      Looks manufactured. No actual footage of a standoff. I think it's hyped to be violent but nothing happened. For all I know they weren't in the same place. Just a couple two second clips of them doesn't do the 'standoff' claim any justice.

    Imagine how unchallengeable a pod of bull sperm whales would be. 1 bull can fight an entire pod of orcas, imagine a whole pod of bulls.

      Livyatan was more powerful. Unlike modern sperm whales which feed primarily on cephalopods, livyatan fed on other large sea animals occupying an ecological niche similar to orcas.

      @@thuggeegaming659 well yeah. There were other species from the past that could challenge a bull sperm whale. Nothing that could challenge it 1v1 today though. A whole pod of orcas will run if they know a bull sperm whales nearby (they could probably kill it, granted 2 or 3 of them would probably die in the process. Orcas know better then to try and fight something that’s both more intelligent and more dangerous then they are)

    I love Sperm Whales! They are so mysterious. Occasionally I like to see the Orcas fail. The Orcas won't starve.

    Louder than a gunshot? Ummmm... Try 5 million times louder. It is thought they they can communicate with other whales ACROSS THE WORLD. Their clicks literally paralyze humans.

      No, their clicks can kill humans. Their clicks are 230 dicebels, louder than the average grenade blasts. 210 dicebels of sound can cause internal damage or death, imagine 230.

    sperm whales can hold their breath for 2 hours. thats almost impossible to drown

      Only species weakened by other factors.
      Successful hunters don't drive prey to extinction, as that may make them starve. Orcas are limited by their low birth rate and long calf raising period, the way evolution compensates for their intelligence and power.

    If this was the incident I think it was, it should be noted that the sperm whales actually outnumbered the attacking pod of orcas.

      Why should that be noted? Orcas almost always outnumber their prey. It's rarely a fair fight.

      Orcas don’t mess with full grown bull sperm whales. They’re too big an aggressive. That’s why they go after the young or weak.

      Orcas could take the megalodon, sharks are far dumber than whales or any marine mammal for that matter. Orcas would easily be able to outsmart the meg.

    The bull sperm whales could kill with powerful blow from tail and their clicking could kill entire pod, if nearer.

      It does not apply to all creatures. Bull Sperm Whales usually use their clicks to avoid Orcas.

      You forget their strongest weapon: their heads. They can harden it to withstand pressure when diving up to 2 km. They have sunk ships and can simply blow orca's internal organs when ramming. So it's not only 18-22 meters of length nor it's the clicks or huge and powerful teeth. It's everything put together. Sperm whale bulls are the most dangerous whale of all. Don't forget a bull can reach 22-23 meters long which is bigger than female blue whales (males can grow up to 30 meters)

    love sperm whales, they hunt giant squid in the deepest depths of the ocean and have sound-canons wow. also orcas are no match a sperm whale bull is not something orca's would mess with.

      They are amazing animals. My guess here is this was a pod of female Sperm whales with a calf or young one. And the Orcas tried to separate it for the kill. Correct about a Bull Sperm whale. Who also travel in pods before reaching 20 years old. Can't think of any Apex predator that could match a pod of Bulls. Or even come close.

    Sperm whales can also dive much deeper than Orcas. And hold their breath for hours. While the Orca needs to come up every 10-15 minutes.

      @@jiroshiroyuki5236 Squids can't hear so they don't get stunned as easily, not only that but their bodies are also a lot more gelatinous than a mammals, making them much more resistant to vibrations, the clicks of a sperm whale CAN stun their prey and it WILL kill a human that's swimming nearby just from the sound.

      @@userzero6555 that is a bust, their clicks cant stun. while it can kill Humans, it wont kill other animals, they use their sound at hunting but its not actually for stunning their prey but they use it for effective hunting. Sperm whale sound has a vibration, even if squids cant hear they can feel vibration, so thats another bust at your first statement. you should do a research. it was proven that the Sperm Whale dont use their CLICKS FOR STUNNING.
