Should you Visit Disney World in January 2024?! Crazy Crowds & Lunch at Animal Kingdom Lodge

I have been wanting to make a video for a while talking about the Disney World crowd trends I've been seeing recently. What's interesting is I found the Christmas Eve and Christmas day crowds were actually nothing in comparison to the crowds that come to Disney in the days after Christmas and extending into January. Living in Florida for my 3rd January I've actually found January has consistently been one of the busiest months to visit Disney World. I think a lot of people choose to celebrate Christmas at home and then head to the Disney parks in the days after Christmas while still on their holiday breaks to celebrate New Years. Come January the crowds stick around as we go into the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend. Let me know in the comments your experience visiting the parks this time of year.
In this vlog we visit Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village for to-go lunch at Sanaa and to enjoy the grounds of Animal Kingdom Lodge. I also share clips from my visit to Epcot before New Years Eve on December 30th when the busy crowds began appearing.

It is my dream to one day visited all the international Disney Parks as well! My travel interests also go beyond the Disney Parks, I love vlogging my cruise vacations and trips to all-inclusive resorts!
I am from Pennsylvania and grew up in a small town outside of Philadelphia. My dream is to soon relocate to the Orlando area and live near Disney!

January in the past has always been a great time to visit WDW. However we always avoid the race weekends. Also keep in mind there are discounts out as well. The first week in February has always been good for us too. Happy New Year! I hope you’re feeling 100% better.

For after Christmas that was crazy how Busy Epcot was. Living with the Land even had a long wait. I would not have expected that. Maybe after the marathon running crowds will die down to shorter crowds and wait times. As always another awesome vlog Meg!!😊
I’m currently staying at Bay Lake Tower and temporarily forgot it was MLK weekend until your brought it up! You should check out the Top of the World Lounge sometime if you can get access to it. Nice drink selection and great fireworks view! Saw Enchantment tonight since it was the after hours event.
It was the (basic) fresh fruit cups and 🥨s that held me over as a kid 😂
When I was a CM (DAK🦖), by far the most chill day of the year was Christmas Day, especially in the morning - of the people who chose to even come to the parks for the actual holiday, for the most part they’d get a later start (🤔maybe there were presents to open or breakfast/brunch to be had). Christmas Eve evening was also usually very chill, especially after 3-4pm ish.
We did spend a good amount of time advising people who were shocked by holiday crowds that some of the least busy times were (late) January/Early Feb, so maybe they’ve been listening and it’ll slow down some then.
Kids meals are the best! I’ve noticed at work, since we have a lot of corporate clients, that they’re just now getting back to the office and ordering things. Later than the last few years at least. I always liked going the last week of January after the race crowd leaves but won’t be there til April this year.

My birthday often falls on or very close to mlk weekend, and my aunt kept asking me why I never go to Disney ON my actual birthday or my birthday weekend. I'm like: why would I pay double for flights to fight double the crowds when I can go in early December or early February instead!? 😂
I’ve also heard January is a “slower “ time…. We just returned home after a week at Disney… it was busy, but manageable ! And it wasn’t even festival time yet. Still had a great time 🥰 I’m trying that cold brew next time! Yummy

Nice hack . To eat from a table service restaurant with no tip and from the kid’s menu. NICE . I went in July last and ate off the kids menu most off the time, but only quick service or resorts food court. And at the price you can have 4 meals a day if still hungry . New dining plan

Lets face it WDW has no limit now on how much they are crowding guests like sardines. Years ago jan was normal but that was long time ago. Its awful.😮

No you should not visit as its full of people regretting that they live in the far cold North and escaping the cold wet grey.
Epcot looks like crap. No longer Epcot. Oh well. Too woke anyway
