I used to draw pictures of Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy and leave them out with a box saying 'please leave your autograph here'. I then used to sell them to my friends at school in exchange for chocolate or pokemon cards lmao

oh my god AND one time my mum couldn't find any pound coins so put money under my pillow in 20 pence pieces, so the next time i lost a tooth I left a note saying "don't leave change this time"

I used to write to the tooth fairy! I had this idea that you could only ask one question per tooth so i used to get really excited when I lost a tooth and could finally ask the tooth fairy what her favourite chocolate was etc.

I'm from Argentina and here we don't have a "Tooth Fairy" or any other type of fairy. Instead we have a mouse who is only known by his last name Pérez. He has the same job as the Tooth Fairy, but we don't write him letters. We just put our teeth under our pillows before going to sleep and in the morning there's supposed to be money instead.
I love hearing stories like these and see how children's minds and imagination work. The level of creativity they have is amazing.

Where I'm from (France) it's the "little mouse" that takes care of kids' teeth. One night I put a tooth under my pillow and the morning after I found a small piece of paper that read something like 'I'm writing this letter from my new computer, I used the biggest font so that you'd be able to read it blah blah little mouse", written in the smallest font possible. That was so sweet of my parents hahahaha

Okay so I was a very sceptical child so I never really believed in the tooth fairy and caught my mum in the act. Father Christmas on the other hand I kinda believed in him and wrote him letters every year. However they were just like "aw thanks santa, what's it like in the North Pole" no. I would constantly ask for some sort of proof of his existence. I even remembered his excuses from year to year until he had no excuse not to reveal himself and my parents stopped replying. 😂😂 I never thought anyone else did this sort of thing though! It's funny to hear what you did!

I don't think I ever believed in the Tooth Fairy, but I was a hardcore believer in Santa until I was like 13 years old. It was only last year that my mom told me that my aunt would put all the presents under the tree while she distracted me in the other room. They did go to incredible amounts of work, though, and even rang some bells to let us know that "Santa" was done.

these are pure gold! I love how much faith you had in what the tooth fairy could do. All I expected was a small amount of money and maybe a small toy replace it. I dont know if you have anymore childhood journals, but if you do you should read them haha.

I actually remember writing to the tooth fairy once- I hadnt realized you could communicate in that way until a friend told me, and the same friend also told me that she was getting a lot more money than I did. So naturally i thought I'd been ripped off and asked for more money, but also additional money for back pay hahahah. I think I got $2 total in the end and bragged to my parents about how adult it was that I'd taken the initiative to ask for more.

I used to make tiny steps out of my blocks and legos leading up from the floor so that if the Tooth Fairy's wings were tiered she could just walk up to my bed. I also had a bookshelf as my headboard, so I always set out a miniature tea set that I filled up with water so she'd have some refreshments at the top! Fun to remember these things :)

your obsession with s club 7 is very relatable to me. however, i did not write letters to the tooth fairy but i definitely believed in her. i believed in it even more so when i lost a tooth on holiday once, put it under my pillow and the next morning she left a euro! i think it just amazed me tbh that the tooth fairy was "international"

This explains so much! Now I understand why Steven's magic performances freak you out ... you really believed in magic when you were a kid! That's so sweet!! =)
Alas, I never wrote letters to Santa or the tooth fairy. I had an older brother (Ken), who told both my younger brother and I that there is no Santa Claus, tooth fairy, or any other magical creatures when we were 3 or 4 years old (really young), so I grew up knowing none of it was real (but it was important to pretend we thought it was so we wouldn't make our parents sad). I was a very light sleeper, so I always woke up when my mom would come for my tooth. My dad was sneakier, and when it was his turn to nab a tooth, he'd hug me and swipe the tooth while lifting me up away from my pillow in the hug (but I was savvy and realized what was happening because he never lifted me like that except when I'd lost a tooth). He never came in the middle of the night like mom because he wasn't going to lose sleep to make us believe in fairies. Dads. Lol

I wrote letters to the tooth fairy - mine was called Flora and my sister's called Fauna. We would write them on these tiny pieces of paper so that they were fairy sized and when we got letters back they were scented and always came with a tiny pressed flower for us to keep as a thank you.

  • @trossox

I wasn't sure about whether the tooth fairy existed - I'm Jewish so I didn't have santa, but I believed in the tooth fairy just enough to be terrified of someone in my room while I was asleep. My dad walked in before I went to bed after I lost my first tooth and handed me a dollar and said, "give me your tooth." I'm so glad he didn't pretend that the tooth fairy was real just to mess with me, that sounds like something I might do to any kids I have...

