    although this is the MOST informative video on the subject, you only have close to 500 views. Nobody else says how one DIRECTLY installs to the external drive, only transfer from the internal to external! Thank you sir!

    I have a question. If any update comes for any app that I moved to ssd, will I be able to update that app from app store? or I would be required to bring the app back to the mac and move back to ssd after updating? Please let me know. Thanks. Btw the video is really helpful. Thanks a lot.

    apps and ......... GAMES ..... on a MAC 🤣🤣🤣. GAMES ..... and a MAC 🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️⚰️☠️⚰️☠️⚰️. when are we going to talk about Apple s decision to solder all SSDs onto mac motherboards since 2016 and also overcharge 4x the price per TeraByte compared to ANY SSD manufacturer on the market : 2TB @Apple : 800$ while on Amazon you can get a 2TB Samsung/Sabrent/Kingston/Seagate etc for 200$ ?

    Is it possible to download games from the AppStore and then move it to a hard drive?

    Best simple explanation! Goes directly to the point instead of storytelling. 💯 👍

    please find a solution to cover these issues:
    1. can't auto-update apps like visual studio code from within the app (basically, any app with in-app update process)
    2. after reboot, can't see an icon of an app on external drive in the dock until app is launched. you can open the app or add it's icon again but after reboot the same story happens again.

    Hi I'm looking for a method of how to essentially have 2 independent working computers from my Mac mini. I need a 2nd for trading sports events so there can't be any sort of delay as split second timing is essential. I would need this to be anonymous from my Mac mini and my IP. Can you or anyone advise please? Thank you.

    I was thinking of buying m2 mini, how much will be the performance drop if i install editing softwares on external ssd ? 🙂

      If you’re going to use a fast External SSD then it won’t have any significant performance drop but for best practice always install your most used apps on the internal drive and the rest on the external drive, another tip is to store your files on the external drive.

    Hi, I'd like to ask a question. I watch a lot of TH-cam videos, songs mostly in 4k quality. so if a install chrome on an external SSD, will I be able to save my MBP SSD TBW ? I have 256GB base model MBP13, SSD wear is my worst nightmare.

      Hello, if you only use it to browse the web then you don’t have to worry about anything, it uses the same amount of memory as the intel MacBook Pro, sometimes even less. It’s only when you use heavy softwares such as Final Cut, Photoshop etc that it uses more memory compared to the Intel MacBook Pro but after the update the SSD memory usage is much lower and it will certainly get better with updates and when we get native M1 softwares

    Does this also work with a macbook air m1? I’m buying the base model and planning to install software to external.

    • @ferdiel6006
      @ferdiel6006 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If so, in case im not going to use the installed apps on the external, can i not plug it to the laptop? Then plug in if needed the app?

    • @NilsonCreative

      Hello Ferdie, yes it will also work with M1 MacBook Air. Yes, if you’re not using the apps on the external drive, you can unplug it and then plug it back whenever you need to use the app again

    Would you show how to move Origin to an external drive on mac?

    • @NilsonCreative
      @NilsonCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, first step follow my instrocutins Hey, first step follow my instructions for minute 03:44, then open Origin app, place the mouse on top of your User Name, then click on Application Settings, now click on Installs & Save at the top of the page, then go to where it says Game Library Location and click on Change Folder, now select the external hard drive that you want to install your games.
      If you already have games installed then just follow the first step fro, minute 03:44 and move the games that you already installed.

    Should you format your external drive if you already have files on it ?

    • @NilsonCreative
      @NilsonCreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, for better performance and compatibility you should format your external first, but be aware that you will lose all your files if you do this, I advice you to save all your files first in a different drive and then format the drive.

I'm looking at my applications, library, system, and users folders but I cannot find my external hard drive. Is there any chance you know the specific location of where my hard drive should be in?
