I just got back from Yellowstone. I was o.k. tent camping in the park's established campgrounds, but I chickened out at a Shoshone National Forest campground. 4 sites about 7 miles from the main road. I slept in my car. I'm from the Midwest. I love Montana and Wyoming, but it's not my comfort zone due to my lack of knowledge. Thank you for taking us along. Beautiful.
Great day hike , long , hard a lot of climbing steep to get up to the lake. Pretty clean nice lake and heard there is fish in the lake. Great to see an enjoy a beautiful sunny perfect temperature hike. Thank you Stan god bless you always!
I did Teepee Creek, almost to Skyrim but basically off trail (not by choice) and came back down and finally met up with Daley Creek trail that same day!!! I hope to work up to doing an 18 mile round trip one day. By mile 8 my feet, ankles and knees are killing me. You definitely inspire me :-)
@@richarddouglas3094 that is a very good question. I did it by judging the size. But it could have been a small grizzly also. I am just walking along and saw it and my impression was black bear. This area has both black bear and grizzly bears in it, so it is the same with the ant piles, with no clear evidence, I am basically going with my best guess.
I've noticed more low-flying aircraft this summer over our corner of the park, much lower than 2000 feet AGL. Aircraft that I do not believe are Park Service. I genuinely dislike that. Are they not showing up on radar in this part of the Park, so they can keep getting away with it?
Hi Stan. Thanks for sharing another beautiful video. I’m a little less then a month from coming back out there. Any idea when the peak fall color will be in this year?
Thank you, Stan! I needed this today. Question: Does the forest service make those camp sites with the fire ring of rocks. I don't mean to show my ignorance, but just wondering if hikers can make their own or not.🤔
@@geniemedford9200 you can not make your own. These are designated back country campsites made by YNP. So you would need to get familiar with all the Yellowstone rules if you wanted to camp. I think all of there campsites are pretty nice.
I’m a new subscriber, but we hike in the northern end of the park as you do and I’ve learned so much from you. Can you recommend the Garmin GPS device best for our use in YNP. Willing to spend up to $400. Would like color topo map function. Thank you!

Thanks for the view. It is so nice to be able to go on your hikes and see the beauty around.
What a brilliant hike my friend! Scenes are absolutely majestic 🥾🥾

Beautiful day on a nice trail, thanks for sharing.
I enjoy every hike with Stan! My calves burn every time we get to the end of the video! Great videos!
Very nice Stan 🎉
I can smell this hike. Been to Yellowstone many times. My favorite park.
Nice trek Stan; Looks like the mosquitos and horse flies are (finally) gone!~~~
Beautiful hike !
Thanks for bringing us along.

Looks quite dry.. ☕️😎 Thks for the hike
Thanks for sharing Stan. At 8:15 min into video how were you able to discern the scat pile as being that of a black bear and not a grizz? Thank you

I think they just get away with it.

I can't say. But it seems like you should be starting to get colors when you come out.

@@janebond0079 as you can see, I use the inReach Explorer Plus. I need that because of all the solo hiking that I do.
Wow, 1 mile difference in measurement! That seems like a lot to me.
Yes it is. But these are old mileage estimates made before GPS.
Any fish in the lake?
I think you can fly over the park with a minimum altitude of 2000ft
