      100%
      His opening monologue was a little subdued on his SNL return night, and I was worried they wouldn't let him cut loose like before. Boy was I wrong. He killed it! His presence was sorely needed and really made that night memorable. It just goes to show how talented he is, and how much his humor has been missed.
      Looking forward to seeing Dolemite, and especially Beverly Hills Cop 4, and of course his upcoming stand up. Netflix better not try and tame him. This P.C. world needs Axel Foley back!

      A lot of millennials do know how huge he is. He's been a star all our lives. You probably mean Gen Z but will learn, like any other celeb of the past, how influential he was. We watched his earlier works like Beverly Hills Cops, Coming to America, the classic SNL skits and his movies later family movies like Doctor DoLittle, The Nutty Professor, Shrek, Life, Dream Girls --the list goes on and on.

    Love Eddie Murphy. His one of the greatest comedian. Take away from this video at 6:05 🙏 i truly believe what he just said there is so powerful point. If you are grateful enough, in life you will come out of it no matter how hard life hits. Just remember there is someone out there in the world who has it worse then you. And you just have to be grateful for whatever you have. Has what kept me going with mine.

    Eddie is just such an awesome person! No wonder God has blessed him so much and I'm even happier for him for not taken God's blessings for granted. A black boy in america with 2 movies under his belt at 23 in 1984? That is still rare today, Jan. 1, 2020!
    He's a class act when it comes to paving ways for others, especially younger and black artists. Even in this new movie coming out, go to 0.49, you would see Wesley Snipes. Everyone knows what Wesley has gone through lately, from his problem with the IRS to losing the character to Terrence Howard in Empire; Eddie is still the first big name to cast him again after all his ordeal.
    It's pretty obvious he doesn't do what he does for others just to garner accolades or show off, judging from his character. If we all can lift one another up in our own little way, no matter how meagre; the world would be a much better place to live in.
    Per being grounded, I've always believed that there was a spiritual aspect to him as he just confirmed. With such an early success in the 80's and no drugs problems? I knew he was grounded. Remember that was the era of overdose prevalence - not to judge anyone but you all remember people like Richard Prior, Marvin Gaye et al? That overdose demon was real back then. Above all, a nice looking young man, with success & lots of money who chose to be married to one woman at a time with 10 children later? Eddie, much respect!!!!

    I cant believe Eddie Murphy never got an Oscar out of all the good movies he did back in the 80s???? What! That's messed up. Coming to America, Harlem Nights, 48 Hours, Trading Places, Boomerang 90s.. Geez. Eddie Rocked the 80s era. I saw Dolemite and that's nice he wanted to do a biography on the real person but to each it's own, not my cup of tea for funniest movie Eddie ever did. The 80s Eddie was the most hilarious, pure comedy from the heart no regrets and he talked about what was REAL @ 100% during that era.

    If you are high enough in your position to interview Eddie Murphy, you better be good. Eddie is a legendary comedian and what makes him stand out is he’s a man of character and dignity. The interviewer didn’t highlight these traits hardly, and if anything made this hard to sit through which I was initially excited to watch. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    • @Jgjules
      @Jgjules 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah nothing drives me more crazy than interviewers who take a dominant stance towards interviewing and feel they need to be really aggressive and control where the conversation goes. It’s such a disservice to the character of the individual and the whole point of the interview is to highlight not exploit (whether it’s intentional or not)

    This guy is an absolute LEGEND. White/Caucasian actors/comedians who've done less than half what he's accomplished are regarded as Legendary. Eddie Murphy has done so much in front and behind the scenes in the past 40 years - has remained true to the integrity and discipline of COMEDY - putting himself out there, being vulnerable, controversial, daring, & fearless - and most of the time it all went over people's heads. Such a Lifetime Legend. Thank you, Mr. Murphy. I hope you know you're forever appreciated by some people who get it.
