Because Bert grew old - put on weight, sat on the sofa being force-fed donuts by Wargaming and lost his ability to derp enemy tanks in the side for all their hit points. Bert today is a sad reflection of Bert in his youth.
I don't think Wargaming ever changes the actual stats of their premium vehicles. I could be absolutely wrong, but I thought that the stats upon release (or re-release in some cases) are cemented in and the only thing that has ever been influenced easily was the preferred matchmaking range. Again, I could be wrong, but I just don't think I've ever heard of them taking a premium that was great on release, have it fall under power creep and updates, and then they end up updating it back to its former glory or beyond. I don't recall any tank going through that, but then again there's just so many tanks and so many games out there that I lose track of all the events and news.
@@steeljawX They nerfed the super pershing back in the day. Think it was the gun and turret that got nerfed if i remember right. Used to have amazing gun handling and unbreakable turret.
@@steeljawX There was the one announcement about two years ago where they said they'd rebalance Premium tanks, and used rebalancing the KV5 as an example piece, but reception on that was so negative that they just kinda silently stepped away from it and pretended they never said anything. Things like the IS-6 surely need some love, but the E25 or the lefhferheleferfeh? they don't need any tweaking. They would have probably gotten away with it if they came out and said: "Ok, time to buff the IS-6 so it stops getting pen'd from the front!"
Too bad that T-150 had not learned that the AT-8 has only one dangerous side, the one with the gun sticking out... I guess he learned that in this game, at least I hope so

The issue is that you'd have to hit it flat on with the HEAT pen, since the shell pen/armor values are so close together, otherwise your chances are basically nil. Even flat on it's roughly 50/50 whether he pens due to penetration rng.
Top tip: many of FBI869's shots are going long because this artillery aiming view is deceptive. You need to be aiming between the tracks to get the most hits/splashes.
The way to play an AT8 is essentially like a semi mobile pillbox, the hatch is offset so you can poke the gun around the corner and all the enemy has to shoot at is the highly angled auto bounce hatch corner and the 203mm front. This is while you lay down high accuracy, high DPM and high pen shots with that 20 pdr. Pretty much like this guy did This is how you also play the AT2, AT7, AT15 and Tortoise. They are inflexible but in the right situation they are bloody immortal
@@gandurk The AT 7's gun is highly offset, the AT8's is slightly offset relative to the commander's hatch (the 'top hat weakspot') this lets you, as I said, expose the gun while covering the weakspot to a point where its pretty much an auto bounce if fired upon. The weakspot is so well known that no one knows what to do if the cupola is hidden I'd know, I had two marks of excellence in this, the AT15, one mark in the AT7 and 3 in the AT2

The hull protrudes over the left side when facing it but still from my experience it was not particularly effective at least when compared to the at 7. Besides I though you might have mistaken it for the t7 version, I even checked myself to make sure I wasn't misremembering. You even wrote that you could shoot people with the 20pdr, which the at8 doesn't have, so it was not unreasonable to assume you just mixed them up. But hey what do I know, I only ground out the whole line (and all the other tier tens apart from type 5, BC arty, WZ fake tank and TD, the panzer vii and gw e100. How inexperienced I must be to make such a claim against someone who have three marked a tier v statpadders tank. (For real though that is just some pissy banter, I get your meaning although it was not too clear in the original unedited comment, and immediately regretted going "wrong" but hey we can disagree while measuring wot penises can't we?)
In the leFH I've actually stopped taking HEAT rounds into the battle. There's just too many bounces and no-damage-shots into tracks that on average, you're better of taking a 100% explosive load. Less likely to end the game deep into the red as well.
I just want to say... I haven't seen the actual match you showcased yet... but I just want to say how thankful I am that you got to show us the "tell me you like my hat" intro. Because that was one. Of. A. Kind. And Gravy needs a hat, inside WoW.

@@SimbianMinistry You can't get a Kolobanov's in a tier 3. Tier 5 or higher. Granted, console or Blitz may be different, but for PC it's gotta be tier 5 or higher.

He needed to get out of "TD" mode with that leafblower. He missed so many shots and wasted ammo because he was locked into 1 mode of aiming which is notoriously bad by itself.
Had similar happen in my Leaf Blower one of the first times I took it out. Of the three of us left against an AT8, I was the only one who potentially could have damaged him ... if I had not spent most of my HE and had a loadout that included around a total 10 premium rounds and AP rounds (can't remember if it was 6-4 or 5-5 for each). Since it is HEAT and doesn't work like HE I did nada, zip, zilch, zero damage to him. At least when I had HE I was doing something. Since then I load zero premium and zero AP. Needless to say we lost that game because once I ran out of HE ammo no one could do anything to him because they had already used their HE rounds. Our medium tried to cap but with neither of the rest of us able to stop him, he trundled back to cap and killed our medium after dispatching me and the other teammate.

Thats the most annoying part. Artillery is the queen of battle for a reason. I would be more happy with realistic reload times and pitiful damage than with accurate damage and absurd reload times. Edit: Id also say that they should implement a feature where artillery can only see vehicles marked by allies if its beyond their viewrange, just a simple keypress option to highlight targets for artillery

Correct - as I always advise, the HEAT and AP rounds might be amusing, but they are only really fun when you fire at TOGS or O-I as you cannot miss! Better to carry as many HE rounds as you can and carry only 4 HEAT rounds for close encounters with Heavy Tanks.

Apparently he didn't think he needed to. He had two teammates with perfect shots at the target, immobilizing was the safer option by far. How could he know he had two Frodos as his allies.
Note: LeFH player shot way too fast and just used up all his rounds for no reason And he choked his HEAT rounds he can pen the butt of the AT-8 he just potato'd. I'd say he's probably not a very good player. Not stat shaming, just an observation from an equally bad player.
T150 was firing he, but he didn't have the top 107 mm gun. Probably was stuck with the 85 F3 from the kv 1, although I don't get why a single apcr round from any gun that guy could possibly have did not pen the AT 8s armor

Wrong, it's the AT7 that has the offset gun. AT8 has it relatively centered on the hull.

In the leFH I've actually stopped taking HEAT rounds into the battle. There's just too many bounces and no-damage-shots into tracks that on average, you're better of taking a 100% explosive load. Less likely to end the game deep into the red as well.

T150 was firing he, but he didn't have the top 107 mm gun. Probably was stuck with the 85 F3 from the kv 1, although I don't get why a single apcr round from any gun that guy could possibly have did not pen the AT 8s armor
