Actually no- if you look in a mirror during a lucid dream it is only scary if you think it is scary. You have 100% control over lucid dreams so if you believe that if you look into a mirror and see a creepy version of yourself you will. A lot of youtubers say this for some reason. Mostly every lucid dream youtubers (yes those exist) are wrong in several ways.
FUN FACT: You can actually lose to Jackson after around 3 turns. If you guard or calm down on one of them, it'll say: *"Jackson catches you!"* And you'll get defeated instantly, dealing 999 damage. I got this on my 5TH PLAYTHROUGH!
This can only happen after not defeating Jackson for 5 turns. A similar thing happens with the fear of heights on the normal route where if you don’t complete the battle in 10 turns you get hurt 143 (a common number in the game, I think it means “I love you” if the wiki is correct) damage and die. In the Lost Library version of the fight, Acrophobia will deal 9999 damage to all party members instead of 143.
In my opinion I thought the Jackson fight was a joke fight because of kel saying a fight with him would be tough, then having the fight being impossible to lose.
I guess jackson was just Sunny being afraid of a "realistic looking monster" and that "battle" was him trying to overcome that fear. because after that fight, Kel is like "Hello, Earth to Sunny?" like Sunny was just staring at the poster

im not sure if anyone else has talked about this, but there is actually an incredibly scary scene when entering the house in the town area! upon entering the house, you can interact with a photo on the wall of mari with hair covering her face, similar to the hanging version of her. when you do this, she leaves the painting and a few seconds later it takes a screenshot of her behind you, and throughout the duration of being in the house she follows behind you but behaves like an object more than a part of your team where she slowly follows behind and cannot be walked through, which is honestly somehow super creepy- if you leave the house and re-enter, after walking a bit she reappears just kind of standing there waiting for you, followed by her following you again. the first time i did this, i lowkey nearly pissed my pants lol- honorable mention: if you eat the cake in the house, your molars get chomped through, idk if that sounds scary, but it creeped the hell outta me…
i absolutely hated being followed in blackspace. im not entirely sure why, but my brain was always convinced something bad would happen if whatever was following me touched me so i was rlly panicking trying to get away from it 😅
so wrapped up in the nostalgia of the yume nikki homage that the red maze is, I forgot to be scared until I bumped into Mari and her freaky semi-realistic sprite turned up lol
This game is the perfect example for the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover", I went in thinking it was a cute pastel game, and now I'm here typing this a few hours after I finished the game and saw the bad ending, that disturbed me, moral of the story, not everything that's colorful and pretty it's good
Those are scary, it's true But in my opinion this are the most scariest things on the game (it will be 5, and there's *SPOILER ALERT* so you're warned) 1. The transition of Mari's fight on the boss rush 2. Finding Hellmari on the mirror after or in the sections of Black Space 3. The source of Sunny's something (the last photo of the truth) 4. Sunny's image covered in blood and rotten skin (looking an a mirror while you're into finding out the truth section) 5. The phobias, specially how Thalassophobia is presented with that big grin and Arachnophobia with the fast suddenly attack Honorable mention: -The whole Black Space section -Running from something in the farm after you defeat Capt. Space Ex-boyfriend -All the times that Basil dies on Black Space If someone agrees or another stuff scared you, you're welcome to say on the comments ;)
The most traumatic scene for me was the punishment room, i’m a cat lover and this room felt like pure hell for me and this game making me desperate for s**cide for omori is SO fucked up. 10/10 game 😭

The black forest is impossible to access via the true route. The rest are possible by taking very specific routes in the limited black space warps and rooms there are... Black forest is only accessible via black space 2 and the hikikomori Castle, so yeah...

I can’t believe I missed that, I’ve played Omori through like 6 times 😭 There is another ladder in the red maze that brings you to this creepy red orb looking thing that is tangled in black stuff and the background is like omori’s emotions speeding behind it and on the sides you can see either Omori or Sunny’s side profile (my description doesn’t do it justice but I thought it was cool)
The ladder room made me. So insanely uncomfortable. It gave me the same feeling as the scene in silent hill 2 where james jumps down multiple holes, going down impossible lengths just to proceed in his adventure to find bis wife.
there's something that happened to me during the second night before you go to bed. I walked around the house interacting with everything that could be interacted with then i went to the bathroom and saw SOMETHING behind me. that was normal. cool. interacting with a couple other things later I go to the bathroom again and then behind me during 3:28 when mari screams that sprite was behind me. (this was in the sunny route to) totally gave me the heebie jeebies
5:15 Jackson does have a chance of attacking Sunny! I got it on my very first playthrough and thought it would be a hard ennemy. After Jackson killed Sunny once, I went back, beat him without him attacking me, and I just thought I got extra lucky there. In reality I got really lucky/unlucky when he attacked me cuz apparently it's super rare lol, but yeah, you can lose to Jackson.
Just to clear something up, it is possible to get the mirror jumpscare before you beat the pluto boss, but it will take around 25-35 times of interacting with the mirror.
1:11 // i managed to also get this in the omori route (hikikomori route) on day two, right after killing humphrey, getting the last key for 'welcome to blackspace' and before going into basils house to trigger blackspace, there is a part where you can go back into whitespace and stab yourself to wake up, it will still be day two at night and the closet cutscene triggered not sure if anyone has said this yet but yea!

Let me tell you boy, I already knew a lot of stuff in and about Omori through let’s plays but when I finally got the game I decided to wake up on 2 days left, and keep in mind…I was wearing headphones. I go downstairs to see the door with me innocently saying “Oh hey the closet door is here” and literally AS I FINISHED SAYING THAT I got the jump scare and since that was the only jump scare in Omori that I didn’t know about at the time I jumped and screamed and almost threw my headphones off of my head. What a fun wake up call to the nature of this game again :)

omocat really does a good job of representing mental illness with music, the music in fight with jackson perfectly describes what it's like to dissociate, and the voice you keep hearing over and over again could have been kel talking and trying to get sunny's attention

Hellmari has an unnaturaly long neck, this seems to be caused by hanging for a long time. Does this mean sunny just watched her dead body after the incident? Just anxiously hoped that nobody would notice? And for how long? It could have been hours, especially with how traumatic that event was. He could have watched her neck get stretched and ripped over time. And what if that was her at the moment of her discovery? Watched her get dismounted from the tree, reminded of his horrific work again? This is creating WAY too many theories!
