Yes, Colonial Williamsburg is a must visit! Their decorative arts museum is a wonder!❤ Always fun to see what you've brought home. I love the Lenox piece. I collect it also.
Ok, Savin Rock etched / flashed glass is my favorite. When we lived in up North in CT . We owned a house in West Haven 2 blocks an away from Savin Rock beach. Our house was an old beach cottage. Great memories our kids riding our bikes to the beach , stop off at Stowe’s seafood to get bite. All the above .
The green and white frog is very similar in pattern to the Herend figurines, they are blue and white with gold trim and are collectible/valuable. So glad you were able to nab that firebox for your hubby! Always look forward to your videos, thank you!
When I picked up the frog, the woman at the counter quickly pointed out that it wasn't Herend. She must have received a lot of questions and comments about that. I assured her that I didn't mind because I thought the frog was adorable anyway! (Of course, I then immediately looked up "Herend" because I wasn't familiar with it - I'm always learning something new). I'm so glad you enjoy the videos!
Next time your in Colchester go to Hermans diner. Little tiny greasy spoon!!! Owner Mackenzie makes the best delicious breakfast!!!! Husband and I drive there from Clinton because its so good!!!!
Growing up my parents had that moving bartender sitting on the bar We have the eagle hanging on our garage between the doors Kris that selling strategy makes sense
I love it! I hope seeing the bartender brought back some fond memories! When I was a kid, we had an eagle like that on our garage doors too - and in my last house, I did the same!
Hi Chris, I am so jealous! You have gone to my all time favorite place, "The Barn Sale" in Hamden, a place I used to haunt when I lived in North Haven more than 30 years ago. I no longer remember all the things I bought there, there were so many, except for the kitchen witch with her little fuzzy haired baby that I am looking at sitting on my antique trunk across the world where I live now, in Israel. You should definitely go to Williams burg, VA. Even though I haven't visited there in over 50 years, I'm certain it's even more wonderful than it was then. Thank you for your positive attitude, sweet smile and interesting videos.
It's nice to hear from someone who knows The Barn Sale! It's still a great place! I love that you have some Barn Sale representing all the way in Israel!
If you want to improve the black/white Wedgwood plates, soak them in hydrogen peroxide. It is usually $1 a bottle at Target or grocery stores. I soak mine in a stainless steel tub so the peroxide doesn't mess with my container. I soak mine for several days to get the best results as the HP does weaken over time.
I absolutely love your videos! You bring much needed smiles on my face. I also love just about everything you buy. I wish I could afford to buy all of it. I also enjoy learning about estate sales and store thrifting from you. I am recovering from a broken leg and planning to start shopping around for myself. Thank you so much for sharing.
OUCH! So sorry to hear about the broken leg! I hope you're on the mend. I'm so glad you enjoy the videos and the hauls! I have so much fun finding old, interesting things.
A little history the fair winds plates we had those in late 70’s my mom acquired large set through supermarket rewards program Waldheim’s Long Island chain-they went off campus 1983 with me to College, when I they went to my brothers off campus till 1989 at which time my brothers roommate at culinary school asked if he could keep them…. Nice memories
I so enjoy your channel. Portmeirion is my favorite too. The Holly and the Ivy is the pattern I love. It’s so very hard to find at estate sales. Thank you for giving us a glimpse of your fur babies each week.
Kris ❤ Love dollar items even eric's firebox really neat. Your China pieces are lovely. And I adore your little mini red riding house doll. You have a very discerning eye and always pick up such nice items. Take care and stay warm❤
Good morning. Fun haul. Things I like. I have the metal english tray in blue and white in my kitchen. Yours looked like a little different color. I have never seen this tray anywhere in my vintage travels since I bought mine a long time ago until now. I like blue and white. I think it’s a blue Willow pattern. Also, I also pick up Aynsley pembrook if it’s cheap enough when I find it. I’m not really a reseller but usually pick up stuff I like at cheap prices like you. I love the thrill of the hunt more than needing it. I just like beautiful things with some quality to them. A lot of the sellers I see on U Tube do not sell the kinds of things you do. And it is hard to find quality pieces in my area.
I couldn't agree with you more - the thrill of the hunt is the very best part! And it's so gratifying to find beautifully made, special items for a good price.
Haha! You're probably right! The difference between Iris getting the bug and me getting the bug is that I definitely wouldn't eat it. She definitely would. 🤣🤣
Hi Kris, I was watching another successful TH-cam thrifter and seller/booth owner, and she mentioned that her business really increased after she put a sign in her booth telling how to find her TH-cam videos. In case you aren’t already doing that, I thought I’d pass the info along. Best of luck selling in the new year!
