- This is our daughter Raelynn. She has several seizures every day.
I know it can feel strange to "like" a video such as this, but it really would help us keep making videos about her life and medical care. This helps other families going through similar things.

It s amazing that you adopted a child with disabilities. It s difficult enough having to take care for your own special needs child and you do it because you love your own biological child. It takes courage, love and strenght to adopt a child with complex needs. It s just amazing ❤❤❤

Even though this is two years ago, i still love watching this video. 🥺 Dealing with epilepsy and other disabilites is not fun, I would know. Raelynn inspires me every day. 🥰

But how would you feel if you were minimally verbal to communicate how your own image is represented? I'm not saying she isn't verbal however, it seems like she is forced into this because of who may be taking advantage of her. Seems like coercing which goes against TH-cams Child Safety Policy.
I've actually asked her many times if she minds being recorded. She's never given any indication that she cares. We show her many of the videos that we've made, and she enjoys watching them. She even chooses them herself using her eye gaze, so they seem to be some of her favorite videos to watch.

I have myoclonic seizures and tonic clonic seizures, I have seizures every single day and lots of them , luckily not always grandmals , and I’ll only have really violent uncontrollable body jerks that will sometimes get bad…. What helps me a lot is when I start getting freaked out is learning how to breathe, Lots of people will freak themselves out into a grandmal seizure. Everyone suffering with seizures learn how to breathe at your suggested breath rate…. Hang in there we got this

I feel for her, I put my seizure video on my youtube channel because I just wouldn't believe that such movements could be done when I have a seizure while sleeping, so my wife recorded it for me. I feel sad for myself and anyone else who has seizures. I actually didn't know anything about seizures till I had my first one in September of 2020. If anyone gots any advice for us, please share it.
Sorry to hear you started having seizures. Have you talked with your doctor about it? There can be various causes for seizures, so a neurologist would be helpful in determining why you have them and if something like medication, diet, or surgery could help reduce or eliminate them. An EEG could tell them a lot.
@@HopeAndSunshine I've been to the hospital every time and seen my doctor and a neurologist, i had an EEG and an epilepsy test done, so far they found nothing and no reason for it. They got me talking 750mg Keppra twice a day but I seem to still get them for some reason.
@@globaleffect1969 Sorry to hear that. Nothing has eliminated my daughter's seizures either. Her VNS and diet have helped to reduce them the most. Medication helps nominally. She gets a small dose of Clonazepam every night at bedtime, but that's not a solution for during the day every day or else she would sleep all the time.

Raelynn has only bitten her tongue a couple times. She does often pee after a seizure. Hope you're doing ok

No worries, I think she has a pretty good life. 😁 No, she can't talk, walk, or do the things that we usually take for granted, but she's happy most of the time and part of our happy family. 😁

Do people really need to see this? My God. Your poor daughter deserves to live without being on camera for everyone to see her. She doesn't have a choice SMH
I can assure you, she doesn't care. If she were able to comprehend it, I would hope she would choose to share her life so that others can be encouraged, informed, and have the same hope we have despite her struggles 🙏
@@HopeAndSunshine how do you know she doesn't care? And I appreciate and I understand where you're going and trying to get at with her encouraging people in all that. However I just feel that she might not want to be seen like this in some ways. You just don't know. Look you're the parents you do what you please. I just have a hard time with families that expose their children in this way for views. Maybe I'm wrong and that's not what you're all here for and I apologize if I'm coming out like that but I just feel that there are ways to still tell her story without exposing her this way. But again, it's your channel in your child you do as you please.
I appreciate your feedback. I've definitely thought through these things, and I'm comfortable showing what we do. And I actually agree that the channel is mostly getting to the point where I've shown enough of the same kinds of seizures, so I haven't been showing nearly as many lately. If her seizures change significantly, we will begin to show more of them again to help others recognize them and know what to do. Thanks again for your thoughts.
