Thank you for great video again :) From new games> Legend of Heroes: Trails In the Sky remake - I believe it would be perfect way how to get into this franchise. Atelier Yumia looks also great. However, I also believe that we will get a lot of games on Switch 2 which are currently sitting on PS5/PC - and I purposely avoid those just so I can enjoy them in handheld mode - Metaphor, FF 7 remake and rebirth, Persona 3 reload, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, maybe even FF 16 would be nice. And I think this will be case for a lot of ppl who are handheld focus players (sure, some of these games I can already play on steam deck, but I just love to own physical copy of game - hence I skip, wait and pray 🙏
Oh and Xenoblade series as you said- I have same plan. I already bought all current switch games, waiting for next switch and X to start playing all :D Not sure if they will make some patches to improve performance/graphics on next switch, but no matter what I will have something to play there with this series :D
@MichiPotato-d9qI Slept on the convenience of handheld gaming soooo long until I finally bought a steam deck. I play games way more now. I’m really hoping they bring it with the Switch 2
Always good to find more JRPG fans! This year I have managed to make a backlog of JRPGs so big I doubt I'll clean it by the end of 2025... I already had my eyes on many titles you mentioned on the video but as of right now I'll only commit to Monster Hunter Wilds and Atelier Yumia.
Clair Obscur, a turn-based JRPG made by a Franchise studio😮 Looks great and love the real-time button-press combat system already❤ Reminds me about [Shadow Heart] series from the old days❤
Regarding Trails, I know it's a huge ask of any gamer to tackle a series that has 13 main titles thus far, but I fell in love with the series last year and played the first 10, one after the other, and am almost done with Daybreak (the 11th release). It's become my favorite.. anything -- out of any game, movie, show, book, etc. So stoked for Daybreak 2 and for Sky FC Remake -- REALLY hoping they remake Sky trilogy AND the Crossbell duology! I've never played any of these free-to-play mobile-turned-PC games, but I keep seeing them so I feel like I should try them. Good list btw, I liked and subbed!
Well the thing is, starting the Trails series is not the same as committing to all of the games. Continuing to emphasize that there're no strings attached before you're hooked is the key (imo) to getting people on the fence to try it.
Impossible to like anything after Azure Cold Steel is easily the worst JRPG I played in my life. It's so bad. Trails never had good writing or interesting characters but Cold Steel is another level of trash
@@loiskamiya9164 I understand fully, you’re either trolling or crazy - “never had good writing or interesting characters” is what gave it away lmao good one though!
Clair Obscur combat is quite unique for jrpg true, but it's basically borrowed from Like a Dragon. So because of that i'd like too see something added on top of it.
The Free To Play Options will likely be more costly than the standard priced games in the long run. Just a friendly reminder. But half of them will show up with DLC and probably show up with a game of the year edition. So... maybe we should just invest in books?
Lots of good looking games coming out in the next year, but im gonna be spending FAR too much time with Monster Hunter to be able to play them all. The struggle is real
There are a few wrong things in this video, and I believe they are intentional: Tales Of Graces F Remastered is being released for PS4 as well. Trails Through Daybreak 2 has been released for PS4 as well. Phantom Brave is being released for PS4 as well. Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is going to be released for PS4 as well. Atelier Resleriana is going to be released for PS4 as well. Suikoden Remastered is going to be released for PS4 as well. Stop demeaning PS4 just because it's last gen console. PS5 is the current gen, but if the video wants to give information about what is going to be released and where, it SHOULD say all the consoles, and not to favour specific ones. I am really really tired of PS5 hooligans that think PS4 exists no more.
Atelier Yumia is one I'm looking for. I am looking very much interested in how they are changing things once again. But I wouldn't say that the previous editions were not dark. I have played every single one. Now they were much lighter then what came before this current iterations of the came. This series is Actually much older then many realize. I still own the first 5 games that came out to the USA at the time. Before these 5 there were 5 only released in Japan. Released on the PS and PS2 Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy These were pretty dark games Which also had humor to it mostly dark humor and then it changed with Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland. There was still darkness in the story but they did make the world much brighter and cutesy. But this is where they really started to experiment with how the Alchemy system worked. But Had brought a feature that was terrible that they would quickly drop. They put a very strict time limit in the game. Time doesn't stop it keeps counting down. so you could lose a lot of time forgetting to pause the game and getting up to use the bathroom. You also lost a lot of time with travel. The time system reminded me of the system in the game Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. A game I hated only due to the Time element which stopped you from fighting at your best. Use your abilities and you lost time. from a few seconds to a few minutes each time.
Neverness to Everness & Anata are Chinese games. JRPG was coined to categorize Japanese-made Role-Playing Games whether they're anime based or not. It's important to make that clear as many Westerners still think Genshin Impact & Wuthering Waves are Japanese games. If you wanna become a relevant channel you can't forego details like that.
I was really sceptical of the like a dragon/yakuza series going turn based and didn’t even give the first Ichiban game a try because of it but I gave infinite wealth a crack and can say now after playing for over 100 hours I don’t think they should go back to action rpg combat system.. the turn based system In infinite wealth was so epic and fun.. also I just wish they would stick to Japan as a setting but go to other parts located within Japan like the country side in hakone or a modern day Kyoto!! Not too fond of Hawaii but it was still ok
Your generation with that mentality against turn based rpd has destroyed rpg games and they become less rpg and more action then anything... While turn based system you can actually appreciate the details in each character moves attack and combos, action like rpg are just chaotic input where u can only think of what command you need or can input in a few seconds but you cant enjoy what the characters are actually doing
Not a fan of the thumbnail. The thumbnail is a prime example of how much the gaming industry really needs to be reeled in on the fan service it gives in its games.
there isreason for atelier make 2 games. 1. maybe it is diffirent division like ryza so 2 of em same atelier but also not same. (maybe) 2, i love atelier series (not online one) so more better for me
Which JRPG are you looking forward to the most next year?
Thank you for great video again :)