I appreciate that! I have a sign that's similar to what you're describing, but mine is too small - I need to adjust. I'm also thinking about setting out business cards that people can take with them. Which TH-cam thrifter have you been watching? I love recommendations!
@ She calls her channel, “All Put Together”. She also has her picture on her sign to make it more personal. Her latest video is all about what worked for her last year and what didn’t, and how much she made. It’s very interesting.
I totally agree! I don't mind imperfections on my own pieces because it just adds to the interest. But when I resell, I try to get things in the best possible condition.
Omgoodness what a great haul!!! I'm in love with all of it. I think we need a worthington barn tour....sounds like a very cool spot! Play some cards, sip on bourbon!
I guessed it was Savin Rock! I remember watching when you showed one you had purchased and that was thousands of viewers ago. Your excitement was similar to this!
I'm definitely a Savin Rock addict. It's hard to find the pieces for a good price. There was another piece - not like the ruby flashed glass - that Eric recently tried to get for me. Someone outbid him at the last minute! It went for quite a bit of money.
Great day. Never “damaged”. *imperfections or blemishes will do ! Great items. Especially the little red riding hood, Granny and wolf ❤️ fyi great manicure has held up 💅
I'm so glad you liked the little red riding hood doll - it made my heart stop when I saw it. It's always great to find things that will sell well, but finding a nostalgic item is my absolute favorite. Sadly, the manicure is long gone - I miss it! (I'm so hard on my hands).
Great haul. Love watching your videos, you are so enthusiastic and bubbly! I’m glad I discovered your channel! Thrifting and antiquing are my favorite activities!👍
I'm so glad you enjoy the videos! It's so nice to have a place where we can talk about our shared love of thrifting and antiquing, isn't it? I have much work to do today, and I'm bribing myself with the promise of a thrifting trip tomorrow if I get it all done! 😂😂
Late to comment on this, but your approach to selling (eBay, then booth, then online auction, or occasional direct sale online) is fine. That said, I’ve found, after 20+ years of eBay selling, that adding Etsy to the mix as an outlet for certain “vintage” items a few years ago has been much more productive for me lately since I joined there in 2019. (Items must be 20 years old or older to be considered “vintage” there.) I list items that qualify on both sites concurrently and, if it sells on one, I immediately end the listing where it isn’t sold. (I have a basic eBay store subscription at $27.95/month and can list up to 250 items there at no listing cost.) Etsy charges 20cents every 3 months for each listing there, so you might want to consider it as an outlet. I also love the Fair Winds brown transfer-ware plates and other pieces. I have my own set and recently was able to purchase 10 dinner plates on FB Marketplace from a seller in my area. I grabbed them for $20 for all for resale - steal! - and they always sell for me. Cheers!
Hi Kris, AHHHH I was so thrilled for you when I saw the Savin Rock glass! Lol. I was sipping my coffee and when you pulled it out, I was like "oh WOW". (almost dripping my coffee down my chin).....lol. Great haul as usual. Have a great day. Deb
I remember when there was a fire box at the corner of my street in the 50s. There was no 911 and in an emergency you would run to the corner and pull it. Colonial Williamsburg is wonderful. And I believe the antiquing in VA is awesome.
Just found your channel over the weekend.I just LOVE it!!!! We love some of the same things. I might be interested in the cardinal mug or mugs. Have a wonderful day.
Kris, what a beautiful thrifting adventure you both had‼️ Just a suggestion, it might be financially advantageous for you to do some cross marketing to increase sales in your EBay Store. Print up a piece of marketing with a sweet photo, with information you have more items available if the buyer is interested, if they are serious. You could buy them in your Booth, and there would be no Shipping and Handling fees. Staples could print up some examples for you, pick one, frame it and put it out in your Booth‼️ This just may work for you ❤️👍❤️.
I love the Red Riding Hood doll I own a similar reproduction plantation doll of the 1800’s and you flip the dress to show a white face to a black face. White children were not allowed to play with black dolls and black children were not allowed to play with white dolls because it was the slave era. I also love the wedge wood plates so much! Will you be selling them on eBay? If so I hope you will sell them singly?
That's so fascinating - I never heard of that! (I love learning new things like this). I will definitely sell the Wedgwood plates. I had planned to sell them together, but if there is a specific plate you're interested in, feel free to email me and I'll sell it to you separately (no pressure). My email is Klindsay1388@gmail.com

