Great 2d description of the break lines. That second break line is one of the most over looked areas that most people miss out on. Keep up the good work and glad to see the Growler worked for Jamie, Thanks again!!

Thanks for watching! Yep, a lot of anglers miss the deeper breaklines. Subtle changes in how we approach things can make a huge difference. Growler has been on a tear this summer!

Do you find that since you are in summer to fall transition and the walleye are on the hard to soft transitions like 25-30 feet depth/breaks the bigger muskys are there? I fish tons of shield lakes and see the walleye on my side imaging holding like that.

Thanks for watching! Walleye tend to hold on the same breaks as I described in breakdown #2. If the walleye and perch are there, good chance you'll see a musky or big pike around as well. Hard to soft transitions are key areas to look for , for all species of fish.

So my lake's weeds have been over growing tremendously this year. Also the only places I've ever caught musky in my life are in those spots 6-13ft dense weeds. But this year the weeds grew so tall that It's basically impossible to fish, even with top water. Are the Musky still in there? It's a fairly shallow lake in the kawarthas.

I suspect there are a lot of muskies still using the weeds. Find those inside / outside corners. Travel lanes through the weeds. Use spinner baits with single blade, single hook. Should get through the weeds.
Fish parallel to the outer weed edges, fish will use those edges.
Thanks for watching and thx for the question!

Is that a bass boat you're fishing out of?

    • @54orbust
      @54orbust  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yep, sure is. Order Basscat Pantera II
Works great as a musky boat, low casting decks are prefect for figure 8's.
      Thanks for watching!

@@54orbust Thats awesome. I fish out of an aluminum bass boat. Love the basscats.

Hey Glen when you were talking about the break lines being a summer pattern, is that water clarity dependent? Does that apply on like a lake of the woods? Or more clear systems ?

Thanks for watching, thx for the question.
Edges are edges, fish will find them. Obviously clear water helps, but fish adapt to the environment they are in.
Look for edges between hard and soft bottom, weeds and sand( both inside and outside) muskies love to hang on the edges. In my limited experience in lotw, fish will search out these types of edges.
      Appreciate you!👊

Glenn if you don't mind I'll chime in a bit to help out on Jim's question. Because LOTW water clarity isn't always clear, especially down in the Sabaskong Bay. To target the second break lines in dirty water, throw baits that run deeper like a crank bait and grind the bottom just as you would fishing for bass. Also bigger heavy and loud bucktails or spinnerbaits and run them slower then the typical bucktail burning. I almost never retrieve bucktails or spinnerbaits fast, slow to medium speed so I can almost always target that second break line. Good luck out there this summer!!
