A lot of people don't know that one of her backup singers the gal with the long brunette hair is her sister-in-law ! She's married to Stevie's brother her name is Sara Nicks !
Her back up singers have been with her over 30 years. They deserve some love in her career. Watch her live version from the '70's. YT should have it. Even better.
Most people aren’t aware that I had an intense relationship with Stevie back in the 70’s. Unfortunately Stevie didn’t know about it either, but it was real I tell you!
Who is Stevie Nicks oh, she is a queen of Rock and two-time inductee the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Once with Fleetwood Mac and once as a solo artist. Stevie is the queen
My best friend and I saw her in Houston in Oct ‘23. She’s 71. Still rockin’, in the boots, still a total badass. I’ve seen her 3 times. All 3 concerts are still in my top 5. Rush and Steely Dan are right up there with her. She’s a legend. ✌🏻❤️from Texas
The guitar player is Waddy Wachtel , the drummer is Russ Kunkel and the background singers are Lori Nicks , her sister in law and Sharon Celani . Those 4 have been with Stevie since she first went solo in 1981. This was a special concert filmed in Chicago so they added the strings and the extra musicians. Stevie Nicks is also in the Band Fleetwood Mac in which she has written and sung some of the most iconic songs from the 70s and early 80s. Dreams, Rhiannon, Landslide, Sara, Gold Dust Woman, Gypsy, Silver Springs, Seven Wonders, Sisters of The Moon, Storms, Beautiful Child, illume, and others. She went solo in 81 and has produced fantastic solo works with, Edge of 17, Leather and Lace, Stop Dragging My Heart Around, After The Glitter Fades, Stand Back, Beauty And The Beast, NIGHTBIRD, Wild Heart, I Can’t Wait, Talk To Me, Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You, Rooms on Fire, Fall From Grace, Sorcerer, Planets Of The Universe, One More Big Time Rock and Roll Star, Battle Of The Dragon, Sleeping Angel, Show Them The Way, New Orleans and many more. Stevie Nicks was named The Queen of Rock And Roll by Rolling Stone Magazine back in the early 80s. She is the only female ever to be inducted twice into The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Once with Fleetwood Mac and once as a solo artist.
This was part of the PBS show Soundstage filmed at the WTTW studios in Chicago. I haven't found the whole concert but I have seen quite a few of the songs on TH-cam from this event.
Luv her.. I highly recommend these two performances. IMO the absolute best.. 💯 Gold Dust Woman - rare version with Bob Welch The Chain Flewtwood Mac live 1982 These will blow your mind they're so good..
If I remember correctly, this song has multiple meanings to Stevie. It is about the death of her uncle, Jonathan and also the death of John Lennon which occurred around the same time. The references about the dove and the night bird are there for good reason. It’s a powerful song written in a time of grief. Tom Petty’s wife actually inspired the title when she said “age of seventeen” to Stevie which became “Edge of Seventeen”. It’s a reference to her young cousin who she was with when her uncle passed. They were the only two people present, and the words “there was no one left standing in the hall” speaks to them being with only each other when it happened. Stevie is such a monumental artist.
Just saw her for the first time in Sacramento on the 12th and at 75 she came out and rocked the Golden One Center for two hours to a sold out show. ALL HAIL THE QUEEN!
Waddy Wachtel plays with her sense 70s or 80s, he killed this one, another live I really loved, great choice, Nick's vocals are low, and the back vocals does such a great match, I love this song.
The fast picking guitar part was originally written fo a synth becuse it was considered too difficult to maintain the tempo during the entire song . however Watchel insisted on doing live and he pulled it off ! incredible
I became a Stevie Nicks fan when I was 10 and first heard Stand Back. My older brothers loved heavy metal and my older sister liked oldies, neither of which appealed to me. I thought maybe I just didn't like modern music until I heard Stand Back on the radio. I worked odd jobs all summer to buy a radio and play it quietly 24/7 to wait for Stand Back to come on and turn it up. Stevie Nicks has written the sound track to my life.