Always fun to see what you've brought home. I love the Lenox piece. I collect it also.
Your man always has such a proud smile of excitement on his face when he's found a treasure. Pleasant to see.
they look so happy/bless them both
You're so right! His face lights up!
Kris, i love your haul! You are always so happy! ❤😅
I'm so glad you enjoyed the haul! If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life, right? 💕💕

Oh my gosh - we recently went there! The food was AMAZING! We shared the biscuits and gravy (among other things). It was sooooooo good!
You are charming and fun to watch! I have you now on my saved list! God bless😊
I'm so glad you enjoy the channel! Thank you for the very kind compliment! 💕💕
Green was my mom's favorite color too
I love that! I never cared much for the color, but lately I'm drawn to it more and more.

Hi I love that frog..
Isn't he the cutest? He sold pretty fast. I'll be sorry to see him go!

That's a great suggestion - thank you! If I can get the stains out, I think the plates will have a better chance of selling.
I absolutely love your videos! You bring much needed smiles on my face. I also love just about everything you buy. I wish I could afford to buy all of it. It's nice to hear from another Portmeirion fan! I find it once in a great while, but it's definitely the exception.
Great video!
Thank you! I didn't say "punctured tin" even once! 🤣🤣

I totally agree! I don't mind imperfections on my own pieces because it just adds to the interest. But when I resell, I try to get things in the best possible condition.
My Mom loved cardinals
They're so beautiful, especially in the winter when everything is a little bit gray.
Omgoodness what a great haul!!! I'm in love with all of it. I think we need a worthington barn tour....sounds like a very cool spot! Play some cards, sip on bourbon!
The barn is SO GOOD! I will definitely do a barn tour sometime soon. 👍🏻👍🏻
Your cats are beyond precious!
Your dogs too!
I'm so glad you enjoy them! They definitely add a lot of personality to our home!

My wedding china is a Williamsburg edition, Wedgewood, Chinese Flowers. I still love it after 31 years!
Love that pattern!
Oh my gosh - I just looked up your pattern and it's stunning! You're so lucky to have it!
@@aliceshea1670 It's gorgeous!

You were with me when I found the big Savin Rock glass - I almost fell over (as you know!) My little collection keeps growing....
That needlework reminds me of Pa - “P Buckley Moss” - very similar to- some great finds💕
I'm not familiar with that name - I'll definitely look it up!

Great haul, thanks for sharing, the best to you for this New Year. ♥️
I'm so glad you enjoyed the haul! I hope your New Year is off to a great start!
I can smell those Playskool wooden puzzles.
Oh my gosh, I totally know what you mean! That's so funny!
Charlie Weaver ! Hollywood Squares.
Oh my gosh - I didn't even think of that! Too funny!

I sure do!
How much will you be asking for the Wedgewood strawberry pattern covered dish?
It already sold - I think it went for around $12-ish, if memory serves.
great buy!
