In honor of SmallAnts coming venture into this beloved game. Finally a great run that didn't choke. It was meant to happen today with several runs on pace coming very close.
Honestly, no. Looking at this run and the best pace I've been on, which is about 2.5 seconds faster at DNA, and I can't see much room to improve on that, then I still guestimate that sub 2.05 is the holy grail for the time being. That's an insane time. Beyond that lies the land of the unknown. For me sub 2 doesn't seem feasible, but I guess you never know.
Game mechanics. There's heavy diminishing returns after you hit the ball 2 times. The third hit isn't quite as powerful, the fourth is significantly weaker, and subsequent hits have next to no power.
Generally, the fewer times you have to land and wait for the ball to stop before going again the better. So hitting the ball more times to either go further is ideal. Often times I also hit the ball more times than what is needed to better steer the ball to land exactly how I want it to. And ofc the map itself also decides how many hits are needed.
That's because I use a technique to rapidly hit the ball sometimes when I want the ball to land somewhere specific and not roll. I do it by tapping pretty quickly which adds a few hits.
The fact that there is absolutely no commentary on this just makes it even more surreal.
