For me playing "competetively" *is* the most fun way to play smash. I'm not going to tournaments, but when I play with my friends we basically use tournament rules: -1v1 -no items -only legal stages (-we use 4 stocks though, because we SD too often and a match would be over too quickly with only 3 stocks lol) I love the feeling of improving at the game. Getting more consistent with combos, learning new tech and actually implementing it in a real match and most of all thinking of a tactic and it working are amazing feelings that I just don't get when playing "casually" (items on, non-legal stages, etc). Maybe it's because I am bad at the game, so even small improvements feel amazing. So much so that I count and keep in mind how many stomp-to-knee kill confirms I managed to pull off (I consider myself a Falcon main, and it's 8 so far lol)
I do agree w/ you about how Smash (or gaming in general) has been too much into being competitive. It's rather sad and quite aggravating on how upset a smash player gets into a non-competitive smash.
Nice! Great matches! The real reason Sillintor doesn't play competitively in tournaments is that he is too nice and has to keep his power in check. He doesn't want to completely humiliate his opponents when he absolutely wrecks them.
I think that the fun of doing anything is trying to become passionate and the best at what you're doing. That's why i like competitive smash. Watching people who are masters at their craft versus other masters makes for some amazing content. Watching neutral, learning advantage, understanding how to get out of disadvantage, I think for me the learning is good. But the moments where you can apply and see growth. That's what competitive is all about
8:39, fox tried to roll away after the bair and picked up your bomb in the process before getting hit by the grounded upb, then the final hit of firefox detonated the bomb. i'm not sure why the initial chargeup didn't, because fire hitboxes are supposed to detonate bomb (like if you throw or drop a bomb into bowser/charizard neutral special) but interesting to know that it's only the final hitbox of firefox that will detonate one. edit: i paused the video to comment when you asked what happened initially, getting back to the vid i see you figured it out yourself :P i did a cool thing with fox one time tho! parried a charizard flare blitz and hit with shine as they were passing through the parry, then turned around and upsmashed the tech-roll in. super satisfying.
I respect your opinion regarding tournaments and the competitive scene. Wouldn't mind watching any other games like Xenoblades or maybe even an fps if you tried them out one day. Overall this was fun to watch!
12:05 Smash was always more of a Nintendo thing directed by Sakurai. If it wasn't for him then Smash could change drastically in terms of balance. Not to mention that Sakurai probably had no say at all in the Netcode.
I totally get not wanting to go competitive. However, I'm sure I'm not the only viewer that would love to see you face someone like Fatality or Kola or some competitor, just a few online matches.
Hey Silli, great stuff as always. Question: how are you so consistent with the nair trains? I struggle to consistently fast fall after the nair and it makes me drop the follow up.. cheers 🍻
I'm not sillintor but I got better at this by going into training mode on 1/2 speed. I was trying to fastfall too soon, wasn't accounting for the nair's hitstun
They went with the "EVERYONE IS HERE" approach on the game. There is no way that they could surpass that for the general audience. The only way I can see it is being a port for a new console at some point with more DLCs, but this would also mean to get new licenses for characters like Sora
I like your videos it is not important for me to see you at offline tournaments because your right about if you go its almost the whole day there. Where i am a tournament will start at 7pm and end at midnight but you benefit more from streaming and content.
You could make so much content tho if you went to a tournament plus you could stream while your there and make a video analysis so mega content basically
Go to tournament, come back, upload video with small commentary on what you think about that game or even stream it then upload vod to TH-cam. Profit. I'd watch for sure
Playing competitively is a completely viable life style though. I understand it’s not for you and that’s fine, but for what it’s worth, people who play hyper-competitively are *still* doing it for “fun”. That’s just their way of enjoying the game.
Do tou play Xenoblade games ? Because I heard the Torigoth OST in your video 😂 (if yes do you have buy the 3 ?) P.S: You're videos always make me laugh 😂
Omg such a Zelda traditionalist conservative Link talking really isn’t bad of an idea The cartoon show wasn’t faithful to link’s character obviously get over it If link talks in botw2 it would be soo cool Imo He could be a Metroid dread samus type stoic and of few words but lighthearted to folks
6:04 adding the sound even on the enemy's arrow, that's commitment
4:51 Sephi's version of returning Boomy 🪃

0:10 best combo in ultimate 🗿
the accidental fox recovery 😂😂
You are the best Link player i've ever seen before. Really good

Always respect the not making fun of others when you responded to the fauler comment.

