Great video. I especially love the Lachesis; I have been very fortunate to have owned three, two adults and one neonate that grew to eight feet when I (Stupidly) sold her to a another collector. I would dearly love to own another one, but they don’t come up very often. Take care and be safe. M

Puff adders have the fastest recorded strike last time I checked and there are other snakes with fangs just as big as the gaboon on average but the single longest fang measured did belong to a Gaboon at 2.37"in if I remember correctly. But there are individual snakes that could have longer fangs than an individual Gaboon not to mention there are multiple species with longer fang:body size ratio‼️

You should do a video about the care and tips for having a western diamond back. The information online isn't exactly overly abundant. From my observation, probably one of the least discussed snakes. (if you've already done a video I'll go check it out)

Fyi. They are mean little bastards. I got two. One wants nothing more than to get away from me. The other wants nothing less than to kill me.

I always had luck with eyelash babies giving them pinkie legs and freezing when they grab, until they swallow.. Just tease the drumstick on their lips and they snag it.

Will the lichens on the branches activate with water? could that cause eventual bacterial fungal infection? Neem oil women in India use for personal health, and I use it in my orchard as to kill fungus, nice mild and works great.

I am not a snake person by any stretch of the imagination…honestly I am terrified of snakes… as a young boy I was bitten by a snake and I remember my mom going nuts cause she thought it was a venomous snake.. and it wasn’t…but I still have the fear of them with that said.. the eyelash viper that was on your sake stick ad you got close up of it.. he was beautiful..but I still wouldn’t want to be in the same location heh..

Snake lovers why don't you make a head or mouth muzzle for these snakes see if it's made for dogs it's more user friendly for these snakes. Snakes always close their mouth their tongue could still flicker. Make it for these snakes. The design could be anything from a ligh stuffs that won't hurt the snakes. See these snakes could make their own mistakes so in any seconds just putting a muzzle on their mouth would prevent those fatal bite.

Gaboon vipers are ball pythons with huge fangs. Forest cobras are my favorite. Lanceheads are far more interesting vipers than Gaboons as well. There are people that feel exactly the opposite of what I just wrote though.
