Thank you so much for these videos! Just one question: do you have access to any other aqa specimen papers, and if so can you send me the link? I really really really need more practice! Once again, thank you.
Hi - here's an additional playlist for AQA Higher: th-cam.com/play/PLPglScc3TJ-MemNl9a_V23tj1BcwOIUDb.html. I'll also aim to add some more in the next few weeks. Best S
on question 10 the way i did mixture of paints given in ratio wont be exact in litres as it comes up to 10.8 litres of white and 7.2 litres of blue . so i had to round it up to 11 and 8 litres . but the way you did is bought mixture of paints . so which one would be the correct answer >?
Hi - around 10.43 I’m aiming to simplify the calculation before multiplying through. I could have left as 11 x 12 / 4 x 7, calculated, and then simplified. I feel it’s easier to simplify first if possible. Best S
I was really confused on question 7 as to how and more specifically why you got the answer of 4 and 5/7, the thing you did with the 11/4 x 12/7 where you changed it to 11 x 3/7 was really confusing and i feel unnecessary as without doing that and just doing the multiplication I got the answer of 4 and 20/28. I checked the mark scheme and it still counts as the correct answer. Just wanted to let you know. Other than that I find these videos of yours extremely helpful and for that I thank you.
Hydraz i know it’s late but basically what happens is you do 33 divided by 7. The biggest whole number you can get without going over 33 is 4 so thats the big number. Now that whole number in this case is 28 and to get from 28 to 33 you need a remainder of 5 so that’s the numerator (top number) and the denominator which was 7 at the start stays the same.
I am so confused on question 9, the question said 2n+1 and 3n-1 but when you substituted the numbers in you kept saying 2n-1 and 3n+1. What am I missing??
I’ve learnt more in 26 minutes than the past 5 years. Thank you so much
Glad to help and all very best S :-)
@@3minutemaths Hi
My exam is in 30 minutes lol

I feel like I have some hope now, I do recognise some of these questions !!
life saver, all the other videos were form a century ago, need the new specifications
some last minute revising thank you!
All best with your test :-)
how did it go
why did you do q9 like that surely you can just write out the sequences and find the three common numbers between 20 and 40?
It’s quicker his way, but I would prefer just write it out Bcs Icba to learn the short cut 😭
Thank you, very helpful
you make it so simple cheers mate
Channel: 3 minute maths
Video title: 1 hour maths
Video length: 26 minutes
Hotel: Trivago
Ha! Lol - never thought of that :-).
The channel was ‘Simon Deacon maths’ until a few weeks ago.

is it -1 because -1 * -1 is +1 so +1 * -1 = -1
No because (BIDMAS) you have to do the index first (cube it first)
and 1^3=1 so it is 3-1=2
@@suleimana BODMAS you freak
not BIDMAS, ew
@@louisequigley5181 no i do BIDMAS as well because they are called indices not ondicis
i got grade 9 thanks to this
That's great and many congratulations!
@@3minutemaths thanks : )

Hi - with these types of questions you shouldn’t need to round, as the ratios usually work out. Best S
For question 7 you said 2x4 is 4
Hey for question 7,why do you simplify the denominator on the left but the numerator on the right?

absolute legend i have my exam in 2 hours
No worries and all best with your test :-)

Question 3- since when is there 1000 cm in a meter?
Hi - there aren't - but there are 100cm in a linear metre. I've tried to explain the thinking from around 2.30. Best S
It’s not but there’s a 1000 in a msquared. It is not just a metre

Also his answer is a simplified version of what you got
Great

Yes - it's quite a complicated question. Sorry for any confusion :-)
Thanks!
I got 55.3 for question 10 will they allow that
You'll get most of the marks ... although you need to always show your working.
