What Halloween III: season of the witch could of brought to the table if it was better received... we'll never know how creative the direction would of gone if it had taken that path...
This movie is a perfect example of Moustapha Akkad greed. He should have waited at least a year before putting this movie into production. But no he immediately went into Halloween 5, I have heard stories about them writing the script DURING FILMING, And the director was a pretentious asshole who was never a fan of Halloween movies to begin with. This movie was doomed to fail.
Rachel does a disappearing act in the attic. When Jamie enters the attic, Rachel's not in the chair. Then when Jamie runs out of the attic, again she isn't there.
Great rant this movie is bad but at least I can watch it over the 2 remakes 2 plot holes I got from imdb Plot hole 1. "We see the police, along with Jamie and Dr. Loomis, set up a stakeout at Michael Myers' house. But a few scenes later, we see that Michael Myers has an attic full of dead bodies. Why didn't the police find these when they searched the attic before the stakeout?" Plot hole 2. "We hear Tina whisper to her boyfriend Mike to pick her up at 8PM, at Rachel's house. A disguised Michael Myers appears at that time instead, but he had no way of knowing when or where to show up." The movie poster is also misleading because 1. Jamie has the clown costume on from the 4th movie but is never seen wearing it in this film. 2. The mask on the poster looks like the mask from the first film but looks nothing like it in this film.
Also another thing to mention is how when Jamie is in the attic and she’s sees that her dog Max is dead if you pause on that scene you can see that it is a plush dog. Cheapest fucking major slasher movie out there.
17:54 LMAO I watched this just for him to comment on the cop clown noises..... and I wasnt disappointed xD. I guess it's supposed to signify that they're goofy inept cops.. just overall goobs, but honestly... clown noises in Halloween? Lol
or if it had to be done we could had done without the physic power thing as that kinda stuff was handled better in friday the 13th part 7 or if that did that atleast kill tina off in ellies place lol
great job on the rant matt and i agree with everything you said this sequel was bad lol i hated the clown noises with the bumling cops loomis being an aasshole ne never came off as asshole in parts 1 2 and 4 tina was annoying lol and michael mayers crying? like wtf
The red monster creature during Doppelganger's infamous is more intimidating than Michael Myers is in this movie. It was able to lift a man twice it's size, and throw it out of a two story window WITHOUT it's bony arm breaking off! In this Michael CRIES from being called "Uncle"!! That's PATHETIC!!
Hey Matt I know nothing could have saved this film but I think the scene with Michael in the jail cell should have shown Michael sitting there ( With his mask OFF) in the shadows sitting up straight staring at the wall. It could have been a cool callback to the original Halloween. Instead we get this atrocious image of Michael hunched over still wearing his mask playing with his chains 😖
Words cannot even begin to describe the disappointment or the hatred I have for this movie. You see where a lot of people think that Halloween III just sucks because Michael Myers wasn’t in it, yeah Halloween 5 sucks because Michael Myers is in it among all the other reasons but you know what that’s the big one. Halloween 4 had the perfect ending Michael died the evil was passed on to Jamie. There could’ve been this interesting idea where OK now Jamie has the evil inside of her and she will continue on with Michael Myer’s Legacy and then eventually in the future she will past the evil on to someone else and it will just be a never ending continuing cycle and spread like a disease and it will strengthen John Carpenter’s whole persona about evil and why you can’t kill it and how the evil is out there no matter what. I mean honestly I would’ve been a lot more interested in that idea but no they make the dumbest decision ever by having the lamest excuse for Michael Myers still being alive. I will go as far to say that I thought the explanation for Michael Myers still being alive in Halloween resurrection was a little bit better then Halloween 5’s explanation I’m sorry I don’t want to see Michael Myers floating down the fucking river I’d rather see him swap clothing with a paramedic then see him float down the river go into a coma toast state and live in a hermits shack for an entire year it’s just retarded.
