'Please adjust the brightness until the logo is barely visable' *adjusts until the logo is very very visible* Glad it's not just me who does that Rob. Thanks
Would T-bone from WatchDogs 1 count? Also Kazooie from Banjo and Kazooie even though their Nintendo. Captain Price from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 & 3
Jayden Hussey you should play outlast for yourself assuming you haven't already seen it it'll get you hooked! You've probably already watched it through though :)
No Dead Space or Alan Wake? I've spent many a night having multiple mini heart attacks with the latter when playing between midnight and 5AM... That's my cardio
I remember playing the original Silent Hill with friends only lol. And shout out to the entire series' incredible soundtrack just hearing it makes me quit playing.
Dude, same. I was 7 years old with two friends at the time -- and we launched Silent Hill into the PSone, and not shortly after -- we all got traumatized by the forced death-scene.
I just happened to have played the last 3 or so hours and finished the first Silent Hill when I was tripping on strong acid. To this day it's the only video game that has managed to legit creep me the hell out.
See, the problem I have with "horror" games is that they almost always leave you barely able to see anything, and are too often using that as the top way to scare you, by popping something out of the darkness. They tend to forget, too often, that horror is evoking a sense of dread and then actually being disturbing, not just hitting you with a rage-inducing jump "scare" that then resets your progress and makes you even more pissed off at the game, often sending you into a spiral that makes you have to put the game down for a while to break and calm down.
Goddammit Rob, your intros never cease to entertain me. Had to rewatch the "It's not a Holiday" part several times. Also thanks for putting the term bathroomstruck into my vocabulary.^^
You know you shoudnt be playing something, when you are already scared as hell before seeing at least one enemy, and get a trophy for quitting. My case too.
Hell, in the US, we tend to start seeing Christmas stuff once it turns October. The movies on TV turn to Halloween, but the ads are "It's almost CHRISTMAS!!" I'm THOROUGLY sick of Christmas before NOVEMBER anymore. Give me Halloween any day.
Rob is great, no doubt, but I believe that people here seriously underestimate other members from PlayStation Access. In my opinion, the best Friday features are the ones with Nathan and Dave (and Delsin, of course).
It absolutely is. I hear about this bullshit and female protagonists but they are never written as well as Amanda is in AI and therefore come across as annoying. The entire atmosphere of that game was gloriously frightening.
It’s a great game but it had it’s flaws. The good thing is that the developers had exactly the right idea in mind and we will definitely see an even more awesome sequel.
Heh that was the first game I got for PS4. I had fun having my more arrogant gamer friends start out in a locker and spend an hour trying to make it out of one room while I silently watched, offering no guidance.
I never forget playing alien isolation with my friend watching, hearing the alien, I was in a vent, I turned around and screamed like an absolute girl only to find out it was a fucking shadow 😩 Never played it again
I just beat _Outlast,_ am fascinated with _RE7_ (as experienced vicariously through streams), and consider _SH2_ my favorite game of all time. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Well done, Rob, Nath, and Dave. Well done.
It‘s weird, I have watched the scariest Movies all by myself, at nights. Even after smoking a blunt. But if I get chased in a Horror Game I feel like I am going to spit out my heart lmao
The scariest game that did it for me was project zero 2: Crimson Butterfly, I absolutely shat myself every time I played it, took forever for me to complete it but it was so dark yet gripping, it always felt as if the main character was whispering, calling and pulling me in to keep playing
hey rob, remember back when you were a kid and you woke up on saturday mornings to watch the saturday morning cartoons?, you have become that to me :D i love waking up to watch the Friday features, and i love the effort you put into them. its so easy to make a list and put voice over but you make it entertaining
Given the success of the RE2 remake and the almost guaranteed success of RE3, you'd think that it would go through some people's minds. That said, I'm not sure that Sony are all that keen on remakes and I think that they have the publishing rights. If it was an all-platforms title then we'd likely have more chance.
After watching Playstation Access for three years now, I can safely say that Rob is probably my long lost brother. We have exactly the same attitudes towards all things irritating. I can't stand Halloween, especially the commercialisation of it. I'm going to play Alien Isolation and Outlast 2 again this weekend, but only because I want to, not because society made me! Nice one Rob!
