      That would be there first demo at 11 feet ,I haven't been caravaning much, but ride indain roadmaster motercycle, with elite camper, getting a bit acky at 57years and sore Darren Wilson, he also helped design vision rv and zone in his other life, with the spec that it offers , and I don't really think the stories of trusting aussie over, over seas ,have looked at many but living in Esperance w.a it's pretty much, get something that I no will last and good resale factors, have a gander on skye rv 16.6 on line see the spec, like you say every body has a budget, stay safe to everyone, regards Warren

    Good fun video and felt like us when we were trying to choose a camper 😂. We ended up spending way more that planned but happy and can’t wait. We ordered a Lifestyle Reconn R2SE which is Australia company and designed and built 100% her in Brisbane. Best kitchen and storage in any hybrid period 👌

    Love the model of this channel testing things out, always look forward to it.
    Jayco really does have the basic concept and layout(s) that work sorted.. even their website it more usable. yes the product build is unreliable off the floor and people expect things to fall over but Jayco have a massive base of people and aftermarket supplies to sort it out.. its weird no one else has taken their model and tried to replicate it.. its like Jayco then everyone else trying to do the "super van"

    The MDC seem to be great value with many options, good design and lots of lithium and solar.

      Yep - there's 6 solid brands that all fit the bill - depends on what layout you like and the price - didn't fit into Tracey's budget in this case.

    Wouldn’t mind something along these lines to tow behind the 150 Prado with 3 tonne tow limit.
    Only issue I can see? 🤷‍♂️
    I won’t tow anything single axle for extended touring.
    A blowout at 100kph on one wheel can drag you across the road into oncoming traffic or off the road into trees ditches & rocks etc.
    Also, if you have an issue for eg with one bearing / hub, or rim / studs & nuts on a single axle trailer so that you can’t just fit the spare to get you to help in the nearest town, you have to call a tilt tray truck at great expense.
    With a dual axle, you can jack up the one damaged hub & ratchet strap it up into place well off the ground & limp into the next town on 3 wheels to get help.
    In my opinion extended touring on one axle it’s just a question of time before you end up stuck somewhere or having to leave your stranded van unattended on the side of the road while you go for help if your out of cell service area.
    Also with 4 wheels you get twice the tyre floatation for off road soft sand & beaches.
    Thats just my life experience, others mileage may vary. 👍

      Sorry Ian I thought I'd answered you a long time ago! I agree with your single axle observation for long term touring in a caravan however many have been doing this for ever without issue - a well maintained van goes a long way when it comes to avoiding issues. If the gear is top of the range (larger hubs and bearing etc) the chances of a major fail are much less. I like the fact you can get yourself out of trouble with 4 wheels and they certainly are much more stable on the road - I guess it depends how larger van you are wanting to tow. Thanks for your comments, much appreciated.

    I remember seeing the first hybrid Chinese models coming in 2019 for 32k...double the price in 5 years. That goes for nearly all caravans, it's insane!

    • @caravansbythecampfire
      @caravansbythecampfire  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Mixos_place sure is - the components are way more expansive than back then and the standard higher by far - all vans appear crazy expensive! But, the past 2 shows have seen, I'd say, 10k price reductions across the board. Interesting.