Ohhhh! The best live version is at Red Rocks. Thats THE best! The energy was in incredible (yes, I was there!). She said later she had consumed so much coke, she didn't remember much.
I'm an Az. boy and was able to see her perform a few times. She put on great concerts with guest singers like Tom Petty. She also sang at her own concert venue "Compton Terrace".😎
Have seen her live many times over the decades. LOL. She is amazing live performer. I prefer her solo tours to experience her catalogue, versus Fleetwood Mac. She is in her 70s and still has very strong stage presence. She has shared over the years that she wanted to maintain a level of passion that she witnessed back in the day when she and Lindsey opened for Janis Joplin.
The orchestra was just for that tour. Her band had been with her for over 40 years. Waddy Watchell the guitarist has been with her since 1971 before she was in the band Fleetwood Mac with Lindey Buckingham. Check out the live version of this song from the actuall Bella Donna tour in 1981. Its more intense and her energy and vocals back then were tripple fire!
Stevie is one of the best three female singers of all time (the other two are Ann Wilson and Karen Carpenter). Try Fleetwood Mac's performance of "Rhiannon" on Midnight Special in 1976.
INSTANT SUBSCRIBE. Stevie Nicks is the most unique and interesting songwriter, singer and performer there's just nothing else like her. Check out her with Fleetwood Mac singing "Gold dust woman" from THE DANCE 🔥🔥🔥
I named my cat after her. She has soooo many other great songs that really show how magickal she is. 74 and still performing. What true goddess....Chaka Khan is another goddess, Sweet Thing is my fav song of hers.
😊❤ Hi, this was part of her solo tour. She is about 70 yrs old in this video. I recommend you watch The Midnight Special 1976. (So, about 50 yrs younger!) Featuring Fleetwood Mac and Stevie sings 'Rhiannon' ... actually she goes the f-off!! It builds up to it but it's is an absolutely iconic performance!!! 😊❤❤
Who is Stevie Nicks??? Reallly?? My 18 year old granddaughter knows who she is! Definitely a rabbit hole you should dive into! You should check out some of her live performances from when she was younger.
A number of her songs and fleetwood mac songs were cut down for radio and lost some of the rock element. You can hear it here and in the original live version of Rhiannon from the Midnight Special at the end of the set.
You Should watch the live version of Edge of seventeen from the Bella Donna white winged Dove tour in 1981. That is Stevie in her prime. Ypu should also watch her in Fleetwood Mac on the midnight special and the song Rhiannon. That is no holds barred young Stevie. The orchestra was just for that tour. Her band has been with her for 40 years and Waddy Watchel has been her band leader and guitarist since her days before Fleetwood Mac since 1971.
I know all her songs and History but still she can't be discounted as a TRUE artist. She's too good for this world, She's Awesome AF!! J/S you'll hear her songs in others.
The term is congas for the percussion player. Bongos are the little twin drums you hold between your legs and pound with your fingers, and what Matthew McConaughey was playing while stoned and nude when he was arrested in 1999.
th-cam.com/video/UmPgMc3R8zg/w-d-xo.html 👈🏾 This is Stevie Nicks in her prime 1981) the same song live) we all get older and lose something) especially singing voices )
This felt like a showcase for the guitarist more than a Stevie Nicks performance. I’m not sure if that was the intention or what, definitely not my favorite performance of this song. Good reaction though, I knew there was no way you hadn’t heard this song before, lol.
I've heard of Stevie Nicks, but I've never searched for them. Now, I did recognize the song once it started, but I never knew who actually played it. Thanks for checking out the video my friend 😎🧀🤘
She's the singer, of course, but are they not a band? Maybe there are not any constant members, sorry for assuming they are a group. I don't know much about them, as a group, or her in general.

