Auditioning the big Tannoy in person is a completely different audio experience. They have a really smooth sound, and acoustic music sounds fantastic! On frequency extremes, the dog barks!

I have to laugh. If I was your wife I'd be thrilled these! I am the audiophile in our home, my husband could not care less about speakers or equipment. He'd die a thousand deaths if I spent this kind of money on speakers!
Years involved in many aspects of the sound industry from a research , manufacturing, sound reinforcement, I will state that if you want to hear things as they were recorded , not mixed , there is a difference then only single point source speakers such as the Tannoy and fairly recently a couple of other suppliers
Speakers like these and the Klipsch La Scalas are far from perfect but they do a couple of things extremely well - scale and sumptuous bass. You really have to hear it to appreciate it.
If you're into live music then there's nothing on the market that comes close for their used market price. Driven with low power tubes and maybe adding their super tweeters you have a speaker for life.
You hear ... the sound of YOUR speakers or headphones. You will NOT hear the sound of the speakers shown, which is limited by the microphone and the various YT limitations.
