Capita. Thats a laugh I reported over 150 Kiwis and Aussies who worked against thier casual work permits. All of them did not pay the TV Licence fee worked illegally. I’m pretty sure you can ring them and tell them you don’t need a licence. No need to give them anything other than your reference, address and maybe name. (I’m not 100% sure on the name as it’s been quite a while since I did it) just keep telling them you have no need for a TV licence and don’t watch anything their service covers. They’ll keep trying to mess you about but keep telling them you don’t need a licence over n over till they give up and have to put the exemption on
I have always done the "No License Needed" declaration and never had a visit because of it and it stops the letters until the declaration "expires" after 2 years. Although I could be one of the lucky ones. As you said imagine having to tell every company that you don't need their services like the BBC want you to do with their TV license. What a farce.

I always find it funny that letters are addressed to the occupier and not the addressee "Could using a name on the letters be classed as harassment after receiving a certain number"
I filled in the online declaration so I could cancel my License over a year ago, so they have my name and address. I haven't had a visit or a letter since I did "the I don't need a Television License" declaration. I've probably just been lucky so far. It's just unreal the intimidation and aggressive letters that I see on your TH-cam channel. It's actually your channel, that gave me the confidence to finally cancel and thank you for it.

In the 16 years or so I've lived here the Jehovah's have only managed to knock on the door about 3 times. The local Tory candidate knocked once too. Never TV licensing. It's a shame as I've perfected the "no thank you" on those previous visitors mentioned.

Try living in NE uk Enforcement officers at the door every other week, the same bloke turned up twice. Letters coming every week...........I had to ring them up in the end. Up to now no more visits but I have had another letter grrrrr these people are a shocking.

I got one today chilli but mine says will I be in 22nd March, I've had about 4 of these ones in the last 2or3 yrs but never once did they turn up, shame as I'm looking forward to a visit.

Facts about the 5000 visits. How do they visit 'around 5000 houses' a day? That's half a million every hundred days, so by their logic they visit over 1.8 million homes a year. I have been 14 years with no licence and always bin every 'update whether you need a licence' letter they send. So 14 years the goons would have visited 25.5 million addresses and still have not visited me... There are only 25 million dwellings in England though 🤔
I had one turn up on the day last week but i am disabled and don't answer the door anyway unless its someone i know. Don't watch tv and the ariel blew over and has been laying on the roof for a few years which is clearly visible to anyone outside but they send quite intimidating letters on a weekly basis.
These letters always make me laugh 😂 when i receive one. I've received 14 letters (14 😂) up to Now, one very month or 2 ?. I'm on holiday at the moment, so thanks for letting me know to expect another 😂 when I return home from my holiday 👍

I've been receiving this cycle of threatening letters since 2015. For a significant number of those years there was no house here because I knocked the old one down. Since then I have been building the new one, still the letters come . I will not contact them and to the best of my knowledge no one has visited - certainly whilst I have been here!!

Really? I cancelled the "proper" way and got a cash refund. Letters started within weeks followed by two goon visits.

Last tv licence inspector that knocked on my door put his foot in doorway so I couldn’t close it , I pushed him out so hard he fell flat on his back , that was 20 years ago and I’ve never had another visit from them since but I still keep getting loads of letters from them

Hi mate. I've been licence free for 12 years now. I do let them know every couple of years that I don't need a licence and never had a visit.
So you could watch TV, just tell them you don't and that's it.

Lol, I got the same letter this morning 06/03, I marked it on the calendar just to make sure I'm in.
I had a visit about 3 weeks ago, that was after a year's worth of letters "I normally go onto their no licence required site, but that no longer works correctly" I answered the door to them informing them I had never owned a TV let along viewed any live programmes ever at this address, they jotted something down and stated that they will update the system accordingly and I then received a letter last week informing me that a visit has been scheduled for my address? I always find it funny that letters are addressed to the occupier and not the addressee "Could using a name on the letters be classed as harassment after receiving a certain number"
Yes, that's why they change it to 'legal occupier' as if it named a particular person then it could be declared as harassment or stalking.
I filled in the online declaration so I could cancel my License over a year ago, so they have my name and address.
I haven't had a visit or a letter since I did "the I don't need a Television License" declaration. I've probably just been lucky so far.
It's just unreal the intimidation and aggressive letters that I see on your TH-cam channel. It's actually your channel, that gave me the confidence to finally cancel and thank you for it.
I also had that letter saying will you be in on March 15 but sadly I won't be lol

In the 16 years or so I've lived here the Jehovah's have only managed to knock on the door about 3 times. The local Tory candidate knocked once too. Never TV licensing. It's a shame as I've perfected the "no thank you" on those previous visitors mentioned.

