Cyclical Souls - An Ambient Exploration with a DIY Noisebox, Radios, Novation Peak Synth, Bioscape

Cyclical Souls - A live ambient improvisation (no overdubs) using a homemade noisebox (soundbox), Novation Peak Synthesiser, Analog Radios, Luftrum's Bioscape and Spitfire Audio's Eric Whitacre Choir. The soundbox is amplified with three piezoelectric sensors and then sent through an ambient reverb. The Radios are controlled with a passive switcher to select between them, with mute and volume controls, the signal is then sent through two delay effects, controlled from the pedals and the mixing desk. The Novation Peak is playing a custom evolving drone patch which uses a lot of modulation to dramatically alter the soundscape when using the mod wheel. Bioscape is playing a custom soundscape patch made from field recordings, with the master volume controlled from the Arturia Keylab MIDI keyboard, which is also used to play the choir by switching midi channels. Thanks, I wasn’t sure about adding the visuals but they are so satisfying to make I couldn’t resist it. Love filming stuff and editing it to the soundscape, it seems to complete the creative flow for me somehow.

I think the visuals are a real benefit. Personally, If I'm watching someone in their music zone, I'm always interested in seeing more of a 'mood' - either some coloured lighting, or at least a more minimal lighting, like candles, etc. more of a magic zone than a lab.......but that's just me. I think the visuals you've added really make the experience more immersive and spellbinding.......
