Critical Eats Japan......Hi brother! Miso, butter, and corn? That sounds so rich! Have you ever tried it? I love butter and miso. I just don’t think I would like it in ramen. I don’t even like Tonkotsu-as it’s just too greasy and rich for my taste.

I looked at that and immediately thought it was butter. He said it was cheese, not butter (a bit too much) and when he took the first bite of it, I was like please be butter please be butter.... 'oh its butter!!! :(". Its hard to hear and my Japanese is terrible, but I swear the comment in the background is them laughing about it.

The bowl of ramen looks absolutely divine! I have made note to find it when I go to Japan. I can't say I've ever seen a large pad of butter put into a bowl of ramen before but I'm sure it would be delicious!

Your vids are the best Eric. I have been to japan about 10 years ago with a buddy of mine and it was the best 10 days i can remember on record in my life. It is beautiful, the culture and poeple are beautiful, everywhere we went was beautiful. Just such a sane feeling place.

That is the sweetest thing ever.....i have a 15 year old now and we still do things together....we find time to do this cause we both still enjoy it....i embrace it and dont take it for granted cause i know one day it will be different....keep spending times like that with your children cause its super important.....i think....just sayin lol

Went to an American ramen shop today. I liked it but it was absolute crap compared to the stuff you get in Japan... Never tried ramen with butter in it. Sounds really rich.

Eric, your video is great as always, I've been watching your videos for at least the last 6months about any episode, I love that you get out and explore all these awesome restraunts. Hopefully in the next year I can make my way over for a vacation, go and see these places you've been, hey ever looking for someone to tag along and try some of that amazing food, you let me know. Thanks Eric for your contributions, really makes me feel like I'm in Japan while whatching the videos.

I did have a decent cup ramen the other night, it had funky little tempura chunks in it, but it was good. I added my own soft boiled eggs & green onions of course. I love me some bean sprouts, I grow radish sprouts that would be pretty good in ramen. Thanks Eric ☺️

I love ramen! We have a local ramen restaurant, they are really good but it's incredibly expensive. Our total was $200 for two adults, two teens and 1 child!!
Hey Eric, don’t know if it’s just restaurant specific, but I ate at a Koto Steakhouse yesterday. Had 2 squid sushi, a queen roll, Onigiri, and chicken/salmon teriyaki. It was amazing!

Oh no! A mouthful of butter! Definitely a bit of a surprise, but it still looked very good. I never thought Ramen and corn would be good together, but I'm very curious to try it now. Sapporo Miso Ramen was my favorite. I ate it 3 or 4 times a week for 2 years when I lived in Japan. Love the video
Fantastic meal. The first ramen I ever ate was called Sapporo Ichiban, instant version. Didn’t know any other existed. Ramen has come a long way since. The wood ear mushroom was a new addition as is raw ginger, pickled I can imagine but it would take away from the soup. I’m surprised you didn’t do any seafood this adventure. I think the fish and crustaceans are tastier up north. Very satisfying video, now I’m going to eat my lowly bowl of oatmeal. Maybe I’ll pimp it up with some ra yu.