Didn’t we all!
I was in lust with that woman much to the chagrin of my wife . Who teased me endlessly about it for decades .
Me too!, She had a pet name for me shed yell whenever I showed up. "Security". Great days.

Linda was the queen!
Stevie Nicks, the undisputed High Priestess of rock-n-roll

✌🏻❤️from Texas
She’s 76 in May
Stevie is a legend! She’s older than my mom (my mom is 73!) and she’s still heavily touring and sounds as good as ever!
How could not know stevie. She is a legand.
There's absolutely no one like Stevie Nicks! She's doing the exact same thing at 75 that she did at 25 and she is still rocking it!
You should DEFINITELY watch some 80s lives of Stevie Nicks.
I have never seen this live performance, but I have seen many. It is one of the best by far. It is simply awesome.
The guitar player is Waddy Wachtel , the drummer is Russ Kunkel and the background singers are Lori Nicks , her sister in law and Sharon Celani . The drummer is not RUSS KUNKEL..
@@redzone77p Correct. The drummer here is Jimmy Paxson.
In the video when she was younger it was Kunkel not this one.
Lol I was going to say how could you not know her &this song ....she is a badass still at her age...
First concert my parents took me to was fleet wood Mac! Thank you mom and dad ❤❤❤
Love love this...prob heard it 10,000 times and more! Saw her do it in SF in 97!!
She was 60 here and still sounds as good at 75. She is and always has been gorgeous
Stevie Nicks has many great songs! Silver Springs Live, Sarah , Gypsy, and Dreams are just a few
I am 72 and have been to hundreds of live shows. The experience has enriched my life beyond words!!
If you haven't listened to The Chain, It's a Must. Stevie was in the Band Fleetwood Mac Back then.
Hot Damn, Waddy!!!

Everyone should have a bongo drum! Live music is the best!! Korn ,
Stevie is one of the greatest rock singers and lyricists of all time. Beyonce, Floor Jansen, and alot others have said she was an influence to them.
The fast picking guitar part was originally written fo a synth becuse it was considered too difficult to maintain the tempo during the entire song .

This live version was awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome reaction, this took me back to JFK stadium many moons ago.
Fleetwood Mac live Sister of the Moon in 1982

Stand Back is like the partner song to Edge of Seventeen, imo. Phenomenal.
You should check out "The Chain" from the 1982 Fleetwood Mac "Mirage" tour. The whole concert is awesome!
Ohhhh! The best live version is at Red Rocks. Thats THE best! The energy was in incredible (yes, I was there!). She said later she had consumed so much coke, she didn't remember much.
She's a Rock Goddess! Check out The Midnight Special 1976 of her singing "Rhiannon" Also "Gold Dust Woman".
This is one of the more subdued versions of this song. Best live performance of this song was her first solo tour in 1981. She brings down the house.
A true Rock Goddess!!
I've watched this whole concert and it is FIRE!
Wow you have a lot to listen to if this is yourfirst time listening to Stevie .enjoy

Listen to 1981 White Wing Dove concert, absolutely her at her very best
As an aged care worker, if I had a client her age I would report those shoes as a hazard risk. But this is Stevie Nicks, what is age to her?
She is the queen of rock! She was one of the singers in Fleetwood Mac Band.
The Very Best of Stevie Nicks on CD or vinyl contains a live version of this song that is absolutely Killer!! Check it out.

Must add Linda Ronstadt to that trio, what a voice.
the original live video of this is a masterpiece i think with mick fleetwood on drums 80s?

However, what makes this is Waddy Wachtel's totally insane guitar.
The guitar player, Waddy Wachtel, also co-wrote Werewolves of London with Warren Zevon.
He also played with Linda Ronstadt among many others
A number of her songs and fleetwood mac songs were cut down for radio and lost some of the rock element. You can hear it here and in the original live version of Rhiannon from the Midnight Special at the end of the set.
i don't know when this concert happened, but she is now 74. Amazing voice and energy.
I love the power in Pat Benatar and Ann Wilson's voice but Stevie's raw voice and her stage presence can't be topped! :-)

The stage production is similar, in my opinion, to that of Nine Inch Nails's.
I think those are called Congo’s.
You're eyes....are rojo... hahaha
yeah Stevie puts scarfs and chains on her mic stand and then of course Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, he just has about 50 scarfs on his mic stand, ha
lmfao, yeah who's Stevie Nicks. And also, Stephen Tyler. I think he's from Romania or something.
Calliope incarnate
Compare this to her original official video of this song when it was first released.

Here she doesn't look like she misses Lindsey?
Bongos dude? How about congas.
Dude, check her out in her prime. This video just shows an aging rocker who can still hold a tune but is a shadow of her former glory.
