    The only way to have a ParkSmart system is to have OptiIdle along with ParkSmart. Having one or the other will not keep a driver comfortable in the extremist of temperatures.

    It does not stay on. The heater keeps shutting off after 1-2hrs of running with batteries 75% charged. Ever since DPF/DEF system all of the trucks are garbage n with the high maintenance costs trucking is not even worth it...

    I’ve had two of these. 2013 and 2017 cascadia. Works fine for me with up to 14 hours of runtime and reliable recharge. Love the system.

    I have a 2017 cascadia I can't believe I've got to watch hours worth of videos in order to get the APU running the right way, the owner said turn the key all the way to the left and you can operate it but I don't believe him I think it will drain the batteries... So more wasted time watching videos 😡😡😡 I truly miss my 2000 Freightliner classic XL, it had none of this garbage on it

    Sooo,when you use the unit in the bunk ,should your ignition be in the off or neutral position?

    • @James-ol6rw
      @James-ol6rw 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ignition is off and truck in neutral with brake set, as if you were parking and leaving the truck.

      What a bunch of complicated garbage I think I'll just let the truck run in idle 😡

      Just leave the truck running and turn on the AC... That's the only thing that seems to make sense to me

    It kills engine batteries and there's no disconnect button, not good it's not changing batteries

    • @James-ol6rw
      @James-ol6rw 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Engine batteries (4 of them) are not affected at all. Accessory batteries (4 of them) are used to power the ac and espar diesel bunk heater. Batters are deep cycle agm batteries and I have never had a failure of the batteries (except when they are old ( 4 yrs) and need to be replaced.

      I’ve had no such problem with the start batteries. The parksmart system works on its own batteries and is designed to shut off rather than drain the start batteries.

      I can't believe the owner of my company said turn the key all the way to the left and turn on the AC, what a dipshit 😁🥴 it will drain the batteries