When I was younger I didn't hate this movie. Though I knew damn well it wasn't great, I didn't hate it. But looking back at it now as an adult, you realize how bad it really is. This is a prime example of why you don't abruptly rush a sequel. You have to take your time & be passionate about it. Completely wasted potential with really charming & previously well done characters/actors like Danielle Harris & Ellie Cornell.
Halloween 5 is one of the finest movies of its' kind ever made. Othenin-Girard was just about the only director in the series who actually understood what made the original what it was.
There’s no reason to think Michael didn’t poop or eat for a year at the beginning. He just didn’t do much until it was Halloween again because he never does anything until Halloween.
It was obvious this film was gonna be bad right from the outset when you have the once mysterious michael myers clumsily riding the rapids in full view, looking like a body builder, wearing that absurd mask. The first of a series of laughable scenes that run through the film, and then of course the icing on the cake - him sat in a prison cell with his mask still on, facing the floor as if dejected. So hilariously atrocious it's hard to believe it wasn't intended to be. Yet the bits where they tried to be funny, with the stupid cops and clown sounds, were the least funny of the entire film! More just baffling than anything else.
2018 has Laurie saying she prays every day he will escape. Which I think is pretty stupid thing to do considering if he escapes he's going to murder people
Trash sequel. Never liked this movie even when I was younger and that is still true to this day. Really disappointing to see where this franchise went after how good Halloween 4 ended up being.
Halloween 5 actually REDEEMED 4. Halloween 4 was good, but made a couple of critical mistakes that 5 came along and corrected. In so doing, they managed to craft one of the very finest movies of its' kind ever made. Halloween 4 was very good...Halloween 5 is GREAT...
I watched it on Halloween Day a few days ago as part of the Halloween film marathon (original timeline), and it was garbage. Hated the film. I have no plans to watch Halloween 6 (unless it's the producers cut), or the other 2 alternate timelines (B (H20, Resurrection) and C (Halloween 2018)). And don't even get me started with the 2007 remake.
Hey, Matt, in case you don’t know this, but Halloween 3 has a lower IMDB score than Halloween 5. Halloween 3 has a 5.0/10 and Halloween 5 has a 5.1/10 which is absolute bullshit. I don't understand how sequels that actually try something original and unique gets more shit on and has a lower IMDB score than a movie that has a mute protagonist who doesn’t have shit to do, cheap and uninspired kills, annoying and dumb characters, a sequel that makes its predecessor pointless by killing off its final girl in an Alien 3 way, makes the wise character a bumbling asshole drunk who threatens the main protagonist several times, a horrible and cheap killer mask, a scene where the antagonist fucking cries in front of his niece just because of being called uncle, and a movie that was rushed into production without a completed script. It’s sad that when sequels be their own thing and doing something different, it gets all shit on and hated on, but when they copy what the other predecessors did, they get all the praise and pass.
I watched H5 recently and I think Halloween Kills is just as bad as this movie, both movies gave me the same feeling while watching them just awful, but at least Halloween 5 has an ending compared to Halloween Kills

Ghostbusters II came out in '89 as well.

Rachel is so beautiful in this movie. In my version she's the lead.
OG fans of the original Channel of Matt knows what's up. Whenever he talks about this movie is always great.
Rachel's story continues with "Chips The War Dog" and "House Of The Dead".

I watched it today. It's the film where I die too. So much that I'm writing a director's cut on H5 Recut And Remastered--the GOOD version of H5.
Hey matt! i remember i saw this in theatres when it was out with my mom! i was a kid in 89
Jamie thinks Rachel left for the cabin, which I WANT to believe HAPPENED! I REALLY do!

We were supposed to get "Halloween 5-The Killer Inside Me".
Speaking of which, you should review the 2009 remake of Last House on the Left! I always thought that was a well done, satisfying flick!

This is the "Halloween" equivalent of Twilight with SHITTY BAD FANFICTION WRITING!
Decent characters in this movie other than Rachel and Jamie: Billy, Dr. Hart, Nurse Patsy, Max, Meeker, and Charlie.
Rachel was in "Chips The War Dog". She looks and acts like her "Halloween 4" self.
John Carpenter would be ASHAMED of this movie!
