Thanks for this detailled video ! I have purchased a 33WH version of this product, and was looking on how to open and disconnect the Battery in order to replace it with the 66WH version instead, as it was cheaper this way. It was not intended initially, but my purchase on Amazon did not specify this caracteristic, and i didn't paid attention. It may void the warranty but i don't care. Thanks for all theses detailled explanation, at least, i'm informed. Wishing that the BIOS do not totally reset when switching the battery. Not a big deal if it happen, but it's more about taking attention about the Bitlocker/TPM mecanism at reboot next.
@Ethan Quinn Quirine Not yet, as i have a lot of work to do recently ! But i have received the battery 2 weeks ago.
@Ethan Quinn Quirine Just done the battery change today and yes it works ! You just have to remove the previous battery, by pulling the metallic stuff back on the battery connector, then try to pull up the white connector of the battery. Then remove all plastic / foam placeholders Asus put for the empty space of the small 33WH battery. Remove screws, and then put your 66WH battery instead, put screws, connect the white connector, and you are done !

This is a great video - just what I needed - thanks!! I've been inside many a PC and Laptop, but have nothing close to removing the tiny little screws on the ASUS ExpertBook B9450. I will definitely be buying a tool kit - anyone know what type (I think maybe Torx) and especially size bit I need to make sure I get?
If you go with a set you will get a bunch of torx sizes anyway. Btw what you need for most notebooks are: Torx 5 to 7. ;)

All done - now have 2 SSDs - am looking into setting up a mirror - not as simple as I would have imagined - and not sure it's worth the effort since I do daily backups.

If I only want to put in a second SSD, do I need to disconnect the battery? Bought a new one and don‘t have so much experience.
You "don't have to", it is just a precautions action if accidentally you short something during the installation process.

It's soldered in the motherboard so basically it can't be replaced or removed. So if it's damaged or something happen, your laptop's pretty much f**ked

Quick and maybe dumb question but i wanna make sure... are there some compatibility issues upgrading from the 33Wh to the 66Wh battery (if you have experience with it of course)? Every I7/8Go RAM/ 1To SSD B9450 that i've found online seem to come only with the 33Wh, so i wouldn't want to waste almost 2 000€ if i can't upgrade the battery because of some slight modifications that prevent the bigger battery to fit.

I was also disappointed to find this, but it is how the business works these days. They dont want you to give money to others for parts, but rather pay an overprice for it. A small consolidation is that the soldered ram has more channels so might be faster than replaceable RAM?