I use to write to the tooth fairy (Emma) when I was younger but I stopped as I no longer believe in it, even though I haven't lost all my teeth yet (I've lost 14). But my older brother use to write letter back to me, pretending to be the tooth fairy without my parents knowing. This was back when i was 8 and he was 10. I just think it is really sweet that he thought to do that without being asked to or anything like that. Also i love u Hannah!!!! i just found your channel and i have watched so much of it! I was obsessed with the tooth fairy when I was little but I don't think I wrote letters to her like you did, it was a kinda look up and pray situation xD. She would write back in teeny tiny handwriting about how beautiful my tooth was every single time. It became really obvious whether my mum or dad had written it by how untidy the notes were. She told me once that her name was Bonnie and when I found out the tooth fairy wasn't real I screamed at my parents something like "how could you have lied to me for my whole life". I still like to think I believe in magic though

My next door neighbour showed me a letter and a little fairy figurine she got from her fairy, and like you I saw this as definitive proof (and a way of getting gifts from fairyland), so I started writing my own. My granny was staying with us at the time so she wrote the first couple of letters in lovely delicate watercolour. She even painted a little 'self portrait' of herself with colourful butterfly wings, and a picture of her pet peacock. When she left, my Jamaican nanny started writing them. I noticed her new writing style, and slightly different dialect, but STILL believed Christabell when she told me she lost her painting skills (when I asked her to do a little painting like before, I got back a stick figure). I only figured it out when I saw my nanny's writing a couple of years later.

my mum used to make me and my brother write to the tooth fairy asking her to leave our tooth cos my mum wanted to keep them without us being suspicious xD and then I started writing letters asking what colour dress and wings and hair the tooth fairly had and asking all sorts and my mum wrote back, she used to change her handwriting and she said the tooth fairies name was Pepita and i TOTALLY believed it was real. I used to leave out my barbie table and chairs and plastic cake so she could have a tea party while I was asleep. but one day my brother just told me it wasn't real and I ran and asked my mum if it was true and she said yeah xD I don't think I ever rly believed in santa but the tooth fairy was my jam. bless my mum though she felt so bad for lying to me hhaha

I was on a bunk bed so I was sort of at eye height for my mum and while I was sobbing into her shoulder she reached into her pocket and put money under my pillow for me. I never wrote to the tooth fairy, but my sister did trick the tooth fairy once. She pretended that she dropped her tooth down the sink, and made a big deal of it, wrote a letter to the tooth fairy saying that she dropped it and got her dollar for it. About two weeks later she "pulled out" another tooth (it was the same tooth)! I had no idea until years later when she told me her trickery.

My mum's favourite story to tell me every damn Christmas is how I worked out Santa was not real not long after I turned 5 (like within a couple months as my birthday is September and it was a few weeks before Christmas).
She says that one day I stopped what I was doing and she could just see the cogs turning in my head. I then looked up at her and went, "Father Christmas isn't real, is he?"
She didn't want to spoil it but also didn't want to lie, so she asked me why I thought that, and she can't exactly remember my response but it was very thought out (the time to travel round the world and blahblahblah).
However, she'll never forget what I said next.
"The tooth fairy isn't real either, is she? But I still want the money."
    😂😂😂

My dad was not aware that he was supposed to do the whole tooth fairy thing, so I kept leaving my teeth under my pillow for months and nothing ever happened. Perhaps out of shame, I never did mention it to my dad. This must have meant that I was a really really awful person, since everyone else in the world was being visited by the fairy. I truly believe this experience has caused a great deal of emotional scarring. Fix me? 🌸

I did this too! One time I did a full questionnaire for the tooth fairy to fill out with like name? Age? What do you do with the teeth?

I don't remember anything I ever wrote to the tooth fairy but I do remember my dad taking his role as tooth fairy really seriously. He'd type out letters in a really tiny font and make them into teeny scrolls and I believed they were from the tooth fairy because I didn't think you could get a font that small. Once he forgot to collect my tooth but he wrote a letter from the tooth fairy queen talking about how the tooth finding systems had been failing and that the queen herself came to get my tooth and she was very sorry she was late. My tooth fairy was called Lorien (which I now realise my dad stole from Lord of the Rings) and I was way more devastated when I found out the she didn't exist than when I found out Father Christmas didn't :')

My older brother caught the 'tooth fairy' during the night and ran to tell me the next morning! I was about 4, but he (5) and I were smart enough to figure everything else out.... If the tooth fairy is mom, then so is Santa! But the Easter Bunny we had more difficulty believing because he hung our baskets to the ceiling fan
