    Excellent job! Every home in America should have an LLC owned by a Trust. You can add Self Directed Solo 401k, Roth IRA, and HSA. ALL SELF DIRECTED so you keep more of that money and pay no taxes.

    Worst is when you’re a 1099 and they treat you like a W-2, dress code, when to show up, and how and what to do.

      That’s a labor law violation and that deserves a lawsuit

    An LLC also has to pay liability insurance which is quite a bit- esp. in construction.

      Yes - definitely something to consider!

    Great content John, but I think you should place more emphasis on the business expenses (utilities, food, travel, car payment, insurance, cell phone, etc.) that dramatically increase savings through the s corp structure. Additionally, what about distractions and corporate dividends? Isn’t that income that can be taxed differently?

    Excellent video! Thanks. Are there any situations in which a worker would end up paying LESS tax as an independent contractor, than if they were earning the same amount of money as an employee?

    This is great content; however, if one works as an Independent Consultant (1099) and or Corp 2 Corp as an IT/Digital Consultant, most firms would pay more per hour or day than one would receive as a Permanent/Full-time Employee. I see you mentioned that at the end of the video, but I would be interested in seeing more on that bit if that makes sense. Cheers

    • @NaviMarajCPA
      @NaviMarajCPA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, your question/comment makes sense. It really depends on how much value you assign to the benefits being offered if you were a W-2 employee. For example, if you have a spouse, and that spouse is an employee working somewhere with great health insurance, you can join their plan. Conversely, if your not married or your spouse's employer doesn't have health insurance, then you have to go shop for that yourself and maybe pay $1,000/month for it.

    They have me showing up to work at 9-5 no overtime ans the had me give up my workmans comp just to work there and i have fill out a weekly timesheet instead if daily and then they pay me when they want to .i even have it to where my job is 1099 employee

    Hey, Thank you for video! very informative. I hope you can answer this question and it makes sense. I make about $70k as a contractor through W-2. Would I save money on taxes if I created an LLC C-corp? It seems that I would, my employer does not pay health care, milage, retirement or PTO. I basically just get paid for what I do and they take taxes out instead of me having a 1099.

    Super confusing why John and spose pay income tax of 25.9K as full time employees, but only 19.2K as independent contractor. How does that work??? Why would the federal income tax decrease as independent contractor?

    Why is federal income tax rate is so different for John as employee and John as sole prop? I’m a little bit confused here, did you just assume there are some expense that reduce the total 120k tax liability?

    I am trying to figure this out.
    I am an employee and the company I am with won't do a 1099. Unfortunately..
    I'd be interested to know more on what things a W2 Employer could do to reduce their taxes.

    I'm freelancing for a tech company as a Project Manager...they're hiring me as a 1099 instead of a W2 employee. I am getting paid hourly and yearly I will be earning $300K working regular a regular 40 hour week. What would you recommend I do? this is the first time I'm working as a 1099 contractor any recommendations will be totally appreciated. How can I hire you?

    • @NaviMarajCPA
      @NaviMarajCPA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry - most people who ask me this question were married. In the future, I may do one without a spouse. Don't let the spouse income confuse you....it's just that whatever the spouses salary is in the video ($60k) would reduce the amount of federal and state income taxes paid. Focus more on the social security and medicare tax savings, those taxes would be the same with or without a spouse.

    Currently I gross 42.50 /hr as contracted and net 39.00 / hr. In 3 months I will be a full time convert. I will have to ask for 55.72 /hr to make the same money due to increase in taxes? Does that mean I will have to ask for around 60/hr?

    • @NaviMarajCPA
      @NaviMarajCPA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Herbert...a little confused by your questions. Are you going from contractor to employee or from employee to contractor? Either way, every scenario is slightly different so it will be difficult to answer here. If you want to, you can go to my website and schedule some time for us to talk through your scenario.

    I know this material slightly dated but the concepts are still the same I would say that you need to have a multiple of 2.15 just to be safe that way you're covering your taxes

    • @NaviMarajCPA
      @NaviMarajCPA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there....is the 2.15 multiple you are referencing related to hourly wage as an employee? To use an example, if you're earning $20/hour as a W-2 employee, you should ask for $43 ($20 x 2.15) an hour as an independent contractor?
