  • Here is a corrected version of my video, "If You Don't Like the Philippines, Just Leave!" The created commons video clip with the inverted flag has been replaced. Toward the end, I respond to some of the comments the original video got.

I found the Philippines to be a fun place to live because of the culture in general. I lived there from 2001 until late 2023 and spent MOST of my time with Kids. I held monthly birthday parties for all the kids, I had other special dinners for them, I fixed bikes and aired up basket balls and replaced NETS for Basketball all the time just to mention a few things. I agree with the idea that it's more fun in the Philippines because of the constant Carnival atmosphere all the street food, and selling of anything on the street, all the reaons they find to have festivals and parties....hell they even have a party when people die, for me it was a lot of fun to live in that culture and as hard as it is sometimes the best advice is to KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT and don't express all those opinion you have about what you don't like. Just shut up and keep your opinions to yourself. That's my two cents worth after calling the Philippines home for 20 years plus

We have freedom of speech here and you can say what you want without being deported. FOS here is very well recognized unlike any other countries where you can be jailed.

@@kolinstewart1254 There are limits to that, but it's not what the video is about. The point of the video is to push back against the common retort, "Just leave." People say that type of thing without realizing that some people (such as myself) can't leave. I have to live here for my kids. And besides that, I like living here. This place has been my home for years.

Sir i think you got it wrong! Its not because you dont like the place because of something that you leave or you can be deported! This is the thing, if you do t do anything wro g, be at peace! Dont do unto others what you dont want others do to you.

    • @AFAMunplugged

@travelw.b12oo3 I am at peace. This video is about the fact that many of us who have negative things to say about the Philippines can't "just leave." Leaving isn't an option for me. Besides that, my complaints and concerns are valid and shouldn't be dismissed. By the way, not doing anything wrong doesn't keep anyone safe here. Innocent people are victimized all the time here. Because of corruption and injustice, I have personal friends who did nothing wrong and are locked away in a jail cell to this day.

@AFAMunplugged , sir, love the Philippines and live like a Filipino! Appreciate what you have and just enjoy!! Get back with your ex! Filipinas are very forgiving as long as you show your sincerity and love of her family! Most Filipinas are one man one woman. .... but if you bring your American pride of individuality in the PH it will be horrible because you will only see the flaws and not what makes you stay

I do love the Philippines. I speak Tagalog and my own kids are Filipino (Fil-Am). One of my best friends is Filipino. Getting back together with my ex is not going to happen, but we do get along and share our kids. I get along with her and her family. 👍