Atelier Yumia looks really good, can't wait for it!
It’s easily at the top of my list. Hopefully it lives up to the hype
8:45 are 2 good reasons to buy it 😍😁
Im waiting for the digital pre order to be available

SUPER looking forward to Monster Hunter Wilds! 🎃
I'll be playing a ton of Trails this year for sure. Trying to get caught up on all the older games.

I hope Expedition 33 is longer than 30hrs to get the platinum. This is a game I want to play for a while. I just hope it lives up to the hype.

I hope you get your own game, keep at it.
The 2 games I’m most interested to play next year are Inazuma eleven Victory road and Hundred line defense academy, alongside with Expedition 33.
We Gonna be Flying straight to the moon when Chronicles X drops on SWITCH in March!
I just want DQ12 man. DQ11 is my favorite JRPG of all time.
I recently got into the atelier games Yuma looking good
Lots of good looking games coming out in the next year, but im gonna be spending FAR too much time with Monster Hunter to be able to play them all. The struggle is real
What’s great about games is you don’t have to play them right when they come out
Whats the basketball game shown in the intro?
Ananta
Fake game it's just another super mecha championship
Clair and dragon quest are top of my list.
Schera looks so young in the remake
the first sequel to Black Flag. the first yakuza game worth playing.

lol wow cry harder. PS4 is ancient
@15:53: Don't hold your breath. That's been a bizarre issue for 6 games and counting...

Can't wait for trails in the sky remake
Did CN Dev games count as JRPG??
Who (that played rpgs) had a Wii U when it was active, let alone now?
I really want a dragon quest 4 through 6 hd 2d treatment
Monster Hunter looks like a chore to play. I’m skipping that one
It's not, although if you don't want to put in the time, that's fine. MH games are demanding even when you play cby yourself so it's not for everyone.
There are way too many games I want in just the first three months, but with what money?
Tales of symphonia remastered was the first of the remastered releases

NTE ANATA ARE NOT JAPANESE GAMES!!, and genshin is fantasy and they are modern city setting not a genshin competition just a different style.
NTE, Ananta, and Clair Obscur are not JRPGs…
Daybreak 2 is awful
