Postonja to Plitvice Lakes S4 E3

Despite the threat of rain in the morning, the day’s riding was under blue skies. The sight of the Adriatic in the bright sunlight was fabulous, and warranted a stop in gorgeous Opatija (near Rijeka). We continued down the coast to Senj and at lunched in the C16th Nehaj Fortress (which Meg, who arrived before us, had arranged). From Senj we headed inland and rode some very narrow tertiary roads through the hills. After 8 hours, we pulled into the Hotel Degenia at Plitvice Lakes, to the great relief of pillions, and riders alike.
