Not only did he use the kick before spears E was down, but the moment he did that syndra flashed behind pantheon to ignore his shield and execute him with her ulti, lee decided to use his ulti and eventually put spear in a position infront of syndra which made his E block the entire ulti xD.
Malphite probably has a ward in that bush, so it would be easy enough to dodge his e if tfblade is charging it and I think TFBlade acknowledges this at the end of the clip.
