Miller Bros swords and knives are real nice. But severely overpriced. $2700 bucks for one of the swords they showed off in the vid. Way way overpriced. They probably don't have more than $100 bucks wrapped up in materials (if that). Another couple hundred in labor (again, estimating very high). Estimate (extremely) high and say each sword costs them $500 bucks to make. If they were to operate on a 20% profit margin + making their money back....they'd have to charge around $1100 bucks for the sword (including the scabbard)....again, assuming it cost them $500 to produce (very unlikely).
There's a reason their shit is so expensive - it's because it doesn't sell so they are trying to make up for their losses with each sale.
I wouldn't reward a company for that type of activity...no matter how good their stuff is. Refuse to pay (at least) a 6X or 7X mark up when buying it directly from the manufacturer. They aren't paying vendors or distributors, paying very little for advertising, etc. Almost all what they bring in goes to recouping costs and profit. No reason their items should be that expensive.

0:04 a 17 pound water filter that depends on electricity?
2:11 a device that will save the world from plastic bottles... that uses plastic bottles in a plastic container!
5:19 a huge $50.00 pen that needs special refills and has a knife included. You can open boxes and break wine glass at will. .... its black so it must be, "tactical."
6:14.... why not just use your smart phone... its right there in your tactical pocket near some tactical toilet paper.
7:48 I was a SWAT cop for years. No one on a team would show up with this blade! I do own this knife.... its the one I loan to friends who I never expect to return it.

I'm going on a huge walk around Australia with my friend but most knives are illegal in Australia. So to protect ourselves from the wide variety of venomous snakes we have here in Australia were going to have to carry a sheathed sword on our back. Because since it is visible and can't be mistaken for something else it is legal.

    • @OldManPaxusYT

The schrade knife looks good. I bought a schrade knife last year. I'll never buy another. I used it once to strip some bark off a staff I was making. Nothing heavy at all. On both sides he blade's edge, the bevel and where the bevel meets the cheek are all marked (scratched if you prefer) and stained. I contacted the sellor BA Blades in the UK who asked for photos then said they had forwarded them to the manufacturer which they claim never responded.
The way BA Blades dealt with this I would recommend not using them and if the manufacturer did behave the way BA Blades said then I would also recommend careful comparison with other manufacturers before making a purchase
This is not what I'd expect from a quality knife r supposedly quality knife maker I'm sticking to made in Sheffield from now on.
BTW as a quick FYI in 2004 The Schrade name was purchased by Taylor Brands LLC, who continue to manufacture products under the Schrade brand as well as Old Timer, Uncle Henry, Imperial & Smith & Wesson knives

    1. its fine
    2. I can use an empty canned food and use can opener to make better than that plus I don't need pellets when I got twigs and sticks around in the forest. I prefer using an empty food can instead of wasting 150 dollars because steel cans can produce heat once you lit it up the fire inside the can.
    3. I have to say its a waste which I don't think its necessary survival gear but good for lugged travel like hotel
    4. Why do I have feeling it remind me the movie some smart guy decided to try wearing the device as underwear instead of a helmet?
    5. ok its not bad but still need work
    6. another tool being unnecessary
    7. not bad but need improving like safety cap for the emergency button because what the odd someone accidentally hit the button and may cause the rescuer people come looking for the person who did that.
    8. I'm sorry which knife do better (see a bunch knives) yea I think its an excuse for the time being but pretty good knife thou.
    9. its fine.
    10. why a sword or all this stuff, a machete is fine, a knife/dagger is fine but why a sword? Are we slaying goblin in the forest (clapping slowly).

About the AR500 armor…..the name is a little misleading. AR500 is a type of steel used to make body armor plates. There are lots of different companies that make AR500 plates. To name company AR500 armor is probably an attempt to get everyone searching for AR500 armor plates to see your products first.

The Schrade knife isn't made of titanium the blade is coated with it. Also it is no replacement for and axe. The steel is also lacking for a bushcraft/survival knife, since most stainless steels are not suitable for what it's supposed to be used for. A better knife from Schrade would be one of their Frontier knives. Those use 1095 carbon steel a durable steel that will actually hold up to the task.

Not a fan of that specific Schrade knife (SCHF28). But I do love my 2 Schrade knives I do have! I've got the SCHF37 and the SCHF45 (carried on a belt on my shoulder instead of belt on pants because of size and weight). One is my smaller belt knife and the other is my big chopper. I also always have a Morakniv Companion on my belt in the woods and on the property (lawn and woods).