I'm a grinch for christmas right up until the 25th of December, when I really enjoy it. What I really hate the relentless commercial build up for a month and a half before hand, and the relentless planning everyone does up until the day itself. :)
Late November to early December kinda buggs me wit h the early xmas stuff, actuall xmas is fine and on the 25th you still have a lot of good food and all your presents from the day before but no need to be social with all relatives and no more xmas prep,
I've never really been able to get scared by any type off horror media, but Alien: Isolation is the closest I've ever come and I love it to bits for it. It's not so much scary in my mind as it is nerve racking. The sound and lighting wear down on you until your nerves are so shot you feel like you've been awake for a week.
My freshman year of college, (a few months ago) I was due for new ps4 games. I bought the outlast trilogy and some other games, and there were these guys telling me I was a crazy girl for thinking I could possibly play them cause they were too scary, and I said to one of them "Isnt that the whole point of buying a scary game?" and they all went "Oooooh!!" as I walked out and they wished me good luck lol. I played the entire outlast trilogy in my dorm with the lights off. It happened over the course of about 2 weeks every night. My roommate would just be chilling in her bed watching in horror till she fell asleep. It was scary af but I made it to the very end, and I played them all on very hard difficulty as I do with all games. I pride myself with this achievement 🙌🏾
You're not alone; I never finished it either. Could only handle 15-20 mins of gameplay max before my nerves were shot. I think I got maybe 75% of the way.
For some reason, the 2 games that had some effect on me were dead space and doom 3, played em both in the adequate setting; no lights on, 3 am, headphones with some bonus volume and yeah... it was a sweet borderline masochistic moment! :)
HerDeepGreenEyes the first one had some scary/tense parts but the second one was in no way scary or tense. I think I was only tense once throughout the entire game. And this is coming from a person who hid in a locker in Alien isolation for over 1 hour.
Yurick Hunt Well I thought it was way worse but people's opinions differ. I just found it to be an alright action game that was no way a horror survival game. Glad other people can enjoy it.
What about PT?! I know it's more a demo so it's technically cheating but my word is it scary!!! I played it on my mate's ps4 and almost lobbed his controller across the room and screamed like a girl!!
BlueSpartan107 i missed out on downloading PT on my ps4 but a friend of mine still has it. There is no possible way to still get PT on your ps4 if you don’t have it, is there? Only way is to find someone who has a ps4 with PT on it and hope he sells it...but it’s ridiculous to buy a whole 2nd ps4 just for the demo...
To be honest, playing Amnesia with the headphones on really is the ultimate way to play. The sound design in that game is absolutely brilliant, and you're totally missing out if you play it on speakers. There aren't any sudden loud jumpscares anyway, so there is no reason not to try. I highly recommend it to everyone.
1:18 only gamers with a modded PS2 and an extreme amount of patience can finish it. I loved every second of Forbidden Siren 2 but had to constantly fight with the game to get it to work on a modded PS2. It was a nightmare
There’s an unofficial VR port for the PC version of Alien Isolation, which is based on some pre-existing VR code that the developers abandoned before release. No chance of it ever arriving on PSVR though.
Ok I'm calling it now, the culmination of Delsin's story will involve him stalking Rob throughout the office whilst picking off the others with his might badger jaws whilst Rob gently cries in a locker/cardboard box.
This channel is high quality, brilliantly written and acted, for FREE! And if Rob wasn't so damn funny and relatable to a 29 year old gamer for life, bringing up his similar experiences we've all had with say MGS, or FF7 -9, RE, and so many other classics, sometimes he literally did the same thing in MGS2, or didn't get the same thing like in FF8's junction system.
