Genuine, honest, funny, intelligent, unpredictable, authentic and sometimes jolly drunk. Thank you for all your hard work, sir. You're my favourite chess player 😊

I really enjoy your video format, explaining what and why. You made chess a brutal sport. I love it, mate!

Keep up the good work Sir. I really enjoyed your work through out my chess Career. I managed two beat two Grandmasters using Torre attack & won a bronze medal at the Asian Cities Team Championship in 2019. Once again I'm a great admirer of your attacking play. I have all your downloads Black Lion, Chigorin, Torre, London etc.
I wish you all the best for your future Olympic qualifiers, (I'm also playing 😊👍). & All your amazing work.
    Thank you very much! Grandmaster!
    😍👍👌💐💪🙂👑🤞👏👆

Ginger Your game against the Lady in reykjavik was from another planet. Tal and Nezhmetdinov would wrote an article or rather would made a video about that game today :)) Chess fans nowadays are craving much more for beauty and creativity, the Je ne sais Quois u know :D than overanalyzed boring infinite long games. Well done sir keep going.

Dear Simon, what is it about the asymetrical beard. Is that to distract the opponents? Great content as always!

Is it possible that Simon plays too many openings and defenses? Would he have better success by focusing on a smaller repertoire?

you can not train for IQ test... a good IQ test (the WAWI test, official) giving same result no matter what... your IQ is not changing that is the whole pont. It may change a tiny but to higher, but that is normally because of life circumstances, more likely it can go down, if you get 'hurt', brain damage, or some disease, or you neglect your 'brain' for long years, you don't practice your brain.
The IQ may change a little bit, you can be a bit more tired/fresh when you do it, but ideally you do it in 'normal' state, not after a drama, or sleepy, or drunk.
Myself, I did the MAWI test (hungarian WAWI) at age 10 and age 14 I got same exact result for both time, that's the official test. My mom did it too, my brother and same happened, my mom did it multiple times with same result.
But your IQ doesn't necessary make you successful in life, see my examlpe, I worked as chef for like 13 years after I went abroad, now I'm trying to swap back to my original profession, going back to IT world, I'm working as developer now.
One of the 'requirement' of the test is that you cannot redo it within 4 years. And you are not allowed 'train' for it, otherwise the result is not valid.
And usually supervised by a psychologist, if you 'cheat' (train) for it it would be not accepted as valid result.

You can definitely train for an IQ test, at least parts of it. I remember i went wrong with optical illusions. I can guarantuee you that won't happen again!

This... the amount of misconceptions around IQ tests is crazy. You can train for individual portions of the test, sure, but if the test results were not sufficiently reproducible they wouldn't be much use as a whole... Not to get into the whole reproducibility scandal in academia since IQ testing is kind of outside of that. My score on RPM has dropped five points in 25 years, which is on the high end of average.

You can prepare for IQ-test in many ways, and it gives a significant advantage. Playing games and solving puzzles since early age makes you faster, and most tests measure speed as well as ability to reason. Good sleep, physical excercise and healthy food improves performance. Chess players since Bobby Fischer have taken all that into account when preparing for tournaments.
