    I've only been a PT since 2015. I've already seen more businesses close and colleagues quit in the past 2 years than the number of years I've been in practice. Business acumen is sorely lacking in our industry. Thank you fo advocating for maintaining the bottom line by becoming more resourceful and efficient from the top down rather than trying to squeeze one more drop from the bottom up. Which has already been squeezed beyond reason.

      If I could could have a dollar for the number of times I hear the word “advocate” amongst PT conversation I would be a millionaire. When you have to plead in desperation for a career then it’s usually a sign that it’s not a good career. I’ve worked in the PT industry for 5 years now and I can without a doubt say that this industry is a clown job. Silly stretch bands and 1-2 lbs dummy bells are a complete joke. This industry is always filled with drama of some kind too, whether it’s over the newest intervention that they claim is going to fix people when really all it is is a sham that cons people into spending their hard earned dollars with minimal results. I’ve even actually heard several PTs who go as far as to say “Well if it’s placebo then that’s fine with me.” In other words, even if the problem is still there, those PTs are satisfied with being a pseudo hypnotherapist in disguise and just making the patient believe it’s better. I’ve worked in many PT settings and I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed anyone doing any legit strength training. It’s always some silly stretch band that you could do with your pinky finger muscle. And somehow these PTs feel satisfied with their work at the end of the day. It’s a joke and I wish the PT field would honestly just fold because honestly everything they do is literally easily found on the Internet. If you had an injury you could easily rehab yourself at home. You don’t need to go drive to some clinic to have them toss you a stretchy band for 20 minutes followed by a cold pack for 10 min…just save your gas and look up some good quality videos at home and your body tissues will naturally heal over time on their own usually. If they don’t then maybe it really is time for surgery, but that brings me to another subject. These PTs are all about hating on surgeons by trying to sway all these patients to come to PT first. They act like they have the cure over the surgeon and are always in this fight with surgeons. It makes me laugh how they go back and forth on that. I’ve seen so many patients with chronic low back pain that have been to PT for tons of visits only to be in the same boat as when they started. In all honesty, most of the time it’s just overweight people that probably wouldn’t have back pain anymore if they could lose weight. But PT wants you to think some special little transverse abdominal deadbug exercise is going to fix it…what a joke 😂 They’ll stick their hand under your low back and tell you to push down on it just to get you to do this mini crunch and that’s supposed to somehow fix the problem

    Start an employee-owned PT clinic. Management receives bonuses & pay raises based on reducing YOUR pay & benefits ... and reducing the care we patients receive. Healthcare's increasingly bloated with mgmt & admins who never worked hands-on with patients. Please help us patients get the care we need: start your own clinic or join a union.

      Indeed. As an executive from a large corporation that really had amazing business savy, I've been observing business practices in this field for the past 6 years. Everyone is failing. Literally. And everyone uses the asinine approaches seen in this video. It was just this week that I decided no more. I'll never work for someone else in this field again. I'm bringing real business experience to this field. And the retooling will follow a top - down approach instead of a bottom - up approach.

      Why are there no unions in many corporate healthcare jobs? All I’ve ever seen is workers being treated like dogs with no voice. If a l large enough Union could come against them by outnumbering them it would perhaps change, but no unions exists in healthcare to my knowledge. I’ve never seen one.

    Not sure if you have a video on that, but according to the APTA workforce projections, there will be 25k extra DPTs in the market by 2030. The reason for that is the number of new or existing DPT programs growing exponentially.

      Will this lead to an oversaturation similar to the pharmacy (PharmD), Psychologist (Masters, PhD or PsychD), and other healthcare fields currently facing oversaturation and little to no jobs available after graduation?

      Search for concierge PTs in your area and you may find someone who does house calls.

    Sorry for commenting on the wrong video . Actually I saw your previous video where you reviewed some Posture braces and I wanted to buy one. So I decided to comment on that video as well as this video too so that you see it easily 😅 . I have couple of questions . Is Comfybrace available in India ? I searched it on Indian version of Amazon but It doesn't show the product . My second question is what is the difference between Posture braces and those posture correctors which cover the whole back in addition to what posture brace covers .

    Physical therapy doesn’t work!
    When we force PTs to eval in 30 min then let’s PTAs do all the treatment.

    I think PT aides should be fired. PT's pay cut significantly and PTA's pay raised to same as PT

    • @PTProgress
      @PTProgress  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s an interesting suggestion. So everyone in the clinic should be paid the same? Even though PTs are the only professional licensed by states to perform Physical Therapy evaluations. Are you a PTA by chance?