"This video game psychologically profiles you as you play. It gets to know who you really are then uses this information to change itself, it uses its knowledge against you, creating your own personal nightmare. This game plays you as much as you play it." - Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Thank you for including Fatal Frame. It’s massively over looked, but is amazing for its subtlety. Scary things that you discover or can completely miss. A doll with its head bowed that turns to look at you when you raise the camera at it, non-threatening ghosts that appear for only a few seconds moving through the area; ghostly hands reaching for you. While also having in your face jump scares and psychotic ghosts, sacrificed to keep the gates of a primordial evil from opening, chase you. Too bad the series transferred to Nintendo who has no intention of bringing the series back to western markets
Hates that Halloween is hyped and commercialized, but loves Christmas which is the most hyped and commercialized day of the year? No credibility due to hypocrisy. :P
@Tom AcM Halloween (aka All Hallows' Eve aka All Saints' Eve) is also a Christian holiday. As the name implies, it's the day before All Hallows' Day (aka All Saints' Day). Halloween was the first day of a three day holiday collectively called Allhallowtide dedicated to remembering the dead particularly the faithful, martyrs, and the saints (the hollows). Some scholars believe that Halloween as we know it is totally derived from old Christian beliefs, rituals, and traditions instead of celtic beliefs, rituals, and traditions. But to the point, Halloween is as much a commercialized Christian holiday as Christmas is.
I have the platinum trophy for outlast 2. I'm not kidding! It was hard af and I spent over 40+ hours on it. But it was worth it because now I have a platinum trophy I can be proud of.
The IRL scenes xD great video, btw I played Until Dawn with two friends until dawn thanks to your playtrough, we got everyone out alive in the second run, the end was tricky.
Outlast 1 and Whistleblower are only really scary until you realize that nearly every threat can just be run past since there's no stamina to manage, and you're faster than any foe. You just hoof it past everything and be fine
It's Christmas Eve 2019 and I love the crew on this channel and I just wish I had friends in real life like these wonderful people. I'm feeling a little sad this holiday season, but I will be fine and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas !
My fave horror games (from best to least favorite): 1. SH series specifically: SH1, SH2, SH3 and SH Shattered Memories 2. Penumbra series 3. Amnesia 4. Forbidden Siren 5. Fatal Frame series 6. RE series 7. Nightmare Creatures 1/2 8. Alien Isolation
Alexis Guillen I've heard they lost master files, so they used pre alpha stage game in remaster. So… remaster ended being not complete. Buggy and even missing voice files. A catastrophy they should be ashamed of even showing.
He's contractually obliged to cover games which tie in with yearly festivals/holidays. Imagine a video games channel NOT doing a scary game list at Halloween. That would be most irregular.
Thank you for the video! All of you friends are the best! All of you friends are super awesome and super kind and super smart and super strong and super wholesome!
'Please adjust the brightness until the logo is barely visable'
*adjusts until the logo is very very visible*
Glad it's not just me who does that Rob. Thanks
You ain't sneaking up on me suckers!
Lol
I always do this on most games then realise my eyes burn 1 hour in
Some games don’t let you get it that bright so you have to play with the lights out to prevent glares on the tv. Lol
Omaru1982 me nah I adjust it so it’s pitch black lmao
I don't know why everyone Doesn't watch this. I don't even have a playstation and I still love it.

haha watching PewDiePie’s walkthrough back in 2013.
You're not alone rob I hate scary games to but for some reason I can't stop watching walkthroughs of them
Jayden Hussey you and me both brother
You're not alone.
I'm the same and I don't care if my friends make fun of me for turning the brightness all the way up. I do it on all games.
Jayden Hussey you should play outlast for yourself assuming you haven't already seen it it'll get you hooked! You've probably already watched it through though :)
Jayden Hussey Agree, altough when a story is good enough I don't mind
No Dead Space or Alan Wake? I've spent many a night having multiple mini heart attacks with the latter when playing between midnight and 5AM... That's my cardio
Dead space isn't scary just stressful at places and on occasions make u jump within the first 15min
Alan Wake was hot garbage from a gameplay perspective and good but only sorta scary for story/atmosphere
Well this list should have included AGONY as well.
alan wake is a microsoft exclusive. this is a playstation channel lol.
Silent Hill Downpour was the last Silent Hill game that truly creeped me out.
Silent Hill has a LOT of other worldly/demonic stuff in it.....Yeah, it's not really for kids actually
I just happened to have played the last 3 or so hours and finished the first Silent Hill when I was tripping on strong acid. To this day it's the only video game that has managed to legit creep me the hell out.

