    Hey Andy watch out when you set the chain tension. If its correct on the center stand it will be tight like a bow string when its off the stand and sit on it.
    Also slightly preload the two 12mm adjusters bolts as they can come loose and wreck your swingarm and day.
    Nice looking machine mate.

    That is a great machine. I wish the tail section on my Yamaha came apart that easy. Italian engineering, sometimes it's great. Sometimes it's just Italian. Take care m8. Thanks for the video.

    As for the seat. My seat on the ST4S looked like new and was soft enough. But it was just to narrow. My bike being yelow I went to Sergeant and purchased my replacement. Black with yellow piping. I use the factory topcase way more than the sidecases. So I took them off when not in use to help preserve the finish. Enjoyed the video.

    You might need Ventura's swivel mounts that go between your rack and brackets. On my S4RS I found that these continually came loose and even with loctite, wasn't happy. Also, with the rack going inside the brackets, water gets in and rust forms. I thought the join should have been the other way round to keep water out. I haven't found a tougher, better thought out alternative though.

    One of my helmets, a Nolan as it turns out, fits in my Vespa and my AGVs don't fit. It's more the shape than the size that causes the problem I think. Nice Bike Andy. Thanks for the video. Nice shirt too. Spent the day today with the guys from Bunbury at our Ovest event. 160+ Italian bikes in the park.

    Sweet bike. Makes me wish I had my 2008 VFR800 again. Now with that bike, the factory panniers could swallow a medium Shoei RF1200 full face no probs. Keep up the great vids!

    Andy, purchase pannier bag liners in case of rubbish weather, because I’m telling you now, Ducati panniers let water in & hold it in there even if the rubber in the grooves are still good. Also, it’s easier to carry the liner in to your room than bulky panniers. Other than this, you’ve got another classic Ducati tearing up Tassie!🇦🇺

      Hi Steve, I have purchased a couple of cheap duffel bags for that purpose. I know it’s preferable to leave the road grime on the bike and carry a clean bag into the hotel. Do you know of anyone who makes inner bags for these things? Or will first gen Multistrada ones fit? I can’t seem to find anything more suitable than what I bought, which isn’t ideal.

    Just check the measurements again i think and how they're mounted. I understand that the Ventura racks are all the same size, regardless of what type of bike you have. That means there should be an identical gap between the two L brackets on any bike once put together. It should be close though I've always found them to be a bit out needing some "assistance" to line up right

    I've been considering the Ducati STs myself, so I'm really happy to see this new line of videos! Can you tell me a bit about why you purchased an ST3 over the ST4? Did Ducati take a wrong turn with the ST4? Thanks!

    • @ANDY5
      @ANDY5 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Chris, I’m just following Toine Van den Biggelaar’s advice. It’s mostly around engine reliability and lower maintenance costs. Some four valve engines of this era had issues with damaged rockers and camshafts due to delaminating of the hard coating. In Toine’s words, the ST3 engine is bulletproof.

    If it is anything like my Moto Guzzi, the way to get that rack to fit is some stupid brackets Ventura supply. If you bought the rack and brackets together, they would have supplied it. I made a video highlighting this as I thought it was a poor design.
