Hi Alyssa! Great reaction video. Marcelito grew up in the streets of the Philippines and does not speak fluent English, having his wife interpret for him. His mother abandoned him at the age of seven and he learned to sing I would imagine to make money for food. I am half Filipino and try to keep up with what's going on with singers in my country. You may want to check out a group of sisters who traveled from the Philippines to the U.K. to compete in Britain's Got Talent. They were originally the Fourth Power but someone (Simon Cowell?) changed their name. Salamat po (thank you)!

Marcelito Pomoy 35 from the Philippines earned a standing ovation on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” by taking on both powerhouse singers Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. Pomoy sang Bocelli’s tenor part and Dion’s soprano part of their hit duet “The Prayer," at the same time, which is beyond words incredible! I can't believe the goosebumps I get everytime I listen to him perform both parts of The Prayer!!

He has a GOD given talent with dual voices of tenor/soprano, no formal voice lessons. He won the Grand final of the Philippines Got Talent 2, since then he became very popular in the Philippines and other foreign countries. He’s down to earth, very humble and sings very comfortable. He had a hard life growing up and didn’t realize about his talent till he was a teenager.

This is one of the best reactions I've seen of Marcelito singing The Prayer of the 40+ different reactions I've seen so far. Was that the best cover of that song that you've heard?
Your reaction was priceless! It's my understanding that Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song by listening to and mimicking a recording. His performance is gorgeous considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it. He speaks the Philipino broken english, but being self taught is also singing in English, Italian and Chinese. Possible more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7, and now is married and a father! His ambition serves him well in whatever he does!

hi.. i dont know if someone had already given you infos bout Marcelito Pomoy but here’s some...... When he was only months old, his father was jailed while his mother left them along with his younger sibling and went to Manila. He lived with his father in prison and was later adopted by a police officer. He only finished grade 3. Later he found out that he was adopted and ran away. He did odd jobs when he was a teenager (balut vendor, caretaker in a poultry) While doing poultry work, he started singing both male and female voices to while away loneliness (poultry houses are far from the city). He honed the skill then later entered contests in "Doble-Kara" (double-face). He later found his father (who coincidentally is a frequent buyer when he was selling "balut"). With the aim to look for his mother and other siblings in Manila, he tried his luck competing in "Talentadong Pinoy", but didn't make it. He later joined the second season of Pilipinas Got Talent and became the champion.

I’m new to this Marcelito party, but I’ve have been watching reaction videos all day. Yours was great. I love it when someone says they have chills within the first minute. Poor babies don’t know what they’re in for!
