I'd love to see a 3rd Party tackle an RiD 2001 Omega Prime combiner, the original is great but has some problems, mainly articulation.

As I've said before I love the "truth" factor that comes from your reviews. I really love how you say "If your happy with it then you win!" In our hobby there are many different opinions and I try to respect everyone's individuality. For me scale doesn't necessarily matter. My goal when I started collecting many years ago was just to have what I felt was a definitive representation of all those characters that I fell in love with as a Child. That being said I can't wait to get these guys. Budget constraints suck sometimes. Thanks for all you do!!! Keep it up "Uncle Skullface"!!!!

scale isnt a problem for me. however the combing ports are. relying solely on friction is a huge no no! someone said in Emgo's review, the ports can be turned around to slip on from the top. like you said i dont want to perform surgery but the combined mode is good enough that i wouldnt mind fixing that problem. individual robot and alt modes are out freaking standing. overall i think it's really good.

Wow! I really like way this looks, too bad it seems to kind of crumble under it's own weight. I would love it if some other 3rd party company would make a Piranacon in a TW/Zeta combiner scale. But I might just buy these anyways as a stand alone piece just because I love the look so much and the colorization. I'm with you man, I've been spoiled by the TW experience in terms of parts forming and how it eliminates the wobbly hip syndrome. Man, that's some crazy stuff going on behind the scenes. You'll always have my loyalty brutha and (not that you'd ever need it) but I got your back, if you ever do! Fantastic review and I appreciate the low down on the what's been going on. I always wish you nothing but the best.

Talk about dumb. This is a critical toy channel, not a hating toy channel. I know a LOT of people in real life who collect third party figures and despise your videos, but they don't do it because you automatically hate on toys. They're just in a different headspace to you, and that's fine.
I can guarantee that none of them would do something this petty. Just because someone's not a fan of one's video style doesn't mean you have to cut them off from reviewing. Hell, I disagree on your review about Toyworld Evila Star because the regular release doesn't have most of the QC issues you outlines, and I absolutely love MMC Azalea's transformation. I'm looking forward to getting a TFC Liokaiser in spite of what you've said...but do I call up the company and get them to boycott you? No. Differing opinions man...differing opinions.

Funny enough, the Japanese name for the Seacon Combiner is actually "King Poseidon". Which I kinda think fits better than "Piranacon". I mean, a giant turtle, a squid, a shark, a manta ray, a crab, and a piranha. Why call it "Piranacon"?

Good review Bobby! I like this combiner a lot! I am also buying the Zeta Combaticons... But I still don't like the use of "faux parts" for the combined mode hips... I hope the partsforming hips do something else besides being just combiner hips. For me is more important to have complex and clever engineering than the size alone!

I think I might buy this on clearance like I did with Warlord. Definitely wouldn't buy all 6, just need to figure out which 5 to buy, and that sword... Not for me.

Well there really isn't much of an option as to "which 5" to get versus getting all 6. You need all first five releases to form the fists and feet, and tentakill provides the knees and ankle extensions as a bonus, so the only option really is getting all six or first five releases only.
What I would like to know is if that distributor actually bothered to watch your review and see how much praise you ultimately gave that figure, or just went on the basis of some tool bag, mollycoddled asshat's complaint. That figure and set is taking a BEATING in the ring of public domain from collectors, you shed light on the positives and even went so far as to say you're looking at the Zeta set over the UT set. That opened my eyes and I know I'm not alone. That would mean more business for that distributor through GCI, seems like a win win win scenario to me, but sadly common sense is no longer common and your brand of honesty, even honest praise, is verboten. Makes sense. Or ya know, not at all, whatever, apparently it doesn't matter.
I've got a proposal for the Skullface army, your next 3P buy, or one coming up, grab it from GCI Toys. If we all do that, even the one time, its backing the loyalty that backs Bobby, putting our money where Bobby's mouth is and helping karma in the positive direction.

Its funny, as I remember being really impressed by this set all the way through, even in combined mode. Then the v2 toyworld devy ruined everything. Im good with the size luckily as Im only familiar with his marvel comics version where he was pretty short for a combiner. And that story, some people really need to get a life.

As for the review, another informative and enjoyable one as always. I was never a fan of these guys, but this set looks pretty damned good. It's a shame he cannot support the weight of another bot as the gun, but, he looks pretty sweet all around. And I love that ridiculously large sword, it reminds me of the mace that Barbatos uses in Iron Blooded Orphans (I highly recommend that show, by the way). Keep on doing what you do, Uncle Skullface. Looking forward to Stand Up Saturday.

Just my opinion, but wanna see where Uncle Skullface falls on the issue:TFC Toys...most "Resting on their laurels" 3rd party, or ???They are still using the SAME "relaxed grip" hands. Get with the program?! Everyone is using, at the minimum, the single-pin first-knuckle hands...They also appear to be using the same combiner ports and combiner hands as their original Hercules and Uranos. (FAIL!)The ONLY thing they have going for them is the fact that (maybe coincidentally) they are releasing characters NO ONE else has touched so far.Liokaiser.Road Caesar.These Seacons.However, that being said, the MOMENT a "better" 3rd party does a release of these characters, TFC goes into the waste bin...because they are NOT innovating or even improving their offerings that much.Look at the difference of modern MMC versus Feral Rex.Or Keith's Club.Or even Badcube/Cubex.Almost everyone else has improved, moved on, and modernized since the days of, say, Perfect Effect's Protector Armor and City Commander.TFC seems to be content simply lollygagging at 7-8 YEARS AGO with no improvement, no re-engineering, hell, not even new HANDS?!If I didn't have a bunch of old Masterpiece hinged hands left over from replacing them with Keith's stuff, these guys would never see the light of day off the shelf.

Hi im gonna pass on this. It looks too toyish if that's even a word and it's a toy??? But the light piping and tiny head puts me off it's like a kids toy and not a collectible if you know what I mean. Also the weapon issues bother me too. I only own one tfc and it's superion. Was thinking of getting prometheus as I missed maketoys guardia. Scale is not important to me. I just want cool looking figures. This doesn't tick boxes for me. Shame as I like posiedon. My combiners so far are maketoys devastator and computron, tfc superion, fansproject bruticus, menasur and there superion . Unique toys abominus mmc predaking.

Super bummed out you didn't show all 100+ or so different configurations for this guy lol. IMHO he looks ok but for some reason he looks Super Deformed to me. Overall not a bad version of Pirannacon but to me it's sad to see Rex/original combiner scale looking outdated. Also sucks to hear the Drama your having with the Player Haters Club lol. Just like you've mentioned Bobby, TFC is WAAAAAY too late in the game. Thanks for playing though TFC. You want $600+ for this?! How 'bout I just give you $60! Also, TFC knew full well that it can't hold up the 6th figure as a weapon and didn't even do anything about it. They must have monkeys designing this and still want full price. Need to open their eyes and learn from ToyWorld about scaling. 2 weeks ago, TW Constructor was on sale for $300. I wouldn't even buy this for $300 unless it's the only Piranacon piece ever made.