I think "Ross McTaggart" has forgotten about me as I haven't had a threat - o - gram since just before Christmas. I was probably averaging about one a month for last year! 🙄
I’ve just had the same letter. They’ll be really busy that day … seeing doors closed in their faces.
I've taken to turning their unopened post, marked "return to sender".
It's funny, the first few times as soon as they received it they'd send another, but after a few times of this happening I've not had another (yet).
I send them back, but still get a monthly letter - That also gets sent back ...!!

It's time people took out a mass lawsuit for harassment and distress. If any other entertainment provider tried this to get subscriptions they would be prosecuted. And yes, the licence fee is simply a subscription. As such it should be a civil debt like not paying your Sky bill...
I've replied to someone else here on that. At risk of duplication: I've researched this. Take first the case of Cliff Richard, he was awarded £210,000 but it cost him £3.1m to sue them.
In short, the BBC has huge funds to access the best defence. Strategically, to win against the BBC, one has to systematically erode their wealth and they know this - the balance of harassment and misinformation from the BBC causes people who don't need a TV license to buy just out of fear - this is how the BBC survives. The way to win against the BBC is through education and everything @chillijoncarnie is correct.
I've had about 12 of them letters. and others in between.
Try living in NE uk Enforcement officers at the door every other week, the same bloke turned up twice. Letters coming every week...........I had to ring them up in the end. Up to now no more visits but I have had another letter grrrrr these people are a shocking.
This is tantamount to stalking by correspondence, ans also intimidation, Threatening letters are against the law. It is also harassment. so why are'nt the law chasing these comanies like Capita down.

Sadly, I do listen to BBC sounds, which requires a login, but no licence. As a result, I had to keep it active😢 bit of a shame, as I'd love to cut all ties with the BBC but I love the Goons from 1958!!

I got one today chilli but mine says will I be in 22nd March, I've had about 4 of these ones in the last 2or3 yrs but never once did they turn up, shame as I'm looking forward to a visit.
This is clearly harassment , Netflix don’t come round knocking on my door .
If you get letters from BBC and it's addressed to the occupier you can stop the letters by contacting the post office.😊

Good video - thanks! BBB occasionally fights the same battle - if so-called TV Licensing repeatedly sends you these letters, it can be harassment. Perhaps someone could take them to court over it.

Collect all the letters into a carrier bag and give them back to the enforcer should he ever call.
Cancelled my tv licence a couple of years ago, because i don’t require one. Haven’t had one visit, unless they came when i was at work. Keep up the good work mate.

Facts about the 5000 visits.
How do they visit 'around 5000 houses' a day? That's half a million every hundred days, so by their logic they visit over 1.8 million homes a year. I have been 14 years with no licence and always bin every 'update whether you need a licence' letter they send. So 14 years the goons would have visited 25.5 million addresses and still have not visited me...
There are only 25 million dwellings in England though 🤔
Add 2 or 3 million homes in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but they're still not being honest with us.
I have been doing the no licence needed declaration for about 7 years now, I have never had a letter or a visit.
I had one turn up on the day last week but i am disabled and don't answer the door anyway unless its someone i know. Don't watch tv and the ariel blew over and has been laying on the roof for a few years which is clearly visible to anyone outside but they send quite intimidating letters on a weekly basis.
These letters always make me laugh 😂 when i receive one. I've received 14 letters (14 😂) up to Now, one very month or 2 ?. I'm on holiday at the moment, so thanks for letting me know to expect another 😂 when I return home from my holiday 👍

We get similar stuff from our housing about gas and eletrical tests threatening
court action and termination if you dont allow them in. as if you would obstruct them . I really pull them on it.

I've been receiving this cycle of threatening letters since 2015. For a significant number of those years there was no house here because I knocked the old one down. Since then I have been building the new one, still the letters come . I will not contact them and to the best of my knowledge no one has visited - certainly whilst I have been here!!
Chilli! TV licencing must spent Thousands of pounds sending threatening letters out. Is there a way of re-posting them back at their expense?
