Hello dear Florian. Enjoying watching you experience this. I LOVE chrysanthemums… so underrated. That lovely, peppery, almost pungent + unmistakable (but rarely focused on on perfumes these days) scent. I don’t think I’ve tried this Lutens scent. I go to Paris next week + tho I’m trying to do it on the cheap, I am going to allow myself to buy one perfume from the flagship. It’s going to be a tough (but fun) choice. Thanks for celebrating artists! PS: violets, uhhuh!? Love those, too.
Hey, Amy! Was reading on chrysanthemums and as part of the Anthemidae, they are related to both daisies and chamomile and I kinda see that in germs of smell, that bitter pungency. Have a pleasant trip to Paris and hey, they’re currently running Black Friday sales on Serge Lutens, do smell De Profundis🦇
Ps: this is one of the most interesting perfume histories + videos I’ve experienced. Sheldrake + Lutens really do have this duality… what you are sharing is so rich.
the entire Gratte Ciel collection was recently discontinued, though the announcement was somewhat vague. it’s possible they’re only retiring the bottle design and might move some perfumes to other collections, like Noire or Flacon de Table (which frustratingly come without atomizers). for now, it seems they’re just clearing out stock with black friday sales.
De Profundis and Fumerie Turque are special. But Parole D’eau is very underrated too, a great and unique freshie. Great reviews as always, enjoyed your take. Cheers!
also glad to see you also enjoy parole d'eau. simple but gorgeous, I can see myself wearing this a lot in spring and summer, as well was Dior Granville
Loved the deep dive on the psychology of De Profundis! My only association with chrysanthemum is in tea form and I get some of that smell here, I can also totally imagine tulip. I love the greenness of the scent, to me it's a totally happy spring scent but I can also imagine the association with funeral flowers. As usual Serge leaves a lot to unpack!
I heard there’s a type of chrysanthemum that yields tea. I believe it’s related to daisies and chamomile. It’s of Asian origin but in my part of the world it’s very common now. Its meaning is gold(en) flower. So beautiful.
oh, i'll give it some thought then. thing is, when you reach a certain point, i don't think that matters anymore. but i'll try to select some favourites.
Moments like these are rare and I treasure them deeply.

You’re being too kind
@@MemoryFlo the truth is true! This is needed + so enriching. Thanks.
Не пробовала этот аромат . Самое любимое у Лютана это Черный Футляр , Поджигатель и Дыхание Богов . Обзоры у вас всегда очень интересные ❤
Love this one. Just purchased it myself last week in the same bottle. Extremely underrated.
I think most Serge Lutens are criminally underrated

Thanks for the heads up. God knows what they’re planning
Oh you sold me on this 😍 need to sample. I love how they always advertise de profundis during Halloween 😁
It’s very appropriate to be sure. Let me know what you think!

De Profundis sounds like my kind of fragrance. Unfortunately, it's hard to trust someone else's nose.
It is hard, i agree,, but do try it
I can promise that I will. Few fragrances seem, from your description, more suited than De Orofundis to my olfactory preferences. @@MemoryFlo
have your top 10 changed since 3 years ago? would love an updated english version on this topic!
Three years ago? You mean Serge Lutens? I don’t even remember my top 10. You mean for life? Cause i think that changed a lot
@@MemoryFlo Yeah, I meant top 10 for life.
