Did you know sperm whales are the loudest animal on Earth? What do you think about this standoff between the orcas and the sperm whale?
Like a pack of wolves, out running they prey and killing it.
Nat Geo WILD i thought that the loudest mammal are blue whale?😊
Looks manufactured. No actual footage of a standoff. I think it's hyped to be violent but nothing happened. For all I know they weren't in the same place. Just a couple two second clips of them doesn't do the 'standoff' claim any justice.
Sperm whales rule
Looks fake, they're not on screen together.
Imagine how unchallengeable a pod of bull sperm whales would be. 1 bull can fight an entire pod of orcas, imagine a whole pod of bulls.
Livyatan was more powerful. Unlike modern sperm whales which feed primarily on cephalopods, livyatan fed on other large sea animals occupying an ecological niche similar to orcas.
@@thuggeegaming659 that one also had like 30 cm teeths
The sperm whales would be the king of the ocean i think
@@thuggeegaming659 well yeah. There were other species from the past that could challenge a bull sperm whale. Nothing that could challenge it 1v1 today though. A whole pod of orcas will run if they know a bull sperm whales nearby (they could probably kill it, granted 2 or 3 of them would probably die in the process. Orcas know better then to try and fight something that’s both more intelligent and more dangerous then they are)
@@thuggeegaming659livyatan had more weopons indeed but the cachalot absolutely dogwalks livyatan
"I don't like the name 'Whale Killers'. We need to come up with something better."
"How about Killer Whales?"
"My god... You're a genius!"
I was watching a documentary yesterday and they were calling the blackfish
I love Sperm Whales! They are so mysterious. Occasionally I like to see the Orcas fail. The Orcas won't starve.
Diane Deatherage what you love more extras sperm Diana?
sperm whales for the win
Orcas have an 50% success rate on average
yeah
Bk Jeong Which is high right? Compare to land mammal predetors
The only whale I know that will fight back against killer whales.
Bradley C Price yeah? Wow
@Bradley C Price i thinks sperms are bigger ir comparable to humbacks
All whales fight back as best they can. All of 'em.
I think one Bull Sperm Whale is enough to destroy a pods of whale. Due to its massive size. And Mouth.
@Arav Herunde now
Louder than a gunshot? Ummmm... Try 5 million times louder. It is thought they they can communicate with other whales ACROSS THE WORLD. Their clicks literally paralyze humans.
No, their clicks can kill humans. Their clicks are 230 dicebels, louder than the average grenade blasts. 210 dicebels of sound can cause internal damage or death, imagine 230.
What i read in a book, if you hear whales' clicking sound, it would be the last thing you'll be hearing, because after that your ears are technically explode
I wish they could click to death those wishing them harm.
I thought sperm whales were the loudest
It could kill humans, not just paralyzed.
sperm whales can hold their breath for 2 hours. thats almost impossible to drown
and can dive deeper than any other whale
That number drops quick when theyre exerting more energy though
@@grognakthedestroyerattorne3211i mean they are still comfortable enough to prey on giant squids who are VERY ferocious. Not going without a fight.
@@CocoLocoToco The only recorded adult giant squid we have measured was barely over half a ton.
@@Brandon-br7tc Thats pretty nice for a cephalopod
so glad to see Orcas losing once in a while
I guess only if it’s against another whale yeah lol otherwise no, I’m fine with them being undefeated
I wonder what sea life Orcas drove to extinction in the sea because of how successful of hunters they are.
Megalodon.
No really, it's a plausible theory
Could be megs
@@davidls187 lmao no its literally documented how the meg died already and it wasn’t orca’s
Only species weakened by other factors.
Successful hunters don't drive prey to extinction, as that may make them starve. Orcas are limited by their low birth rate and long calf raising period, the way evolution compensates for their intelligence and power.
@@davidls187 no it's not, orcas never even killed an adult sperm whale, what makes you think they can kill a megalodon who's similar in size but much more predatory with bigger jaws, more bite force, and much sharper teeth
'sperm whales' I wonder if someone was drunk when naming that awesome animal
they look like sperms ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wonder if they were discovered by a boat full of crude young men being paid their daily wages in salted pork and beer a few decades after the discovery of spermatozoa under the first microscopes, none of whom having seen a woman in 6 months...
They were.
maybe the person who found them and named them saw them breeding
I guess because the original name is Cachalot
If this was the incident I think it was, it should be noted that the sperm whales actually outnumbered the attacking pod of orcas.
Why should that be noted? Orcas almost always outnumber their prey. It's rarely a fair fight.
wow! I once saw humpback pod defeats the orca pod but this is rare
Wow for once the Orcas lose
Jordan Ahamed IKR
Orcas don’t mess with full grown bull sperm whales. They’re too big an aggressive. That’s why they go after the young or weak.
Pong Poull Der Führer I don't think orcas would tackle with a Megalodon, 1 bite can ripp an orca in half
Orcas could take the megalodon, sharks are far dumber than whales or any marine mammal for that matter. Orcas would easily be able to outsmart the meg.
@@funnelvortex7722 even 2 orcas could kill meg if they just rammed to its gills that will probably kill the shark in short amount of time
1:00 Sometimes you gotta appreciate having lots of earwax. :P
If only the blue whale would fight like this
Dang that's the fight... nothing to see folks we were just playing 😭😭 🤣🤣 like bullying the bully 😐😭
Sperm whales are really tough, yet orcas and pilot whales still bully them from time to time, amazing
Gandalf the Tsaagan usually they'll back down of theirs a Bull Sperm Whale
Not a healthy bull Sperm Whale. Those things will send a pod of Orcas scattering in a few minutes.
