    We got the Eufy because we wanted something stand alone and easy for our parents and nanny to use. The night mode didn’t work, I’m guessing because the infrared light on the camera wouldn’t turn on. I contacted Eufy and they said I needed to update the latest firmware on the monitor and the camera. I was able to do that on the monitor but not the camera. They tried to troubleshoot the issue but finally they’re asking me to do the update from a PC instead of my Mac. I don’t have a PC and either way I’ve done way too much troubleshooting for something that should have just worked right out of the box. Eufy has been a nightmare to work with and they don’t understand the urgency of having a baby monitor that works.

    Is the lollipop a true 1080p? I'm just looking for something that has a sharp picture. If it does I'll just stick with that I only wanted the higher-end ones because of the sharper picture I don't care about breathing monitoring.

    We already had the Lollipop but per your recommendation, we got the Eufy Spaceview as a backup since it doesn't require Wifi. It seems like a really great device! Unfortunately, when you buy it in the EU, the only languages installed are French, German, and Spanish. Attempting to update the firmware bricked the parent monitor. We got a replacement from Eufy but the same thing happened immediately. Unfortunately, we'll need to return it. I do not recommend the monitor to anyone who will need to update the firmware. We'll need to find a replacement in the meantime.

    Wondering if you could help me make a selection. Registered for owlet and hate it now. Looking for a monitor that has a app + parent control unit. I don’t want to log into a app each time when at home, but like it for work/babysitter. I’m not overly concerned with video quality but care about connectivity. I would like one that is easy to pack up and go to use at grandmas on a visit also.

    Do you have any information on what safety measures are in place for the various wifi monitors against hackers? We know how VTech was famously in hot water over some of their toys not having proper encryption and being hacked, so their products don't instill confidence in me.

    • @Fathercraft
      @Fathercraft  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, WiFi monitors are certainly only as good as the network they’re on so that’s definitely a consideration! The two options you outlined do probably seem like the way to go based on what you said.

Can the Nanit be mounted On the short side of the crib And still be able to track to sleep and use all the other features? I notice that nanit recommends mounting the monitor centered On the long side of the crib For better results but it doesn’t mention anything about it working on the short side

    Is there a monitor that you suggest with a handheld screen and an app available? My husband is not always on his phone or misses his phone notification so I worry that he may be missing a notification for the baby. I think a screen would work better for him but I would also like to see the baby while I’m at work to help me transition into working after postpartum

    yea... i just want a camera to wake up to motion so i can make sure my landlord doesn't enter my apartment when im not home. period. i'm not paying a subscription service to some cloud from China to record my home and save my personal data. Nope. wasn't born yesterday, but know nothing about tech. figured a $30 ebay camera would work, but nope. just need a camera to watch my doors. period. i had a teenager tell me about a baby monitor she used to make sure her foster parent didn't come into her room without permission. so i tried it. be weary of cheap cameras because they require a anonymous cloud subscription and who knows who keeps that video or sells your data.

    Dude. The Miku is trash. I spent an hour trying to connect it and nothing works. The app even has a tremendous number of 1 star reviews stating the same issues. Some reviews do see it worked/connected fine, but an alarming amount had my experience and it seems 50/50 on whether it’ll work for people. Avoid Miku.
