  • Marelux MX-R5 Underwater Housing (marelux.co) for the Canon R5 Mirrorless Camera and 15-35mm R-Series Lens.
    Review by: brettstanley.com
Marelux housing is built from high grade aluminum alloy which provides durability and can withstand even the toughest beating. Ergonomics is also top-notch, all camera controls are readily available at your fingertips and maintain a small footprint which makes it great to travel with. Buttons are clearly labeled. It is very easy as well to assemble and installing the camera to the housing is a breeze with its quick release plate. It also has a depth rating of 100m. Find out what we think of Marelux Underwater Housings.
    Key Features:
    Housing Locking System
The dual locking system design provides security and minimal effort to lock your housing. In addition, it has a special feature which prevents accidental unlocking but still very easy to open if you need to change your battery or memory card.
    Port Locking Design
Secures your port and port extensions in place with one simple click with its built-in locking system.
    Flash Trigger (not included)
This flash trigger converts the electronic signal from your camera into a optical signal which triggers your strobe. The flash trigger also has a very long battery life - 10,000 triggers with the (2) CR2032 batteries
    Camera Plate
The housing comes with a quick release camera plate which makes camera installation a breeze. Also, the plate locks in place to the housing and can be easily be installed and removed. Once in place, the camera is secure to the housing.

Hi Brett, thank you for the review! Do you use the RF15-35 f2.8 lens on this setup? Do you feel that is better than the RF14-35 f4 ?

I tested with the 15-35 2.8 as I like a fast lens, but I'm sure the 14 would be fine :)

At the bottom of the tray, there is a tool to do exactly that. It's next to the screw ☺

That's right, I did mention that I liked that feature :)

Seems to be very similar than Nauticam housing.

It’s definitely a similar design, but how different can they really make them? The Marelux does have some cool features that Nauticam doesn’t from what I can gather.

@@BrettStanleyPhotography What features it has over Nauticam?

@@juhanivaihkonenunderwater the coloured o-ring for one - although you might be able to get third party ones for Nauticam? I’m not sure. It also has a place to store a tool to be able to remove the camera from the sled, which I almost always forget - it’s very handy. I found out about that after I filmed the review unfortunately. I also like that the pressure release valve is pull rather than push, making accidentally hitting it as you replace the cap much harder. They’re small differences but still important :)
