I think we're in an age, especially as it pertains to makeup enthusiasts, where pretty much every product that comes out is a solid "good". People who have very limited budgets or are very new to collecting still have room to curate an improved collection, but everyone who has been in the makeup space regularly trying and adding products the last few years probably has a dependable set of things they could use. That plus price hikes due to inflation are why I think we're really seeing a societal push towards thoughtful consumption rather than overconsumption. I know my collection has a lot of hits for me, so the prices really have me questioning every purchase like, "Do I >>>really
I've firmly decided that I'm only going to buy what I will absolutely, positively use and use often. Made that decision after getting severely burned on the Beautylish Lucky Bag this year. My Ipsy bag sub is paid for the next eight months, so that's going to have to satisfy my itch for new product.
Miri, great video! Yes, I think we all are on makeup fatigue. I know that I am. I've really looked hard at my collection and I don't use about 75 percent of it. So great video again...🎉
I'm on a no buy except for tools or adjustment drops. I don't use half of what I have, I need to trim it down and be way more intentional of the products I'm purchasing.
I am not buying liquid eyeshadow. I never use it no matter how good the formula is. I am not buying any single eyeshadows. I just don’t use them. I have some very beautiful shades and I just forget they even exist. I may try moving them to a different drawer to see if I use them more. It’s ridiculous to buy even one more when I never use the ones I already have. I want to say I will buy no more lipstick because I have so much and so many formulas. I could do just about any shade on the planet…but I know that’s a lie. I will totally buy a lipsticks or two in 2025. But…I am doing a “one in/one out” policy. I am not making more room in my drawers for more lipstick!