I looked at the platinum for that. My god you are a dedicated fellow
The IRL scenes xD great video, btw I played Until Dawn with two friends until dawn thanks to your playtrough, we got everyone out alive in the second run, the end was tricky.
Where's ride to hell: retribution?
Kyle Mcdickins don’t even get me started on that, nearly had a panic attack
Outlast 1 and Whistleblower are only really scary until you realize that nearly every threat can just be run past since there's no stamina to manage, and you're faster than any foe. You just hoof it past everything and be fine
0:40 what iv always wanted to do!
Joke! XD Looks real asf though lol.
It's Christmas Eve 2019 and I love the crew on this channel and I just wish I had friends in real life like these wonderful people. I'm feeling a little sad this holiday season, but I will be fine and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas !
Hang in there mate. Great single player games exist so we can be entertained by ourselves😁
@@Dave_ja_vu Brilliant,thank you ! 👍🤘
No Dead Space?
Yea. First thing i thought of
Same
Dead Space made me really paranoid. I check every single nook and cranny like a Swat operative in that game XD
Thomas Perry it’s not really scary though, but it IS Jumpy, I often catch myself being jumpscared than like, paranoid and such
Ds1 is great but horror wise not in the same realm as sh2 or isolation. Then all the dead space games after the first are not really scary at all.
Rob cracks me up. He hates Halloween but he looks and acts like a deviant with a dungeon in his basement. Funniest guy on TH-cam.
My fave horror games (from best to least favorite):
1. SH series specifically: SH1, SH2, SH3 and SH Shattered Memories
2. Penumbra series
3. Amnesia
4. Forbidden Siren
5. Fatal Frame series
6. RE series
7. Nightmare Creatures 1/2
8. Alien Isolation
I think Halloween is a holiday, but only at night.
Yaaayy.. Thanks for including one of my favourite game rob.. Fatal frame 3.. Thats a very good game u know..
Idham Adi Fatal Frame is easily one of the best horror series in gaming.
there was a fourth game too but only released in Japan. Couldn't find it anywhere to play. I loved the other three.
when I bought RE7 I was like "if I play this I have to play it with VR!" so I did, I layed an egg but finished the game
I tried RE7 in VR but was done pretty early on when I watched myself get disemboweled by a chainsaw
well, you're doing something wrong if you're playing the HD "remaster" of Silent Hill 2 instead of the PS2 verssion...
Malice Flare Is that sarcasm, or is the original better than the HD remake. I can't tell since I have only considered playing the game.
Malice Flare not everyone has a PS2 you know... And what's wrong with the remaster anyway?
Alexis Guillen I've heard they lost master files, so they used pre alpha stage game in remaster. So… remaster ended being not complete. Buggy and even missing voice files. A catastrophy they should be ashamed of even showing.
Arethien oh

My favorite thing to do is watch people play resident evil biohazard in VR. It's funny to see people flip out of their seats
If only the bravest can complete them then how is rob here to tell us about the games he didn't complete?
He's contractually obliged to cover games which tie in with yearly festivals/holidays. Imagine a video games channel NOT doing a scary game list at Halloween. That would be most irregular.
Layers of fear or Observer at least should've been there, those games scared me for so long when I played them
These are basically all some of my favorite games. xD
This list did not disappoint! Also, glad to see the old Siren games getting some attention and not its 'reimagined' version.
I can't believe they didn't include Dead Space!
The PLAYER I played through Dead Space and wasn't scared once. Only got startled a few times.
BlueSpartan107 Well that’s a lie.
How about Silent Hill : The Room? That game was horrifying :O Loved it :D
I'd have thought P.T. would be on here.
Thank you for the video! All of you friends are the best! All of you friends are super awesome and super kind and super smart and super strong and super wholesome!
legendhero 45 that's super. Yay.
I'd like to see RE 3 remake
The intro was good enough for me! Great job team!!
Omfg robs left hook for the win
Rob just makes every video he does amazing!
halloween is the best holiday :) 🎃
Love your videos, Rob!
HOW CAN YOU STILL MENTION MGS IN A VIDEO THAT HAS nothing TO DO WITH MGS. LITERALLY NOTHING. Sometimes Rob you amaze me
