I am trying to find a mech like that for craft purposes but all I can find is the stupid dynamo ones you have to keep cranking rather then wind it up and let it run until the spring runs out. Any help would be nice.

Hi, I was just given one of these but it’s missing the hand crank on the back. Been looking all over and can’t find parts. Would you happen to know where I could get a new/used one? Is there anything special about the crank other than the 12 point notch it goes into? If so, would you be willing/able to email pictures and perhaps some dimensions? I could draw one up and 3D print it. Thanks! Pretty cool content. My dad used to work at a TV repair shop and we’re also into rocketry. Largest one I built was 4.5’-5’ tall with 3 F series engines rigged in parallel.

I took some pictures of the crank that I can send to you. Send me an email to mguessva@gmail.com and I'll forward them to you. Let me know what dimensions that you need and I'll send those also. I'm glad that you are enjoying the channel. The motor in the big white rocket was a single M class which gets the 60lb rocket to about 5,000 feet.

How do you repair a noisy winder

I didn't do any work on the winder mechanism. I have three of these and all the winders are fairly noisy while running and winding.

My'n work but sometimes it unwinds at full speed and make a noise like a jet engine. Any ideas how to fix that?

I'm not sure what would cause that. The only issue that I have seen is the bad capacitors.

I used to have one and the gears suddenly stripped out when unwinding. Belt still intact but mech self destructed.
