Love this technique. As others said I look forward to what you will show us. I started down the card making rabbit hole, which led me to journal making, but what I really like are the dangles, charms and bookmarks. This would make a great bookmark. Thank you and blessings. 🤗🌹
Thank you, Lynda! Yes, I started as a card maker myself - so many techniques transfer nicely to junk journaling, and can look completely different because of the unique materials we use in our journals. Thanks again for watching!
Thanks, Heather! Yes, I'm currently going through my bin of page margins to stamp on them and use in this technique - as if I need any MORE paper scraps! I really appreciate your watching, thank you!
I just came across your site and I’m glued to Utube! Watching my third video this morning & looking forward to creating with you! Happy day from Tennessee!
Oh, wow, I'm honored to be part of your day! Stay cool! My best friend lives in Knoxville and I hope to get there to visit this fall sometime. Many thanks for joining me here - we have a lot of fun!
Thanks, Jeanne!! We're actually headed to Newport camping very soon! Taking our little grandson to the Oregon Aquarium. We've been there many times, this will be first time with Barney. He's going to love it! Thanks for watching!
💃I am going to twist the night away!🎶🎵 Hello Anne! Your twisted ribbon cards and belly bands are amazing!🥇 Thank you for showing off and enjoying my printables. 🙏 I am going to grab the off cuts saved at my trimmer and get twisting. The results are fantastic! ❤❤❤
Let's twist again...like we did last summer...! Thanks so much, my friend. And I LOVE your printables. Mostly I love them because they represent original artwork done by YOU, no stock images. That originality just shines through - plus, they are joyful and so beautiful! BTW, I realized I called the pink flower a "ZEEN-yah" which is how I grew up saying it in Nebraska. Most other people say "ZIN (rhymes with PIN")-ee-yah." Either way, it's one of my favorite sweet old-fashioned garden flowers. And YOURS are the best!
Thank you so much, Sheila, you're so kind! I certainly didn't invent the technique, but it translates well to junk journals - I'm so thrilled that you're going to try it!
Thank you, Peggy! I'm always aware that when I pronounce the word "zinnia," I always say it the Midwestern way -- "ZEEN-ee-ya" - that was the Nebraska way! Julie's watercolors are so pretty.
This technique would be fabulous with washi tape! And it doesn't matter what the width is if you use the template hack. Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate it!
I know julie has her printables at PM artists. Im not sure if she has them on her kofi 😊❤ I love these with Julie's flowers. I wish I had a printer because I would love to have them😊❤
I'm totally loving them, too, Suzy! One thing I love about @julietorrens digitals is that they represent her original wonderful work - they're not stock images that someone else just manipulated, which is how many digital kits are. Here's to our friend Julie!
LOVE IT! I'm going to make some of these and use them for Christmas gift tags. Then I'm going to add some stamped holiday images for focal point. I have seen this ribbon idea before, but wasn't sure of the directions and I never made them. Your hack is brilliant 👏 ! ❤
I really love this idea, and your hack for it. It reminds me of the hack that I use to create the perfect Harlequin pattern without measuring! It's amazing. I have used it so many times when painting furniture, etc. I can't wait to try this twisted ribbon idea now. I haven't heard of it before. Thank you ❤️
Oh, Claire, I can ABSOLUTELY see this hack being perfect for painting harlequin designs - or plaids or anything else with parallel lines! Now you've got me thinking....hmmmmm....have fun creating your twisted ribbon designs! Thanks so much!
@@annekenlon it's quite fabulous and so easy! Basically you take a piece of paper, or cardboard and place it from the upper left corner down to the lower right corner, covering the entire piece, then draw a line using the paper edge as your guide. You then take the paper and place it up against that line and move it both upwards until you run out of room, and then downward from the original line. Next you take your template paper and place it at the upper right corner and connect it to the lower left corner. Continue with that same process using that first line as you go. As you finish it up, you will see the perfect diamond pattern has been created! Your paper template size determines the size of the diamond. Easy peasy!! I hope that my explanation makes sense. 😊
Margie, thank you so much! I'm delighted to have you here! (And my mother's name was Marjorie, so you know I smiled when I saw your name!) Thanks for watching - hope you find lots that you enjoy here.
Yes, a few birdies would be sweet on this background, wouldn't they? They will actually make a special guest appearance in my video for this Friday (6/21) so stay tuned! hee hee! Thanks, as always, for watching!
Such a great technique! Love your results. Ha you thought of using your gridded mat as the spacing tool? Also if you just glue the ends of the strips you can tuck embellishments under them.
Great idea, Robin, thanks! My poor old gridded mat is getting so worn out, I can barely see the lines in some places - perhaps I'll replace it for myself at Christmastime! Thanks for watching!
I made it out of fabric I had on hand! It's so easy! Here's the link on how to make yours: th-cam.com/video/HvWLKHtG0vI/w-d-xo.html - thanks for watching!
Hi, Charlene! The two I did at the beginning were about three inches wide by six or seven inches tall - I don’t have them handy to measure but that’s pretty close. Thanks for watching!
Anne I love this idea. I look forward in seeing what you do next. Definitely will be trying this for my journal.
Thank you so much, Dayna! You'll have fun with yours, I know!
TFS another lovely craft technique Anne...beautiful...i used ZINNIAS yesterday on my words project for page Z....saw Julie watching you on her TV! ❤B

Thank you so much! This is a fun one, I agree. Clever cardmakers came up with the idea, not me! So glad you enjoyed it.

I love this idea. I make cards, and am going to put these as background for a card. Thank you !!
Thank you so much! Yes, I've enjoyed this technique on cards, which is where it first became popular. Have fun making yours!
Fun idea! Quick idea also!
Thank you, Wendy! And yes, it's surprisingly quick, especially with the hack!
Great idea! Think I’ll try this with all the washi tapes I have!
