Interesting radio, interested to see you wear your watch on your 'favoured' use hand. When working DX SWL i find the minute i need a time check my favoured hand is busy so impossible to see my watch if thee... so it lives on the other wrist!
I so totally envy you. This was my dream receiver when I was a school boy. I had to settle with the 1400. Warming up it drifted 2 Khz easily--the most unpleasant disadvantage of the 1400. Does the 3400 fare better in this respect?

Most non pll receivers will drift a little, it's just how they are really, the 3400 settles down after warmed up though
