    @protoman1365 ปีที่แล้ว +45

I’m only 26 years old, but I think I’m finally at Shannon’s point where I don’t expect them to win a cup in my lifetime.
If they’re lucky and everything goes their way, the Canucks can get a wild card maybe (which even that is rough given how the top 4 Pacific teams had over 100 points, and Calgary had over 90). And that’s about it, I don’t see a deep run in the cards.

I agree at best this is a fringe playoff team if everything goes right and as you said it's going to be tough. Edmonton as long as McDavid and Draisaitl are around will be a playoff team. Vegas should still be a good team next season. Los Angeles will be a good team as well. Seattle will be in the hunt as well. I would suspect knowing Calgary's pattern of making and missing the playoffs that they should be in the hunt next season. Then you go over to the Central Division. Colorado, Dallas, and Minnesota should all be playoff teams next season. Winnipeg if they keep a good chunk of the team together should be in the hunt. Lastly, I think St Louis and Nashville will be jumping back into the hunt next season as well.

I feel sorry for Vancouver fans... I love Vancouver and would love to see them succeed, but when I see the roster... they are nowhere close to the teams that made Playoffs apart from Winnipeg, maybe... The roster is mediocre at best and they are already over the cap, which is unbelievable...

Canucks gotta get the roster organized with Good Contracts not just Good Players. You certainly have some of the best players in the league though. With additional picks and players coming in, I am hopeful that the franchise has promising days ahead! Hang in there!

After 15 years of being a Canucks fan I finally understood, this year, after the Bruce situation, why Shannon has multiple favorite teams. No sane person can stay *just* a Canucks fan for life, it will ruin Hockey for you.
Jumped onboard the Kraken fandom near the all-star game, and have been genuinely enjoying hockey again, while I will always love the Canucks, they're just too much. The fans are toxic, which is why other fans laugh at them, they're always angry and calling for players to be launched into the sun, along with coaches, management, etc, the second something goes wrong. It'll kill your enjoyment of the great game of Hockey.

Maybe this is really common but I have a very monogamous relationship with my favourite team (LIF). They haven't been particularly good in my lifetime, yoyo-ing between the SHL and Allsvenskan mostly. Last time they won the Swedish 1st league was in 75. They haven't made it to the final since 89. But here I am watching Canucks videos because I want to see if they mention Åman. A lot of our young talents are picked up by the NHL and once the bitterness wears off I love watching them continue to improve overseas. Hoping for Heineman or Rosén to earn some NHL time in a season or two as well, would be amazing to see some matchups ✨💙🤍

Someone told me to dream on when I suggested that we trade Boeser and OEL to Philadelphia for Provalov and Hayes. Both players want out of Philly and Hayes has a bad contract. But a decent third center. Might have to put Rathbone out there as a sweetner. Perhaps that person was a Flyers fan. Provalov is a good solid D man. Hayes is big and fast. I know we can use more D and on the right side. I like Boeser but he lacks fight and battle. He has good size but rarely competes. He is a decent forward. Kind of like Jake. How much rope does he need. I am at the end of mine and should we keep him? And think he could be a player that could bite you on the ass. He goes some where it could be like Bo on the Island and have diminishing points. Watch these playoffs and you have to play hard every night if you want to win. There is no room for passengers.

If you want to know where ownership's care really lies, consider this:
They're carving out an area between the locker rooms to build a restaurant for the owner. They move the medical room a few meters away from the bench, which, in the NHL, means WAY more than people realize.
What if a player is bleeding profusely and needs medical attention ASAP? Dragging them an extra 50m could mean a LOT.

Not much chance Myers gets moved before the next trade deadline, because his bonus is paid in September. The frustrating thing is they could be a good team if they remembered to play the first period and that the first 20 games of the season actually matter. I'm not sure whether it's a coaching thing or what, but as a fan, it's difficult to watch the first period when your team can't even keep posession of the puck yet alone register a genuine scoring chance in the first 20 minutes on most nights. A couple games I can understand but game after game after game it's same story. Then they wake up when they realize they're only going to register 5 shots and be totally embarassed.

Always liked the stick but felt it was a little on the nose.
Canucks are in a tough spot . They have $80 million dedicated to this line-up. $86 million when you throw in Tucker Poolman and Tanner Pearson. They have already made their adds in Beauvillier and Hronek. This is their line-up.
They are lined up to lose Kravtsov and Ferland. This a team who improved defensively at the end and only gave up a 12th fewest 30.8 SAPG. They were 25th in goals against , so their goaltending was terrible. They seem destined to hope Demko finds his game again. He's untradeable right now, they have no cap space to add anyone and he's terrible ( GS 32 .901 sp 3.66 gaa -2.77 gsaa). Spencer Martin spontaneously combusted and poor Colin Dellia was thrown to the wolves.
If they want to move forward they need other goaltending. i don't think a back up behind Demko solves your problem.
Vancouver has some top notch offensive players like Quinn Hughes, Elias Petterssen, J.T. Miller, maybe Kuzmenko. i'm thinking Hronek really helps the defense. This is a bit of the Winnipeg problem where they have a few golden patches and gaping holes everywhere else. The offense without Horvat wont be enough.

I find it hard to laugh at those facing adversity. It certainly deflates my view of a fan base, as it must to the players & team, which we know read & hear the comments as well. Prior to the Canucks entering the NHL I was a die-hard Canadiens fan from my youth onwards during all those Stanley Cup runs. (I still root for them as my second team). The days of the original 6 & NHL team dynasties are long gone. That said, I have felt disappointment as well during the Canucks coming so close to the Stanley Cup in their past runs but it demonstrates they CAN do it! I remain optimistic at the beginning of each season as a new start for the Canucks & a run for the Cup in the very near future.

hobbits on ice...They refuse to bring in toughness and grit. they keep looking to find the next cost effective Kevin Fiala type player. they draft these types (lekkermakki) they trade for these types (kravstov) and a whole farm system of these types. Until they start looking outside the box like with Dakota they are always going to be a soft team over the cap.

Should have kept Boudreau and maybe give Tocchet a fresh season. That way we would've tanked hard for Bedard. Although the problem that may arise would be star players like Pety and Hughes wanting out because the team sucks. We still have a chance to bring Bedard home...

I don’t think we can read a thing into how the Canucks played under Tocchet. When Bruce replaced Green, the Canucks went on a run as well. So is this the game plan for management? Buy themselves time by changing coaches every year so they can go on a run and get a lower draft pick while they pretend the problem is solved? I would say ownership will eventually have questions, but given how things turned out in the last 2-3 years, I highly doubt that. They just want 2 home playoff games by any means necessary. So it’s next season, same as the last. What’s the definition of insanity? Repeating the same mistake over and over and expecting a different outcome. Welcome to Vancouver.

I’ve said this to many times to many people what you’re saying now is what Rutherford said last year he told us the play under Bruce wasn’t sustainable. Why now is different he believes in the coach he has and the system he has been putting them in place it’s up to management to give the players he needs
