I wash them good then cut the hard stems out. I add about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in a large pot with water along with salt. I don't measure the salt because it'll depend on how full the pot is. I figure we could add more once they are cooked. I cook them for about 45 minutes. Hope this helps.

@@sn232 I cook them on the stove top with the covered. I bring them to a boil the bring the temp down to med-low and let them simmer for about 45 min.
