Some people will say his father is too strict and a disciplinarian, but all the hard work pays off in the end in some shape or form. I see so many kids that obviously grew up without any discipline or guidance by their fathers.

His father is not only strict to physical training He always teach him to be a humble person and respect others Father reads many books first and Son has to follow up his memo from book mark Many many Thx to his father 🙏
You can tell his father's strictness and training really did pay off a lot. Sonny literally has no weak foot, his goals with both his left and right foot are just so amazing!!
There's a lot of parents who act like strict disciplinarians but dont actually put in the work to help them like Sonnys dad. They just yell at their kids to do better without actually giving them the tools to do so. Theres a difference.
Action speaks louder than words. This is absolute commitment and discipline which few, if any, can rival. There are many so-called professional players who could learn from Sonny and his dad what true professionalism is. If the rest of the Spurs team has the same attitude, it'll strike fear in the other Premier League teams, bar none. Bielsa would love to have someone like Sonny play his kind of football.
I admire trained athletes more than gifted ones. Not saying that Son isn't talented, he obviously is otherwise he wouldn't be playing at the very top level.
@@ellis1469 "what even is talent?" Talent is the relative ease with which a person learns and masters a new skill. Talent is relative. For example, if you have a 100 kids, and you teach them to kick ball, then most of the children will take a certain amount of time to learn. A few children will take much longer and a few children will learn much faster. We call the children who learn much faster than expected, "more talented." To learn a skill, you need both the physical ability to perform it and the psychological aptitude to learn it.
When a Korean father says he was "harsh" to the children, it doesn't mean yelling. As a former athlete born and raised in ROK til 14yrs old before moving overseas to train, i fully support the "love"
I dread to think about the scenes at the Son household after Spurs lost the Champions League final. No seriously, Son's dad is the type of guy that'd make his son do ball mastery drills in the front room at 28 years old.
Timo Werner is more like a track and field athlete than a soccer player. Looking at his goal determination in the Premier League, it is questionable how he scored many goals in the Bundesliga and came to Chelsea for a high transfer fee. Of course, he was impressive in the Bundesliga only for one season, so it may be a natural result in some ways.

I personally hope Son leaves Spurs because he's not gonna get any silverware at Spurs any time soon and it would be a massive shame if the greatest Asian footballer of all time doesn't win any big trophies. Perhaps the only bigger club I can think of where Son could join is PSG since Pochettino is there.
I feel like he does this to keep his father happy, I cant see it having much significance in changing his ability, there are specialists at the club who are payed to do this.
I disagree. Football is about muscle memory. You slack off from your routine, your intensity will drop. Look at Bale, didn't play for 2 years and his intensity dropped. Dele Ali thought he's made it and doesn't put so much into training. He's a bench warmer now. David Beckham took 100 freekicks every 2 days after training. I could go on. Football is about practice, the more you do it the better. Sonny and his Dad understand this.
Ruling your child with an iron fist has big disadvantages that this father is too myopic to notice. As the saying goes, "When the cat is away, the mice will play." Look what happened when Son was at his first Asian Cup tournament: he gained 4 kg, because without his father instructing him, he couldn't control his own appetite. Maybe he was enjoying the night life a bit too much as well, because there was once a scandal in the Asian Cup held in Indonesia that emerged when stories emerged of the players going out many nights during this tournament when they were eliminated early. So the poor lifestyle discipline seems to be a sort of cultural symptom of too much external discipline and strictness from an early age. A far better approach would be to nurture intrinsic motivation to follow a disciplined lifestyle rather than make the young player dependent on strict father figures.
Its all good, but looking at other videos with sons father he comes off as controling. He even dictates what kind of furniture son is supposed to have,💀
Listen here, you may never know what is like having a dad like him. Sonny wouldn't be here without his father's dedication and sacrifice. Would you rather see an athlete with all kinds of scandals and headlines in every tabloid magazine for being arrogant and disrespectful like many Western players? More Western kids need parents like Son's father!! Look how young people act these days!!
You're so rude. Son's dad was a soccer player and he didn't want his son to play soccer. Because he knows how hard it is. But Son wanted to be a soccer player, and he dedicated Son to being the best player. You don't seem to have a dad to help you achieve your dreams.