Liking the new longer content a lot, very nice
Kidlink really is a concentrate of cheese 😂
Yeah Sillin vs Kidlink matches are always cheesy as hell lol
5:13 the disrespect of it all. You alright there Pap?
That fox should've said it was intentional and bragged about it til the end of time

Man gives the realest of speeches about competitive in a viewer arena video

"We're just having fun here," he says while dominating most of his viewers, lmao.
That whole time during the seph vs link games I thought you were link and he was seph.
I too was a little confused on who was who there
9:59 Based response.
2:50 i just play vs bot

8:41 HOLY COW
Heeeey that was the most intense handshake i’ve ever seen in smash tournament history
Golden Sun music always slaps.
talking link: EXCUUUUSE ME Princess
What's the song at 2:28?

HAHAHAHA! I am Sillintor Clone! 5:27
7:20 I take great offense to that! I wish I had better wifi or lived closer to you 😤
I DI’d there I promise you. You gotta believe me.
8:06 what did he say?! 🤨📸

This video convinced me every Content Creator or Pro has a pocket DK.

10/10 video
I mean, tournaments are fun too. Different vibe, putting your skills to the test, changing it up
Love the cadence of hyrule music. They gots the bangers
Sillin should be a smash bros coach. For link players ofc🔥🔥
I totally get not wanting to go competitive. However, I'm sure I'm not the only viewer that would love to see you face someone like Fatality or Kola or some competitor, just a few online matches.
4:00 AYO based money abolitionist sillintor ???
I imagine you absolutely love Golden Sun since you use their music in a lot of their videos. Or am I wrong? Also I love your videos ❤️
Your link is just straight up crazy bro
Great vids please don’t stop you are awesome 😎

@@abigcupofwater thanks for the tip. Do you double tap the stick down to fast fall more consistently or did you just practice the timing?
@@stevegaudin8779 just once. It was frustrating doing it over and over but once I saw the earliest possible time I could input down I focused on that
Why isn‘t Therme going to be a next smash? I mean the game is hype and played all over the world

Maybe there will be a kind of deluxe version as they did for mario kart
13:32 I take back what I said. That was a clean Ganon :3
But yeah I still wish I could play a match against you ^^
Whats up with the gormott background sound cool
How is Silli so undersubbed?
Wait, is that Golden Sun music???
"mostly about fun and not competition."
he says while absolutely clapping incineroars cheeks
"If link is talking, Fricc this movie."
well excuuuuuuuuu...

How do I get in one of your arenas?
Poor crazy dude i watch that live and i feel bad for him
So early video not even loading for me lol
I can watch your Link as long as it's still fun for you!
Just realized he was sephiroth 6:14
yeah, I don't play dittos in viewer battles and switch characters
@@Sillintor honestly it’s so cool when the TH-camr you watch replies to you. Love your channel. Your really good at the game
Sillin is hilarious:)
Sillin is N from Pokémon BW confirmed?
How do we play against you?
The schedule changes every Monday and is posted on our Discord, Twitter and Twitch. The date & time for Viewer Battles is always on the schedule
Xenoblade 3 is really good by the way
every link i fight on elite smash tries to play like you now but they not as good 🤦🏻♂️
Can we have more Cadence of Hyrule TLoZ songs please ? That was great!
There will be another smash
hopium
You could make so much content tho if you went to a tournament plus you could stream while your there and make a video analysis so mega content basically

I'd watch for sure
Finally someone with a brain to understand meowth is the best pokemon for real life. Only exception being Jirachi for just wishing lol.
On top of that Meowth is a cat, that's a win in my book
@@Sillintor absolutely lol. Google isn't helping me at all how do you find these online tournaments you're always joining?
I think that if you just casually joined a tourney, it would be good for content. But only if you enjoy it tho.
:( Ik ur point but i still want to see u in competitice bcs theres only T and u the best link.