Bullying failed
say NO to bullying:)
@@baum6721 nothing bullies a bull. Only thing in the ocean capable of killing them 1v1 is a human w/a gun.
The bull sperm whales could kill with powerful blow from tail and their clicking could kill entire pod, if nearer.
It does not apply to all creatures. Bull Sperm Whales usually use their clicks to avoid Orcas.
You forget their strongest weapon: their heads. They can harden it to withstand pressure when diving up to 2 km. They have sunk ships and can simply blow orca's internal organs when ramming. So it's not only 18-22 meters of length nor it's the clicks or huge and powerful teeth. It's everything put together. Sperm whale bulls are the most dangerous whale of all. Don't forget a bull can reach 22-23 meters long which is bigger than female blue whales (males can grow up to 30 meters)
@@jiroshiroyuki5236 No, I'm pretty sure it does. There are no rules in the most hostile place on the planet.
@@lougomes2912 This.
@@monstermaker73 "im pretty sure", basing at your personal opinion? well keep that to yourself. there is a research that proves that Bull sperm whale avoids Orca.
love sperm whales, they hunt giant squid in the deepest depths of the ocean and have sound-canons wow. also orcas are no match a sperm whale bull is not something orca's would mess with.
They are amazing animals. My guess here is this was a pod of female Sperm whales with a calf or young one. And the Orcas tried to separate it for the kill. Correct about a Bull Sperm whale. Who also travel in pods before reaching 20 years old. Can't think of any Apex predator that could match a pod of Bulls. Or even come close.
I wanted to be able to hear them.
If you could hear them you would die from how loud they are
So how come there are never records of their loud clicks? Based on the video, orcas ran away from sappy Muzak.
Because they were filming not audio recording? It's underwater lol
@@paplooEscobar so what? Sound travels better through water than through air. If an animal makes really loud sounds, you would expect at least one recording.
There are many audio records of their loud clicks. I don't know why you claim there aren't.
@@own4801 Keep believing Nasa
@@bigmoose7I don't see what NASA has to do with the extensive documentation of whale calls across the planet. They use satellites to track whales, though.
Click loud enough to defend against Killer Whales…
I was imagining those bass competition cars. 🔊
It looks really murky down there misty like a lamb in the mist...foggy
Thumbs up if you love Orcas because of Free Willy.
habrá traducción en español??
orcas can defeat any other ocean animal, but with sperm whales....good luck.
i love orca
Jesus
dude wtf ur on every sperm whale vs orcas vid XDXD
Jevonic Dexter me to
Forbidden love
wow. that is incredibly seeing 2 pods of whales in one thing, but they arent the same species.
Sperm whales are hunters of Colossus squids ....their gourmet calamari😂😂😂
Sperm whales can also dive much deeper than Orcas. And hold their breath for hours. While the Orca needs to come up every 10-15 minutes.
Well done world 🌎
About a T-Rex roar
Clock, click boom 💥
wow😱
Cool video of nothing happening
this might be gris...
I’m not a big fan of orcas.
Medium fan?
@@tappajaav Small fan.
@@SadMoribund Modesty fits you!
Or they could bite them
There was a lot more sperm whales then orcas.
Laboon🐳
Yo stop scaring the orca it thinks you a shark bro
Boy, orcas laugh in the face of sharks, THEY LITERALLY EAT THEM REGULARLY, So no, an orca would definitely NOT be scared in the face of a shark, in fact its the complete opposite, they would be Happy!
Guys... 1 Sperm whale > 1 Orca
The clicks of the sperm whale repels them, otherwise the orcas would hunt succesfully the sperm whales ..
🐋 Orcas are the lions 🦁 of 🌊 ocean
And male sperm whales are the 20 foot Nile Crocodiles who eat Lions.
Sperm whales are the strongest animals
No wonder we are being lead into temporary nations hey
Wow
Good!!! I hate orcas!
Do Sperms use sound to stun prey? Any research on this?
It's an exaggeration , it doesn't stun their prey.
If they actually do stun them, they shouldn't have any scratches from hunting giant squids
@@jiroshiroyuki5236 Squids can't hear so they don't get stunned as easily, not only that but their bodies are also a lot more gelatinous than a mammals, making them much more resistant to vibrations, the clicks of a sperm whale CAN stun their prey and it WILL kill a human that's swimming nearby just from the sound.
@@userzero6555 that is a bust, their clicks cant stun. while it can kill Humans, it wont kill other animals, they use their sound at hunting but its not actually for stunning their prey but they use it for effective hunting. Sperm whale sound has a vibration, even if squids cant hear they can feel vibration, so thats another bust at your first statement. you should do a research. it was proven that the Sperm Whale dont use their CLICKS FOR STUNNING.
Sperm whales forever ❤❤
10 orcas x 10 Sperm Whales lol
Haha...orcas...lose....I knew they can't hit up ...a sperm whale...they can drown it easily they can hold their breath for 2 hours.and it's the loudest whale....the used their click to fight
Bjkkkk
👍🏼👏
Pilot & Sperm whales the only 1s that’ll fight Orca
